- If the Earth had an edge, I hope it would look like this. The edge of a flat Earth. I know, I know, we've talked about it before. But there's something mesmerizing about it. A flat Earth solar eclipse. Diagonally growing trees. The great wall of ice, guarded by NASA, of course. The flat-Earthers sure have a great imagination. But what if they were right? How would the Earth hold up in space? Would it revolve around the Sun, or would the Sun rotate around it? And why would you never walk to the Earth's edge?

Here's another simple challenge to flat-earthers. A pendulum's swing plane rotates around fastest at the earth's poles, and not at all at the equator. The formula is 15 degrees per hour times the sin of the latitude. How on the world can you explain this on a flat earth disk?

According to pancake-earthers, earth is accelerating upwards, not downwards. Moreover, there is no gravity in that model, but if there was, it would be stronger at the center (north pole) than at the edge (south pole), unless the mass of the earth was concentrated at its edge.

In everyday life you can observe you live on a sphere.
One simple example, stand at the first floor of a building when the sun is going down at the horizon and disappears.
Once it disappeared, take the elevator and go to the 10th floor, guess what ? You will still be able to see the sun for a few more seconds before it disappear again.
Which means the sun is hiden behind the horizon = sphere
This would not happen on a flat earth.

Actually people have known that the earth is round for thousands of years. The ancient Greeks knew the earth was round.
I do have to thank the flat earthers, due to them I am learning quite a bit about our planet from all the videos I've been watching.

How do flat earthers explain our day to night cycle and our season change because you can't have both with a flat earth.
So the sun circles the plane for the day and night
And seasons are explained by how wide/small the path is. A smaller path means summer in the north/center, and a wider path means summer in the south/outer edges
@@Boss-cj6zn The sun always moves across the sky at a 15 degree per hour drift. If the sun moved in a wider path over a flat earth, it would have to change speed to maintain a 24 hour day. Faster in winter and slower in summer. This is not what is observed in reality.
Also, a sun rotating in a big circle over a flat earth would never drop below the horizon like we observe. Everything about your theory is wrong.

Uuh, many people already predicted but their models were not backed by enough observations and data of orbits like time period, SMA, etc.
People like Copernicus, tyco brahr and Kepler also calculated and described the properties of orbits of different planets

Back in reality. Earth is the stationary plane we live on which is surrounded by large bodies of water. The lights in the sky rotate above us continually. If you study the sky long enough you can figure out the patterns and make predictions. Simple.
I am not under estimating anyone. Its just this unsettling feeling i get. For example, in this case, Aryabhatta found that the Earth revolved around the sun thousand years ago. When the narrator said that it was this Nicolaus who had founded that, i just cant control my temper when i am in the midst of such a statement.
