The process of cooking is almost the same as to what we do here in the Philippines. Only here we let the fish soak in the salt and water mixture. But the salt in the water is minimal so as not to make the flesh too salty. Finland and the Philippines are literally worlds apart, it just amaze me to learn that our people share something in common when it comes to food. Great video very informative!
I'm glad that Gordon did other shows that show he's always willing to stop and pay attention to others are preparing and making the dishes they specialize in. There's always something to learn, even if it's a trick, in pretty much everything.
So amazing for somebody who has achieved the highest culinary honors many times over, to humble himself in the presence of a simple cooking method. If you think about how many people would go to a place like that and start talking about their restaurant, and "how we do it" but Gordon Ramsay *listens*, *observes*, *touches, tastes* and *asks questions* - that's what makes him the GOAT. GR definitely not a donut.
I was at that place a few weeks ago, they keep Gordon's photos on the wall. Lovely wild nature, they sell that cooked fish in a small shop by the river bank where they catch fish (where it was filmed). Wonderful!
The lake in northern Saskatchewan where my family has a cabin has Whitefish, but I assume they’re a different species. They seem to grow bigger here than the ones in this clip. I almost never catch Whitefish here, but probably because I’m usually not fishing for them. Most of what my family and I catch is Northern Pike and Walleye. Both delicious fish, which we cook in multiple ways. Breaded on a frying pan with onions, seasoned without breading, and smoked in strips. Depending on how long they’re smoked for, we have soft smoked fish sticks (probably my favourite), or what my family calls “fish jerky”, which is slightly tougher, but very flavourful. Both are excellent snacks to have either warm or cold.
According to his amazing experience, adventure, aquired exotic cooking preparations, knowledge, techniques,Gordon Ramsay can open the most sophisticated, palatable eateries, most gastronomical appealing restaurants in the world 😎

Lol
David or other Fishermen, do you think it's safe to eat
fish from river where toxic bright green algae is starting to show up?
I would recommend not eating anything that shares the source of toxins.
Unless absolutely necessary to prevent death from starvation. Cook it very well if you do.
Josh I would not recommend to Act all high and mighty before doing research on green and Brown swamp lakes and rivers...

High fiving isn't really a thing in Finland. Especially now in this pandemic. Now that I think about it, I haven't high fived anyone ever either.

Exhilarating
That water current is scary
I favourite this fish
The guy can't make a decent grilled cheese. Look it up, it's funny.
He’s not talking about lutefisk is he? I’ve sadly had that too many times. Never mind something different I guess.
Cool
An angry Gordon is tiresome, a curious Gordon is amazing.
Whitefish, Gordon Ramsay is sailing into Uncharted Waters ? ! 🐱🐉 🐱🏍

Gordon's truly passionate about his craft and I guess that's what has got him to the level of sheer excellence.
Is that the same whitefish as in Canada?
