They could have just as easily found a vendor to do the job. 3% chromium in the HK steel barrels will increase the hardness and corrosion resistance. It will not make the barrel easier to clean or increase barrel life like high quality chrome lining. HK is gas lighting end users like us over the chrome lined barrel issue. If you shoot 5.56 ball (or even 77 gr SMKs), a nitrided or chrome lined barrel makes sense in 5.56 rifles. HK really should offer it if Geissele and DD can produce < 1 MOA CHF CL barrels on their rifles…..and no, this is not a “match” rifle. Sorry HK

Does the decrease in gas pressure cause a decrease in reliability in adverse conditions ? I thought one of the reasons HK originally designed it with an overpressurred gas system was to force the the rifle to cycle in any conditions ?
The non-chrome lined barrel is there for a reason. 1) They have higher chrome content in the barrel hence improved corrosion/wear resistance, 2) It is apparently an issue to import chrome lined barrels, 3) attempts at chrome lining in the US were unable to meet HK specifications. This firearm is marketed as a "marksman rifle" hence chrome lining could/would degrade the accuracy the rifle was designed to meet. This is ALL a repeat from another channel interviewing HK reps. It could all be incorrect but makes sense. Otherwise, I could care less. I can never afford this rifle😂

We reuse the cardboard. But in this instance those marks are from spent cases being flung forward.
Bull barrels are for heat dissipation.
Over priced, over gassed, over weight and over hyped. Big pass!
There is a reason Norway and Britain's special forces went back to the internal piston and left the HK in the supply room ..
Nice
It’s a nice rifle but I still prefer my Sig 516
Im fine with A1 considering the price point.
Did they go with a milspec tube on a4? Original you couldn’t use an aftermarket stock(b5, Troy, magpul, etc)?
The buffer tube is the same on the MR556A1 as it is on the new MR556A4. I show the buffer tube in the video with the stock off.
lmao i’m reading the comments and nobody wants it
Because they let idiots get online and run their mouth.
I have one in 11”. So I guess one of us wanted it. But I use to be poor also. Long ago😢
@@shayhumphrey3389 I’m going to laugh when all our complaining gets to them and they introduce a version with a chrome lined barrel and people like you are stuck with the unlined version
@ apparently you haven’t read enough about the barrel. But having served 20 years in the army and firing lots of different weapons. I can tell you I have shot brand new colt/FN rifles taken out of the box with chrome lined 14”barrels that didn’t shoot groups like my 11”. But it m sure the earth is flat also. Do some research and you will sleep better at night.
@@shayhumphrey3389 I HAVE an mr556a1 so I know everything there is to know about these barrels. Why you would want an 11 inch “match” barrel is beyond me but okay 😂
MR556 A4 with gas blocked adjustment
Noice 🤙🏻😎🇺🇸
I bought a 14.5” 516 complete upper from Sig for $400 a few years ago. HK has ego issues.
I would’ve bought one a couple years ago but Unless you specifically want a 416 clone, sig makes a better gun called the Spear LT
People are generally more receptive to your opinion if you don't state it as fact.
Wish we could get the QR handguard as well...
Oh Boy..another rifle I can't afford.
Over gas much?
I remember you had a video on the MR 556A1. What happened to that video?
TH-cam has been on a binge of deleting old videos. I'll have to go look real quick and see if I can find it.
Holy cow, it's from 2011 and doesn't pop in any searches. I found it in my library. This is OLD:
th-cam.com/video/Yb_Ok410yuw/w-d-xo.html
@@Militaryarmschannel the a1 video u put link for is marked private!!!
@@shaunzimmerman661 Well that explains why it's not showing in searches. It's sold old it goes back to when I still hadn't figured out my current intro and music. I used some music that was royalty free, until it wasn't. Some company that had nothing to do with the music claimed it as their own and then went around filing complaints. So I made the video private to avoid a strike. With the new editing tools I can edit out the music, but I don't have time right now.
No chrome lined barrel ooooffffff
Not even nitride, just flat out untreated
Ok Mac. Bcm or this???? 🤔
For practical applications, BCM for sure.
Mac, the new HK is absolute perfection and it's worth every cent of $3,500. This video was very interesting and informative....... well done Brother, as usual. I wonder if you're planning to do a review of the 11 inch barreled pistol version anytime soon? Just can't get enough of this one if you know what I mean. Semper Fi Mac
We want a G36 thats stamped metal. A flat top though
I still think the caracal is the better purchase
$ 3500,00 sorry but it's a no
Given it doesn't differentiate much from other high quality gas guns, does the nameplate and accuracy justify the price?
It's the question for the ages...😅
YES! HK perfection except no substitute!
If you say (any brand) firearm to people who know guns they go "ah ,cool"
Then say its an HK -----, Those same people say ,"Oooooh that's cool"!
@@j.robertsergertson4513no, only you. Those that actually know and shoot guns understand that many guns are of equal or better quality to HK, for much less.
Keep justifying your overpriced purchases.
@@j.s.7366 . Just as good never is ,
Just as good ! ,I don't have to justify HK ,it speaks for itself ,as evidenced by your constant whining and comments on my posts. Only you !
I suppose your vast experience with hi-points qualifies you as an expert in the firearms industry, I'm not .
If you ever actually get to a gun show ,the range and there's an HK and a "Just as good" similar firearm side by side ,observe ( that means shut your pie hole and watch) which firearm people gravitate to and want to handle first and more often . Wanna bet it's not the "just as good" gun?
@ is that what you do at the range? Lay out all your HKs for the poors to come finger fuck? Do you buy your HKs just so to show off at the range? Seems like you do. No one gives a shit about your guns. My constantly “whinning” on your posts is bc wannabe rich guys talking shit to “poors” irks me. Just one of my PRS rifles costs more than every HK you listed combined on your last post.
The lack of chrome lining is disappointing.
What can this do that my 1k build cant. 🤔
What???????? Still no review of the brand new 10MM Ruger LC Carbine PCC??????? How about a burn down video of this AMERICAN MADE masterpiece? Make it so................ :)
The price is crazy.... BUT I really like the rifle, so I'm buying it anyways, I don't care if HK hates me, I'm a masochist.
3900 shekels for the outlet mall kraut rifle. Hard pass
Poor😂😂😂
@@j.robertsergertson4513you know he's right 💥
Can afford one and almost $4k for this is ridiculous, regardless... @@j.robertsergertson4513
@j.robertsergertson4513 Anyone paying 4k for a gun with a Semi Auto Bolt Carrier Group and a non chrome lined barrel is just paying for the name. Waste of money. Sig Spear>Hk MR556A4
@@andret.1675 SIG pulls similar price hikes for their guns. The only difference is one is made by a company with known quality control issues and the other will rebarrel your rifle if it ever gets shot out.
I live in Indiana like you and I would love to shoot like I used to when I was younger but I just can’t afford it. I also was in the Army and deployed with different weapons and I don’t care one bit for the M16 or any variants of it. I would rather have an M14 for warfare, it’s ridiculous to use a damn varmint rifle to shoot an enemy with. That’s my choice and if you have ever had to put a lot of ammo through a di rifle you will know how hot that bolt assembly gets and what powder fowling will do to the bolt and trigger group. M193 ball ammo chamber pressures aren’t even close to M855 when you demonstrated suppressed settings for a weapon designed to not shoot 223 Remington or M193.
oh my
