    Thank you, my 2 month old has fallen behind because of life events. It's like we're starting over again only this time she hates tummy time. Going to try some of these to reengage her into not screaming through on the floor tummy time.

    I love that you show options that your son doesn't respond to also. Like the Christmas lights. Each baby is different and it's nice to know that just because they don't like one thing it doesn't mean you shouldn't try another. These options are great!

    Thank you so much for sharing! We moved across the country when my baby was 6 weeks old and due to unforeseen circumstances, it took over two weeks for us to actually move. In that time our life was flipped upside down and tummy time was not on my mind, so now my almost 3-month-old is far behind and absolutely hates tummy time. These really are some fresh, new ideas that are helping. Thank you!!!

      That's so exciting! I love meeting people who are interested in Occupational Therapy. I am a licensed O.T.! I went to California State University of Dominguez Hills. The two closest schools were that and USC. While I'm sure USC is great, the difference in tuition is substantial. At the end of the day, where you get your O.T. degree from is of little importance. Your experience and clinical reasoning skills is what will help to set you apart. :)

    If the baby is not healing you should give him laxatives to run the digestive system, my LO also suffered with it and I soothed him with "babies magic tea" a good laxative and anti-colic thing.

    I need some advice my daughter is 14weeks. She's been rollinh since 5weeks and she turns her head very very well and lifts her head during tummy time
    But her head is very floppy. Constantly dropping forward and i just want to know how i can help her try harder in tummy time. She tends to get tired very quick ( she also suffers with cardiac problems that could be the reason for yhr tiredness. ) BUT i really want her head control to improve it gets me really down

    Ok so I have a question. I'm a ftm of a former 26 weeker mp who is now 5 mos old actual (2 adjusted) and has reflux. I want to incorporate more playtime with her (tummy time mostly) but it's like almost impossible sometimes. Her day consists mostly of eating, being held by myself and sleeping . She eats every 2-3 hrs and after every feeding, I have to hold her upright for at least an hour, otherwise she'll spit up and get these horrible and uncomfortable hiccups. After that, she usually falls asleep. Oh! I change her daiper before every feeding. Now when she's on my chest, she does lift her head up a lot! Somehow I don't think it's enough. At what point do you suggest I try these activities?

    • @nekoleamber
      @nekoleamber  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Justina! The small pillow came with the play gym set. I have seen quite a few gym sets that include a small pillow like that. I found it to be quite helpful during tummy time when they are smaller. So, if you are in the market for a gym set, definitely grab one that includes the pillow. :)

    i hope i have discovered this early, my son is diagnosed with global developmental delay, he still cant sit at 9mos old so i have to get him to a therapist..

    • @nekoleamber
      @nekoleamber  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Elma! Yes, depending on where you are located you might be able to access early intervention services where a therapist will come to your home to provide an evaluation and potentially treatment. I would speak to your pediatrician about your options.

  • @susankifus1695
    @susankifus1695 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello, I am loving these options... my pediatrician told me I need to do up top an hour of tummy time with my 4 month LO's (b/g twins) specifically my Boy twin hates Tummy Time especially being flat on the mat. Both only last a few minutes at a time....does the exercise ball help with their strength and allow them to get used to this and to transition to the mat?? Any advice is appreciated

    • @nekoleamber
      @nekoleamber  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      susan kifus hey there! I'm so sorry for the delayed response. For some reason I didn't receive a notification. I'm sure your (6 month old?) twins are on to new milestones now, but yes! The ball is just a variation of tummy time that uses gravity to facilitate core strength and it's interactive/variable which kiddos may tolerate better. I hope you were able to check out some of my other videos that are appropriate for your 6 mo old twins. Take care!

    What kind of yoga ball do you recommend??

    • @nekoleamber
      @nekoleamber  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jonathan! Any exercise ball will do. I would say a medium to large ball would be best as far as positioning yourself seated comfortably, and moving your little one.

    • @EMP1128
      @EMP1128 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same with my daughter. My first born was even worse... I just kept spit up clothes around and did tummy time in diapers so it’s be easier to clean up. It gets better the older they get.

  • @vickydelgado3332
    @vickydelgado3332 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi there... 😁
    I was just wondering if it mattered that tummy time wasn’t on the hard floor...( unable to use hard surface to push up and use her arms better) as I do tummy time across my thighs and more upright on my chest... so she rarely gets a hard surface to really use and push up... I’m worried with will affect crawling

    • @nekoleamber
      @nekoleamber  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Vicky! Great question! How old she? Most babies aren't starting to use their forearms to push up for the first few months or so. Tummy time definitely counts in the positions you have described, but as your baby gets older it will be important for her to get on more solid surfaces as pushing with hands will help to develop her palmar arches in her hands as well as strengthen her shoulders. :)

    • @nekoleamber
      @nekoleamber  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stability and strength in shoulders and arms are pre-requisites to crawling, so you are spot on in your thinking! ;)
