So nice to see you again! Someone commented that they're happy and relaxed as soon as the music comes on. I so agree. Love the giggles and laughs! Hope you continue to find joy!!!💜
I used to start Christmas day after Thanksgiving, but now I pretty much started bringing stuff out right after Halloween. I also love all the twinkle lights and it just makes me cheerful and happy 😊
Wonderful stitch finish of the Halloween house. I put Christmas lights up the day after Thanksgiving. Thank you for sharing another wonderful calming video. Happy Stitching ❤.
Thanks, Laura for a wonderful video. You sure do get so much stitching done! Love your chosen patterns. We host Thanksgiving but do get a couple displays in the hallway done ahead of time. We also put up the table tree in the living room because we have the family antique tree stand that everyone coming from afar loves to see again. Monday after Thanksgiving we take a week to complete the inside and outside. After the 12 days of Christmas, sadly, it all comes down. We have celebrated many, many, many, Christmases but each year is more exciting than the last. Enjoy everyone!
Lovely stitching. Awesome work on the re-write. I do give the designers a ton of credit for what they do. We put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving and leave it up until the 12 days of Christmas are over. The outside lights start going up at the end of September. We have tens of thousands of lights and a large display that has to go up. The lights are programmed to some Christmas music that we have selected. That is my husbands hobby. It is lovely and the families come from all over to see the show. It is awesome to be able to bring a smile to so many faces.
Absolutely loved all of your stitching, very inspiring. You are so delightful to listen to and see your variety of designs. I relax so much listening you. Thank you
So many gorgeous fall and Halloween projects! You got me thinking about "fill in stitches"... and how sometimes it's boring, and sometimes it's exactly what a stitcher needs!
It is always so calming and refreshing watching your Flosstube. I just adore you!! And if i lived closer, i would totally go to the store to check out the twinkling lights. This year especially. ❤❤❤
In Denver we have a tradition where we keep up Christmas decorations through the end of the stock show which runs through the end of January. So, I put up my Christmas decorations in December and keep them up until the 3rd week in January.
My Christmas decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving. They usually come down a day or two after Christmas. After Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas I’m ready to get my house back to normal. 🎉
I love your owl cup. Lovely to see you. I usually set up my tree in the last week of November so that it is all ready for December 1st to "hit the lights" and turn it on. I take it down after January 6.
Hi there, love the fabrics you dyed. The stitched pieces you chose to put onto the fabrics was perfect. As for decorating we are kind of loosey goosey . I start taking fall Thanksgiving/fall on Black Friday. I don’t venture out into the mayhem of bargain shoppers. Kind of silly but my husband never got all the outdoor lights down and put away. So he’s going to put up the ones he did take down this week. I take down the trees no later than 15 January or whenever Martin Luther King day. Yes trees: 4 tabletop , 2 full size trees! Hope you have a lovely, relaxing Thanksgiving feast and visiting with your guests. Take care🪡🪡🍁🦃
Enjoyable video! I have a Christmas project going all year. It makes me happy in summer. Tree goes up the week before Thanksgiving. Decorations take a bit longer.
I try to put the tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving weekend. I take the ornaments down early January but leave the tree up sometimes until mid February or early March just for the cozy lights during the dark days of winter. I feel guilty sometimes about it but my whole family begs me to leave it up so the winter is cozier. This year I’ll put the tree up before Thanksgiving so that when my daughter comes home from college we can decorate it together. I’ll probably take it down in early January this time though. I say do what makes you happy. I visited a teacher’s classroom yesterday and she and her students decorated it already and they are so happy!
Wonderful video! You are always a delight to watch! I have whittled down the number of FlossTubes I watch (so my $ doesn’t whittle down -haha!) but never miss yours🥰
Enjoyed seeing all your pretty stitching. I decorate for Christmas the 1st of December with my tree going up a week before Christmas.. We have a real tree. I undecorate around Jan. 6th.
Yay, the Cryptids pattern! I have that one on my wall and am working on the sequel (it didn't get touched this year, I've got urgent priorities). And I'm a strict December Christmas person. I adore Advent calendars but I don't put a tree up until around the 10th. I love a tree but I can't live with it for long!
Another enjoyable video Laura. Which blending filaments are you in need of…my LNS has just created a kreinik corner so I would love to check for you. 🦉🧵🪡🌾
Thanksgiving is later this year. So you can start putting up your twinkle lights earlier. I think I will start with the tree just a week before Thanksgiving. As always your projects are fabulous!
We are the same as you at our house. Christmas decorations are from the day after Thanksgiving through end of the year ish, sometimes a little into January. Also, I am wondering about the cello in the background.
Lovely Stitching. So fun to see. I am a transplanted American of 37 yrs in Canada. I am an absolute convert to Thanksgiving in October for so many reasons, not the least...... eating the end of your garden for Thanksgiving dinner feels like we are truly honouring the spirit of the harvest holiday. Also time to fast before Christmas, instead of a 6 week long buffet:) I grew up on. Weather gets so miserable here and the dark happens so early after the time change that....November 11 (Remembrance Day) a holiday up here, is when 50% put their outdoor lights up. They may wait to turn them on. But if we wait to put them up later, we risk drowning (Vancouver) or frost bite (the rest of the country). But I must say, a few people turned them on the weekend after Halloween to cope with the time change. So Christmas outdoors may begin much earlier than Christmas indoors. Much of it has to do with weather you have an artificial tree. We go real, and live. So it can only be indoors for the 12 days of Christmas. So for us, it is a staged event, and we appreciate each week.
Hey! A viewer and flosstuber from Canada 🇨🇦 👋 I go into Christmas mode November 12th - the day after Remembrance Day. I start thinking about taking down Christmas in the first week of January. If we are voting on what to put on your Lowry stand, I vote thr Heart String Sampling piece. It's wonderful! Sparkle n Shine ✨️ Julie
I used to be day after Thanksgiving but I’ve decided to not limit my joy lol. And now it begins day after Halloween! Last year I hosted Thanksgiving so I put everything up but the tree and that worked well for us! I also celebrate Fall starting in August, it’s never too early for more joy ❤️
I'm 76 and I don't follow any Holiday rules. Here in Oregon winter brings a lot of overcast days so I love to keep my Christmas up until I am ready to put out Valentines Day. Fall is my favorite season so I never take down Fall decor until after Thanksgiving.
As with cross stitch there are no Christmas decorating rules. I’m decorating this weekend because it brings me joy and I need some joy right now. Plus Thanksgiving is so late this year that I’d put it up early for that reason alone. Besides both are family holidays so why not?!!!!
I start Christmas right after I take down Halloween. My stopping point is Thanksgiving. So my rule is if I don’t get it all done by thanksgiving then I’m through decorating. I want that time to enjoy thanksgiving and get everything else ready to do and enjoy Christmas season. I don’t decorate outside of the house until after thanksgiving. So I guess that makes me a closet Christmas decorator. 😅Diana
Well hello my little ray of sunshine. I'm strictly a twelve days of Christmas girl but that's because in the Southern Hemisphere it's hard to keep a live tree going in the heat. Even though I now have a fake tree I still won't put it up until Christmas Eve as I now live in a very small apartment. My daughter has a Halloween tree that morphs into a Christmas tree and that makes her happy.
I’m copying you on Turkey pattern I ordered it and your fabric for my b day my husband was happy And said good! ( gets him a easy way to get me a gift. But I haven’t opened it yet I’m trying to save it till my bday on the 17th! We will see! I hid it behind some pictures on my hearth. I love most everything you love I Love the Judith Kirby stitch it’s on my wish list if I ever find it reasonably priced.heard a store in the midwest but can’t remember the name. I’m not far from you and one day soon we will get big old snow storms! Some years we get tons of snow other years not quite so much but always ample snow it is really beautiful and magical except to drive in. I have lived in Utah my whole life. Take care and Enjoy.....
I always enjoy your videos so much. We kind of have the same taste 😊 Love your new quote for the Lila‘s Studio pattern. I would love to change it too. You said, that you wanted to share it with us. That is so kind of you 🥰 Where can I find it? As I‘m from Germany our start for Christmas decorations is usually at the first of Advent, which is 4 weeks before Christmas. There are still a lot of people who put op their Christmas 🎄 only a few days ahead of Christmas eve, as we still have a lot of natural trees. Most people leave it up until New Year, but traditionally they stay until January 6 , Epiphany. Greetings from Germany 🙋🏻♀️
Are used to be the day after Thanksgiving throw the tree up all the decorationsall the twinkle lights, the stockings, the table, runners. Etc. etc. etc. However now my husband gets very bad anxiety at Christmas because he lost his mom on Christmas eve when he was very young. Won’t go into it here, but had a real tough childhood got raised by a sister who was a child herself. So we don’t do Christmas here very very sad.
Thank you for your great videos. Love, love all your projects. As for your Christmas, I am blessed that I keep my Christmas longer because I follow my culture and traditions of celebrating the birth of baby Jesus. so in Mexico we end Christmas in February! Yes I did say in February. I take down my Christmas tree after the 3 kings day which is 1/6. As a child, we got presents on 1/6 not on 12/25 because that is day of baby Jesus birth and we celebrate him. On 1/6 is when baby Jesus received gifts from the kings and baby Jesus share his gift to the children. We would get our Xmas presents on 1/6. I do keep my nativity two days after February 2nd. Most Mexican’s who go by the tradition, they keep their Christmas tree after 2/2. Sorry it was long but I wanted you to know why we keep our decor until February.
I used to wait until after Thanksgiving to do Christmas. But…with Thanksgiving coming so late…we only get about 3.5 weeks before Christmas. I’m going to start early this year..I love Christmas too much! I do 5 trees. I leave it up until the Epiphany.
What are the colors of blending filament that you need for your fairy? I've got a pretty big collection and I honestly go out of my way NOT to use it so I'd be happy to share if I have what you need. 🪡👠

As soon as the shire plays i feel my blood pressure lowering and then an hour with you I am much more centred again. Thank you! - Nic x
I totally agree!!!
Loved your update! I think you are the absolute best for making your sweet girl a sweater- sounds like she’s going to need it this Winter!❄️
always lovely to spend some time with you. Gorgeous stitching as always!❤

I’ve just started watching your video….and I have to ask about the cello! Gasp. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play one.

Hi Laura - so besides your beautiful stitching and quilting, are you also a cellist (asked the flutist)?
Hi. I am wondering if you no longer stitch in hand? If so, why not? 😊
