I’m not quite sure this test is accurate for a couple of reasons. First usually the decibel reading is usually taken from the front at a meter away. You had it set right next to where the passive radiators are firing so you only truly gauging your mids and highs from reflective sound. Secondly it appeared they were running on battery power…..are you sure they are equal on battery? I know the boombox3 is 130 watts on battery and 180 watts on a/c power not sure what boombox2 is rated at for output. As bass sound is Omni directional (unless you have an end fire cardioid setup), mids and high are at there loudest point at where ever they are aimed at in the coverage of the sound field. I can’t say if the boom box 3 is worth the upgrade from the 2, however I can say the the 3 is at least $50-$100 over priced for what it is. It a great unit for it intended purpose of portable. With that said it only really sounds good up to 60% volume and after that the sub amps pukes out and drops off leaving harsh highs and an improper mix of sound. With the eq on the app you can stomp on the highs to get them under some control however there isn’t enough power to support the sub end of the mix. As any know it takes a lot of power/energy to move air for a sub and they can only put so big of an amp in a small package to support that. If you ditch the portable aspect of it,you get more bang for your buck with a part box at that point in sound.
Its doesn't matter whitch jbl boombox2 or jbl boombox 3 which louder then the other. Yes the boombox3 is louder but however i am happy with my boombox 2.
Sure, this test is just for overall understanding. It's not that accurate, and it's fine. But I'm pretty sure, that it's important to take Avg. into consideration, not max. Boombox 3 could give a few harsh loud sounds, and it will make louder noise because of that. But it doesn't mean, that it sounds louder. So, average numbers should be more important here, I think
If you wanted to see how loud they are put your phone in front of them so that way you can measure how loud they both are instead of having it on the side
@@AudioTribe I'm choosing between Boombox 3 and Partybox 310 right now. Partybox 310 lacks highs. But, probably, it's fixable with equalizer. While Boombox 3 is harsh after 50%. And I'm not sure if it's possible to fix with equalizer
How loud is 10 dec. anyway?Does it really matter?...i am completely satisfied with my BB 2....BB3 has more mids than BB2 and too much mids can compromised the balance and surround effect of all instruments and elements of the stereo sound music ...the result will be mono effect which i do not like...how ever,the EQ will always help...BB2 is enough for me..besides both have the same battery stamina so an extra power consumes extra battery and drains it faster...also the price almost 2x ...i bought my BB2 during a Sale for only 250$ while BB3 costs 520$ oh,thats too much to bear.....i could buy 2 BB2 for that and pair them via Pboost..

The BB2 is amazing - I won't upgrade to Bb3 - the differences are to small compared to the price differences. Thanks for the comment!
