My friend just got this phone to replace his iPhone 13 Mini. He loves it. I was checking it out yesterday, the reviews really surprised me as it's basically on par with my S22. A FE series might have to be my next phone. My S22 is great except for the battery life.

Guys a suggestion while doing camera tests
The main camera in default mode
Like when you take the photo of that building
Try having a bunch of 3 people, 5, 10, 15, 30 people and take the photo in daylight and artificial light
Helps us understand how it handles real life photo taking scenarios, instead of foliage etc

I just bought this phone for my father as a Christmas gift and after this video it sounds great for him. My Dad doesn't have a real phone plan he just uses Net10 so every phone he uses is just a old phone my sister and I give him after we update our phones. Hes been using a S10+ while my sister has a S22 and I have a Galaxy Fold 4 so this will definitely be a great upgrade for him at a good price since he doesn't use it for anything other than taking photos and vids ands watching youtube lol

I have the choice of this or an IPhone 12( just the Normal 12.) I've always wanted an iPhone but it's 3 years old( brand new from metro) as opposed to what a year old with the S23FE? Is the FE the same as the S23? If not what are the differences. I'm not tech savvy so any help is appreciated. I'm still watching the video so if he mentions it my bad lol.
Edit: so it seems as though the FE is a more budget friendly option? Also just finished the video and realized the S23 has slightly better specs

They're probably overstocked with the 8 Gen 1 & 888, since they could not sell them due to Samsung's foundry subpar fab process and are now trying to chug them down on unaware customers, branding it with a reasonably successful device chain (S23 series).

Had this phone for ~2 weeks or so. Solid phone, im pretty happy with it. I think with what you get for the price, it's hard to beat.
One thing. I have the screen on boosted sensitivity even though I don't have a separate screen protector. In some apps the screen is not as responsive as it should be, youtube is the biggest offender but I have had it sporadically on a couple others. Trying to double tap in a video to skip ahead or back, you really have to pount the screen, and even then sometimes, several times for it to respond.
Is there an issue with the phone itself or the apps?
I had a mid range phone before (a52 5g) and I consider this phone to be flagship, albeit flagship light. I've noticed some of my apps are running diffrent versions than on the a52, I guess its that some newer app versions wouldnt run well on an older model so they made lighter versions now I'm running the more robust versions, idk.

Either reviewers try smartphones just not long enough to not notice the downsides of glass, or my needs are very limited. I use my S20 FE to work taking photos in buildings to asses their value, I don't use (and I tried) cases , the plastic back is both easy to grip and it doesn't shatter like glass, the screen is excellent as well, so my S20 FE ends being slender and lighter than the premium ones.

FE used to be Fan Edition. Now it's just Fucking Expensive. Thanks, but no thanks. I was about to wait for this one and upgrade from my S20 FE - but as the new FE doesn't mean Fan Edition, but rather Fucking Expensive, Imma head out and go for another brand. Probably Nothing Phone 2 to be honest, as it offers a lot of practicality at a fair price.

    • @zaneverovati
      @zaneverovati 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@ektasix I went and got myself a Nothing Phone 2 last Sunday and so far, the experience has been SMOOOOTH sailing. The Phone itself reminds a lot of the S20 FE where the FE didn't stand for Fucking Expensive - Nothing Phone (2) ticks a boatload of boxes without actually being the best at anything - aside from maybe practicality. It's got a good feel to it, the Glyph interface is a nice feature although somewhat gimmicky (to each their own), and it does everything really good. Latest processor is what, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or something like that? "Tell you what, we'll chuck in the last years beast and it's gonna be good enough". OnePlus can charge 70+ Watts? "We'll do 45, that's good enough for a full charge at around an hour." What, S23 Ultra's got 200 megapixels and 5 cameras? "We'll do two cameras that do the job just good enough." You want a future-proof phone but don't want to break the bank? "RAM's not that expensive, here you go, we'll chuck in 12 gigabytes." Come to think of it, that's the definition of the Nothing Phone 2 - just good enough. Nothing more, nothing less. Recommended if You want a reliable phone that does the job like the S20 FE used to do - at something that resembles a fair price. I mean, I got this one for 6990 SEK, thats roughly around 650 €. At the same time, my wife bought her S23 Ultra (she's the cameraman in our household, bajillion pictures a day of our kid, so whatever, let her have it) - her phone cost 1300€. It doesn't get more bang for buck than this in my eyes, unless you go for a Xiaomi or Redmi or whatever they're called - and since we had two of those where the microphone didn't do what i's supposed to do, even got them swapped for brand new on warranty and the problems were still there - I'm never buying a Xiaomi again. So, it's Nothing really. Cheers.

I had high hopes for nothing phone 2, on paper it is fantastic but use it in the real world and it is not great. The software needs to be improved a lot. Salesman in the phone shop tried to convince me to trade in my Note 10 Lite for this. The contract is cheap as chips, but I was a bit concerned about the lack of S Pen. I'm way too used to that. The S23 Ultra is still too expensive for me. Looks like Dex, screen and camera are the major upgrades from my Note. Thanks for the review. Binning. As in pixel binning. All 50mp shots are binned down to 12mp, it allows for more detail to be shown in the pics without taking up so much space when saved to the phone/cloud. I have no idea is this has a Raw shot feature, but that would be the only way to get the full 50mp shot.

Anyhow I think I prefer the Samsung over the 12R for the Samsung Eco-system it works better with my Samsung Watch 5 and I missed my themes and fonts, wireless charging, and the cameras so the 143.00 more dollars was worth it for me though I do believe the 12r has a better screen and colors the 26 mins charging I'll miss the rest not so much Gemini is a joke. Bixby is better which is saying something plus you get an extra year for updates somewhat covering the extra cost plus I got 256 instead of 128 which will help when it ages.

I seriously have to wonder what the purpose of this phone is. It is pretty much a phone that is assembled from new old stock. Frankly, the Snapdragon 8 generation 1 chipset had serious heating issues. Once more, it has terrible optimization and serious power consumption problems. Not to mention, that chipset is 2 years old. Don't get me started on the crappy exynos processor version. At $600 there are many other devices from other manufacturers within $100 that are a far better choice. For example, the bass version of the OnePlus 11 is $699 and offers premium build quality with the Snapdragon 8 generation 2. Furthermore, the Motorola think phone at $500 has a lot more to offer and comes in at $100 cheaper. Frankly, the 23fe is too little phone for far too much money.

In Europe we will have S24/S24+ with Exynos 2400. So Samsung fanboys be ready for disappointment))

@@Handynutzer I live in Europe so, yeah, It seems Exynos are going back. Exynos made me buy an Alpine Green 13 Pro instead of an 6.1' S22 Exynos in March 2022.

@@iAfroTech That's why I got the S23U. Pretty much the only gen of S phones where we get a Snapdragon chip. Such a shame. At least it's a great one.

They could have put exynos 2200 in the upcoming a55 so it can kill the iPhone SE, the iPhone SE probably sold more that all midrange A series phones combined
