You make me wo happy with yout enthusiasm and then getting to see your quilts is the icing on the cake. I always look forward to your videos and watch each one several times. Thanks so much for your quilt videos.
Laura I would love to see how you store your fabric stash. I also would like to know how you decide to purchase yardage or pre cuts. When you put together the fabric for the Tula quilt did you gather from your stash and if purchased what size fabric did you buy? I noticed on the Strawberry quilt you had a nice healthy variety of colors for the berry and leaves. Truly remarkable! I think I have stash envy!! 😉
I will do a room tour and talk about storage soon. 😊 For the Tula quilt I gathered fabrics for a few years, I would buy anywhere from a 1/4yd to a full yard. It depended on the print, my excitement for it, and my funds available at the time. Smaller blendy prints were smaller cuts. Anything I saw Fussy-cutting happening on I would buy around a half yard. I have tons of extra material after the blocks are complete, but I figure that's good stash building for a future Tula quilt. 😊
Love seeing how your colors all come together. At 67 I am starting a block of the month quilt in July. It says beginner friendly but I’m intimidated. Your sweet spirit makes me smile and your enthusiasm is contagious. Thank you for sharing. I’m a cross stitcher also so I watch those videos.
Delightful as always. Your finished strawberry quilt top is gorgeous. You inspire me to keep creating! I finally finished quilting 9 of my tops and a few extra last minute tops I put together, so I need to plan my next big project which will be a quilt for my grandsons graduation next year. I have 5 grandsons and 3 of them have already graduated and their quilts were made and delivered, so only 2 to go. Your plans all look fun, so best of luck and enjoy.
Well, I am not a quilter but the craft has always intrigued me. Your taste in quilts, your tablet in making them Just amazes me. They are just beautiful!! They look so cozy!!
Love your quilting bee videos! I lost the quilting bug in 2019 so I started cross stitching but ready to get back to quilting. Your beautiful quilts and your creative energy are inspiring!!
Just love your videos. I’m mostly a cross stitcher but am dipping a beginner’s toe into the quilty world. Your quilts and plans are way more advanced than anything I would attempt but they provide SO much inspiration for my smaller projects - especially the color pallets. Thank you so, so much for taking the time to make and share all your videos. So entertaining and valuable to so many of us! P.S. having a blast with the pollinator SAL. ☺️😍☺️
I adore your strawberry quilt! So beautiful! The pattern looks very challenging! This weekend I am starting a summer mystery quilt with my local quilt guild...so fun!
I love love love your flag quilt. It was so pretty. Your strawberry quilt is so vibrant, I love it. Not to get off the subject of quilting but you have beautiful skin. I love looking at your face. You are beautiful. You are fun to watch. Girl you have a lot of quilts you are doing. I’m exhausted just imagining you putting them together. I have like eight quilts I’m doing for my grandkids, I have a cat quilt, a 3 D skate board quilt, a farm quilt and John Wayne quilt and coffee quilt which I finished also a dinosaur quilt which I finished and a hunting quilt which I’m drawing my own pattern pieces for my grandchildren. I know I won’t get them done this year but I have started them and I have a few finished and a few to finish quilting and a few to still layout and put together but I’m busy busy busy. I also cross stitch . It’s fun and keeps me busy. Such is retirement! Love it . Have fun and will watch you next video.
Laura, great quilting! You are truly a master with color and putting palates together. I am fascinated with your color palate page in your " brain binder". Maybe do a video on how you start that page, if possible for the future? Thank you for your time and effort putting these videos together for us to enjoy.
Bit late to the video as I am just catching up with my watch later list on You Tube. I sò enjoy listening to your enthusiasm for quilting, and your stunning quality tops! I always learn something as a novice. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Yes, nuggets for sure. Beautiful quilt ideas and aspirations....is getting me motivated to do some quilting...finishing etc. I am also a cross stitcher
So many beautiful projects and so inspiring! I’ve been in a quilting slump this year and you may have just helped to cure me. Also, I didn’t think I was a batik person, but that strawberry quilt top is gorgeous so I may have to venture that direction someday. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for quilting and cross stitch with everyone. I’m always so excited to see another of your videos post. Also hoping for quick healing for your knee so that you can get back to hiking ASAP if it’s not too hot.
Hi Laura! Ok so I usually only watch your floss tubes and decided to watch your quilt one because I’m going to start learning to sew. Well oh my gosh I was not prepared for your absolutely beyond amazing quilting! 😱 I knew you were a beautiful stitcher but girl….. boy can you sew beautifully as well! I won’t miss another one of your quilting videos now as well, which is awesome because now I have more of your videos to watch! 🎉🎉🎉 can’t wait until your next video! ❤
Hello Laura 😀Love your strawberry top finish and the backing you chose for it looks amazing 🍓 I enjoy a lot looking at all your prepared blocks etc. I mean I like that you show us the in-between stages of your projects and not just the finished project. Can't wait to see your "Seasonal Patchwork" blocks etc when you start it. The fabrics you chose look already delicious folded in the box 😍 Actually that's an other favorite thing of mine, to look at all those boxes/buckets full of beautiful folded pieces of fabric. I don't know, I love the crafts and all but the materials themselves make me really happy. I think I will never get tired or have enough fabrics, threads, patterns etc. I think I'd enjoy gathering them even if I wouldn't use them 😊 Looking forward to seeing you again 😍🧵🪡
Thank you Laura. Loved sharing your quilts with you today. I was doing some a fireplace some quilting block to add to a perpetual calendar piece I bring out each month. Mostly cross stitch and slow sewing but for Christmas I am doing a little Quilty piece. Thoroughly enjoyed spending time with you today. Hope the next period of time up to your next video is good for you. Enjoy your break. Thank you for the video and take care until next time. :)
Thank you for doing these videos, that strawberry quilt is just so much fun but my jaw dropped for that Christmas Stars Above Quilt....I CANNOT WAIT! I also want to do that Lella Boutique quilt but I have been looking at the new Tilda patterns they have released for free and getting really inspired also. Your videos and organization help me so much so thanks again
Laura, I always love your videos so much!!!! Your quilts are works of art!!!!! The strawberry quilt is gorgeous….. I enjoy your videos as it is like chatting with a stitchy friend! Hope your knee is better! Working on Patriotic and strawberries here!!! Happy stitching!!!!!❤
Great video!!!! First time watching you video and loved it. I have quilt for a long time but in the last year really getting back into it. Thanks for the inspiration!!!! I love your excitement.
I enjoyed your video today. As I am frogging a border on a new cross stitch project, I am completely inspired to create a binder (wish I had done that from the beginning of my quilting). Thank you for this motivation. Happy quilting and safe travels to you.
Laura, this video was so inspirational for me, l am quilter as well. You have several projects that you just completed I absolutely love and I’m going to try to do! especially that Jen Kingwell midnight at the oasis! Thanks for sharing all your beautiful projects and finishes. I love your happy spirit, makes me feel peaceful. I would love to see your set up when you start quilting and how you do that process. Enjoy your vacation ❤
This is the first time I have seen your channel. I loved the strawberry quilt so much, I got onto Etsy and got the pattern. Nice job on the finished projects. You are the cutest thing, you get so happy as if you were talking to a room full of you girl friends. Just as cute as a bugs ear. Have a great day my dear Tracy in Idaho
Well who wouldn't want to watch when there is so much inspiration and enthusiasm. The strawberry quilt is delightful and reminded me so much of the palette used in the book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" but brighter and fresher - almost edible. Now I'm looking forward to both your summery piece and Wensleydale. I might not quilt but the vicarious joy is real. 🇳🇿
Wonderful projects. I spent yesterday at the church working on one of mine. They have room dividers that I pin blocks to. Nice and big. I designed a large 21inch batik block and mixing with a different 12 inch block. All gorgeous Celtic batiks. Have enough for two quilts and a throw. Have three others in the works.
The strawberry quilt!! AH-MAZING! WOW! Not being a quilter, I enjoy watching anyway and this time was stitching on Huckleberry Farm by The Blue Flower. I'm about 50% done and I intend to get a finish next month if I can stay focused and not be distracted by all my other lovely WIPS. 🙃
Oh my gosh - that flag top is just beautiful! I can’t’ wait to see it quilted and ready for use. 🤗 And that Strawberry Quilt is stunning! You are so talented and your excitement is contagious Laura. Thank you for sharing such beauty with us. Happy Stitching 🧵🪡 Jacque 🐑
Well you did it again Laura, I had to add more quilts to my list! My 5 year old granddaughter watched with me and said about your strawberry quilt.." Oh wow that's so pretty Nana, you need to make ME that one!" And of course I need to make the flag one for myself! You are so organized and explain things so well. I would love to do a block of the month created by you because you have such a good eye for colors in your quilts. P.S.Your haircut is adorable and I am still praying for your knee to heal. Love from a Nana in Michigan 😊
Your videos are so fun to watch … I’m always sad when they are over ! I was hoping when you moved it would be to Minnesota so we could stitch and quilt together 😊
It’s so good to see you do another quilty video. Your quilts are so amazing. ❤ I just love all the quilts you make. Hoping to see more. I also like how you journal the ones you finish. Cool idea. Thanks for sharing everything you were working on.
You are a force of nature when focused on your quilting!!! I love your choices, enthusiasm for the patterns and colors! I just finished the top for a lap quilt for my sister in law and will be quilting it this weekend. It’s really pretty, but not fun!! I’m inspired for something fun! I loved your flags and wish I had thought of it earlier, but I really want to start gathering fabric to start it now! I love your technique of chain piecing your churn dash! Brilliant! I love your book organization. Thank you so much for helping me be more intentional in my efforts! Especially since I’m an avid cross stitcher! You’ve given me energy!❤
Your approach to quilting and organizing your projects is very interesting. I haven’t touched my machine in months. I haven’t been able to put down my cross stitching. I have plenty of projects, but not feeling it right now. Really enjoyed seeing your progress. My aunt is taking a class from Jen Kingwell this week. I am truly jealous about that! 😂
That would be such a dream! I hope she has a blast! And I get it- I go through phases where I do a lot, and others where I don't touch my machine for over a month. It's life.
Wow, mega dose of inspiration! I love how you follow a mood or theme for each design, even altering the original designers mood. Have to find that Jen Kingwell book…seems like a great inspiration for some stash sewing😉. I’m thinking that the geometrics in that quilt move to the edgy side of vintage. So fun! Thanks!
There’s a new Quiltworx quilt called steam punk using Tula Pink fabrics and it looks so pretty! I hope one day I have the patience to do a quiltworx quilt lol.
Oh Laura, what beautiful quilts!! I haven’t watched one of these before, just your stitching channel. Now I have to watch to see the end results of all these quilts🤗 I hope your knee gets better soon, and that your sister didn’t move too far away since you just moved there! Have a great week whatever you’re going to do!
So inspiring! And I love your organization. Last year I bought a bunch of scrapbook boxes (always on sale!!) and separated the fabrics for quilts I want to put together. I need to make a binder so I know what it what, what step I'm on etc.....I had hand surgery this week so my cross stitching is on hold and I'm going a batty!!LOL. Love you hair by the way!!!!
That's awesome! I love getting more organized. I'm sorry about your hand, but hope it heals SUPER quickly and well so you can get back to all of the fun things. 😊
Your quilts are gorgeous. I would love to see how you quilt your quilts. I am interested in quilting my own but feel very daunted. Would you be doing a video or vlog of your quilting process?
That would be amazing. Ive enjoyed seeing how you plan for every quilt you make, something I have never done but am keen to start planning the same way as it looks so enjoyable. Seeing how you plan and prepare your quilts for quilting I am sure would be equally inspiring. 🤗
Love the projects and the organization ideas! ❤ Curious since I quilt and cross stitch how you store your quilt stash and if you ever thought of making a quilt from your cross stitch?
I am planning a sewing room tour here sometime in the next month or so, which will probably be more helpful, lol. But I store in plastic bins by color, and kitted projects get their own smaller bin. And yes! My Mom made a few quilts out of Cross stitch when I was small that we used and loved, so I think about it all the time. Just waiting for that perfect project to inspire me. I do have a small wall quilt in my mind for one cross stitch project, but would love to do something lap size. 😊
I don't know if you have ever done this before, if so can you link the video. I am sure I am not the only one,.... But I would LOVE to see a video of your process on planning a quilt. The steps you take ... as in depth as you can. ...PLEASE🤗❤❤🤗! I tried to do one before and it didn't work out for me because the last color I picked was my least favorite😳 and it ended up being the largest border 🤣
I would love to, and have thought/ been asked to before. I definitely tend to remember halfway through the process most of the time... 🙄😂... I will look at the ones I am starting soon though and see if I can't pull something together from them. 😊
So many pretty quilts! I love that strawberry quilt. I only work on one quilt at a time and it takes me a year to finish it haha! How do you organize your scraps? Mine are all just shoved in totes ... unorganized.
Mine are sorted in totes by color. I tried by different sizes for a while but found I forgot about fabric, and didn't look for them when separated. I do divide out my batiks and 1800's reproductions, as they are different style enough and I have enough of them to justify the tote. 😊
Loved watching the quilting bee. I’m not a quilter so I enjoy your progress vicariously. Have a question, what are the sewing gloves you talked about? The machingers I think you called them. Thx.
There is a brand called Machingers, they have the grippy surface on the fingers specifically. I use what equates to a mechanics glove. They are cheaper. Lol. And they have the grippy surface over the whole palm. Which I prefer. 😊 The top of them say "Best, Nitro-Flex Lite". I hope that helps.
I spritzed them with some "Flatter" after piecing them to help them stay open. Love that stuff. I will sometimes use Best Press before cutting out, but I am not consistent.
You make me wo happy with yout enthusiasm and then getting to see your quilts is the icing on the cake. I always look forward to your videos and watch each one several times. Thanks so much for your quilt videos.
Your scrappy low value background fabric in your strawberry quilt is beautiful!!!💕🧵🍓
You are amazingly talented and skilled. Thanks for sharing your process. Quilt tops are beautiful.
Oh my goodness! The fabric for pushing up daisies is perfect! 💕🧵
Both your finished tops are beautiful. Your videos are inspiring and you make me smile. Thank you for sharing all your quilty things!

I could probably make that happen, though I am no professional. 😊
Curious since I quilt and cross stitch how you store your quilt stash and if you ever thought of making a quilt from your cross stitch?
@@LaladeeStitches 🤩 awesome
Did you starch the fabric on the small churn dash blocks
I spritzed them with some "Flatter" after piecing them to help them stay open. Love that stuff. I will sometimes use Best Press before cutting out, but I am not consistent.
