The worst thing about this is that, if you try to destroy this gray things from the safe spot(behind the T-Rex skeleton, where grenades can't reach you), nothing will happen. BUT it will totally work if you do it while standing between this skelletons. Why the hell does it have to be so cryptic?!
I never figured it out either. What's funny in hindsight is that in the introduction of the level it says, "Shake a leg if you want to escape the island." It gives you the hint right there. I've facepalmed so hard because of that.
I loved how they structured this game. In one version, you play as Grant trying to flee the island. In the other version, you play as a raptor hunting his ass down. Such a great game.

That plus the speed of the raptor and how high he can jump made me feel so badass. As a kid this made me live out an imagination as being a deadly dinosaur ripping shit up. Good memories
@@burningpegasus this game ending is sorta bittersweet. You can scape the island as raptor, but your foe Grant survives as well. A good ending would result into raptor eating him 😂
I remember when this game caused a lot of raised eye brows. Playing as a raptor to kill people was like a big deal among most adults. This was at a time when video games where considered as toys and there was no rating system back then. How far have we come when we have games like battlefield and assassins creed which objective is to kill people.
The piece at 13:35 made me almost quit the game. I really hate that guard which killed me too many times when trying to pass through.. thanks to this video I finally made it
I could never pass the visitor's center level on Raptor campaign... seeing I could never figure out just what exactly to do when reach Dr. Grant. Now I know and franky I'm disappointed. Technically you didn't really beat Dr. Grant you only sent him running... again.
... For some reason, I feel like watching the Carnosaur movies. I mean, their schlocky dinosaur movies, but seeing a Raptor solo humans like this... puts me in the mood for some schlock.
Dude, I played this on PAL, and the music here is much faster due to the FPS increase. Also, this jump was impossible and total bullshit 7:18 - I think I never got past that part.
Not really, we humans eat Cows, Pigs, Deer, Goat, and some times Horse, Dog, Cat, and Monkey. It would only be cannibalism if it ate another member of its species.
@boss12 The reason why I used Velociraptor's claw attack against the Security Guards and Dilophosauruses most of the time is because its bite attack is less damaging compared to its claw attack.
Screw all the horrible blind jumps in this game. I never figured out why this one raptor has such a massive hateboner for Grant. He literally breaks out of the cage, catches a scent, and just goes OMG I WANT TO EAT THAT D:

I remember trying to leap attack grant - failed every time because I think he had a lightning gun or whatever modern cattle prob thingy, toasts the shit outta you
So rampage and the original jp jgenesis take place on the same island, but just two different endings and the raptor escapes on the cargo ship and grant too because he was gonna go to the roof on the helicopter but the building exploded. Nice Easter egg.

I did. But it was really hard. And if I didn't have the password I didn't always succeed at doing it again. The controllers are sucky too though.

Just occurred to me that all the security guards are pallet swaps of Grant; maybe it’s the Raptor’s perspective, he sees him everywhere.

Fun game! Insubstantial, but it's fun to play as the raptor and the Grant segments have a really strong JP feel to them.

My only experience with this game was as a rental many years ago. I think I never knew the raptor could jump on enemies. 🙁

I never could beat either characters story. Id get to the end and not be able to win. You just bring bones down on the raptors and grant.

It took you 15 minutes to achieve what I couldn't achieve for 16 years.
I am always stuck at level 2-3 with all these games when I was a kid. But this brings back a lot of great memories.
