Going in two weeks. Did you drive to Jokulsarlon and back to Reykjavik in one day? Planning on doing that not sure if it’s doable.

We actually stayed 2 nights in Vik and that's when we did Jokulsarlon. It's a pretty far drive otherwise... I think something between 4-5 hours from Reykjavik to Jokulsarlon one way. It's definitely possible I probably wouldn't recommend trying to do both ways in one day

About the mountain hike, I think it helps that there was fog so you can't see the bottom. I went "hiking" with my ex-GF. I did not know how high we were going until she said "Wow! Look at the little people", I looked and freaked out. It took me forever to stop hugging the wall and stop hyperventilating.
