  • I give you a tour of this 2020 Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 from Navigare Yachting based in the British Virgin Islands. Fountaine Pajot is a production catamaran company but they tend to lean more towards performance rather than comfort as some of the other manufacturers do.

    Great tour of the catamaran! Definitely needs a watermaker, even if it were to be A/C power it could be run every time you run the generator for the 4-5 hours necessary to keep up with the refrigeration. Looking forward to the trip videos...

    The PJ are really nice sailboats. I've chartered the PJ 42,47 & 51. I felt the 42 was quick to get overpowered when the wind picked up. I never had the full main up. Even with one reef in the boat felt overpowered in 15knt winds. The 47 and 51 felt much easier to sail. I also wonder how the interior tends hold up on the PJ's. Great tour video!

    Good to see a solid A/C generator-based modern boat, No 'solar' or lithium bat crap. Would be good to push out the 480 volt 3-phase A/C envelope though, to all big appliances and motors; including water-maker of course. And a two-step genset would be awesome, one little one going most of the time and a bigger one to bring in the cavalry when needed.
    AND as a matter of fact, simply having only a stepped pair of gensets would be awesome to power the main prop induction motors and all appliances and service motors with.

      you guys prefer the 60? most videographers use 24 fps to get that cinematic feel. i use 60 for its versatility. but Bryce uses 24

    • @romanmironuk
      @romanmironuk ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sailingdoodles For video blog I prefer 60, for movies I would prefer 30 (if anyone shoot movies in 30). In my opinion 24 is very jerky / strobbing especially when panning left-right-left or circling around on a drone. In movies to make strobbing effect less visible they usually use 180 degree shutter rule but for video blog it is very inconvenient (to buy and use neutral density filters). In your videos every single frame is a masterpiece (great using of bokeh!) but in motion when it is 24 or 25 it is not comfortable lo watch. Please use at least 30 fps or even 60. Thanks!

    Bobby, I think you should look at this TH-cam channel called Landshark Outdoors. It's very informative about the different types of baits to use for different types of fish. I just found it the other day. It also shows how to process fish as well. Happy fishing. 👍👍🍺🍺

    • @Recklessness97
      @Recklessness97 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes both difficult to find and expensive if/when you find a place to dock at. Hence why most catamaran owners try to avoid docking as much as possible. Often you will be charged for two spots because your boat takes twice of amount of space. This is what I hear, I personally have never sailed/boated ^.^ .

    I think i was drawn to your channel due to the locations, not the boat reviews. I think i say a turn in you tubers about a year ago, where it turned from entertainment to holding a can at the exit to the shopping center. I fully get the need to continue the money flow, no matter what has to be done. But reviewing bots that 99.5% of your viewers will never set foot on or ever see with their own eyes is sort of like 80% of you tubers pushing that green powder that has nothing healthy in it and could be used to remove paint. I enjoy the channel but have caught myself passing it by more and more, since you have your groove and the episodes don't really change much even when you change countries. It seems to me its gone from a lifestyle to a beer/boat commercial.
