I was terrified of the dinosaurs as a child. Now that I had the nerve to watch the movie the T-Rex is still one of the scariest creatures I’ve ever seen. Awesome movie.
haha yop that stuff was hard, like it wasnt hard enough to navigate and dodge the dino, you also had to collect the f**** gas -.- aahh fun frustrating chilhood times :D i was always so scared of playing this game alone, especailly the levels with raptors chasing you.
+Mighty Soul Yeah It was pretty suspenseful too with Lex sneezing while the T-Rex slept on the riverbank. They barely made it out once the T-Rex started swimming for them.
Me, too :D . I have been in the last lvl playing with the raptor but I never managed to beat it and when I saw how to do it I was like ... seriously??? THATS IT????
Good for you 'cuz objectively, this is not a very good game. Has some good ideas (stun weapons, some inventive level design like brachiosaurus riding & boat level, cunning and resourcesful raptors), but averagely done. The engine & physics could really use some serious polishing, and some parts of the last level are downright brain-dead (cut a wire with a syringe? seems legit). 2/5 on my scale.
Yea, I feel teh same way. I mean, I loved it as a kid. One of the first games that I really enjoyed... But, yea it could really could have been much better with some good polishing, and optimization. I remember it would stutter/have a lot of slow-downs, especially when jumping. (can see it happen around the 11:48 mark in this vid)... Uggh and the janky-ass movements. But then I found games like Sub-Terrania, and Bio-hazzard battle, and I still play those games to this date every now and again!
Oh the 90s when level design and enemy placement didn't have to make since. The Visitor's Center would totally be right next to an active volcano filled with dinosaurs chillin XD
Yeah I’d make it to the final part and that’s it because I had no freaking clue what to do with those raptors. I would shoot rockets, lasers, smoke...It wasn’t until a year ago I watched a play through and saw how it’s done. So specific and vague.
Man those really were the good ole' days, back then Sega was the shit. Despite being ridiculously expensive, I absolutely loved going to BlockBuster to get a game. I remember the joy it gave me to get to BlockBuster and see that they had a copy of Mario Kart in stock for SNES ( I was lucky enough to have both systems). I would be on the edge of my seat the entire way to the store, anxiety killing me from worry that someone was going to rent that game I was coming for. True nostalgia.
I know the feeling. Kids nowadays will never know what its like to be that eager of renting a game physically, not buying it with no almost no effort from some cloud provider.
This playthrough is incredible. You can really tell that you've mastered this. Timing, jumps, all of it. Like poetry on the Genesis. And as someone that really enjoys watching other people play games online--it's amazingly entertaining to watch. Great job mate.
Oh, the tension when I used to play this. I'm still getting nervous watching this at all the spots I subconsciously remember where raptors are going to be, haha. I remember throwing five million grenades at the T Rex head and still being afraid to pass because he might eat me. Boat levels always seem the hardest in any game and that little 20-pixel raft was no exception!
great game, first one I ever finished 23 years ago...fun fact if the T-Rex eats you all that's left is a little white hat sadly floating to the ground...
I was 8 when this came out. I was so excited to rent it. However, I got very frustrated because I could never get past the second (or maybe 3rd??) stage. I rented it multiple times without being able to and gave up. Now, 26 years later, I can finally see the rest of the game :D
I got a Sega Genesis for Christmas one year solely to get this game. Oh the memories! It hasn't aged well. Too short. They could've done more with it. Still a great game.
M Champion You ever play it's sequel Jurassic Park Rampage?. That's even shorter if you can believe that. And easier too. JPR is still a good game though.
TheRedNeckGamer777 Lol the last level on Rampage Edition always scared the crap out of me =P, still does till this day when I play it, I aint going to lie lol ;)
I played this at a Toys 'R' Us on a Sega Genesis demo unit before I even bought the system. The raptor roaring "SEGA!" was the best part! Now I got this game and the Genesis console in my video game collection.
The opening scene where the T-Rex breaks loose is actually terrifying. Yeah. Being a young kid, playing this game all alone in your room late at night with the lights out, and that crazy strobe effect starts making the room flicker? Yeah, that was some scary stuff.
When I was 5 years old I was so excited when this game came out. I spent countless frustrating hours on it because it was probably one of the hardest games to beat, playing as Dr. Allen Grant of course. But waaay easier to beat playing as the raptor.
The map song at 11:01 was literally in ny dream last night. Someone was playing it on a guitar ever so clearly. My childhood subconscious must have showed up.
I loved this game! Especially the soundtrack. The last levels felt as if you were really in a urgent situation. I wish I could forget and play this game again!!
You must have been a pretty stupid kid to think the T-Rex was saying that when the SEGA logo normally says "SEEEEEGGAAAAA" but instead is the T-Rex saying it, even with the words in big letters right there in case you didn't hear properly. The fact that you edited your very basic brief comment proves my point that you're not a smart individual.
haha man man memories. as a kid the first level was already to hard.. when you fall of the trees in a looping. we called the support number which was in the game case for help
Obv beside Sonic 2 this was my FIRST game I played on Sega. When I got this for X-mas we played JP ALL DAY. Infact in till we beat it I didn't even touch Sonic. Had so much fun playing it. Pretty easy game for a 6 year old. Running around as the raptor and eating everyone was so much fun.
I remember seeing someone play this in 1994 and thinking how good the graphics are.. Jurassic park was my favorite movie an still is. Weird how they have comps when they weren't in the movie yet.
I forgot just how creepy and sinister the sound effects are in this game was. Between the dinosaur roars, the human screams and the music, this game could've easily been modeled into a horror game.
After all those years when this game came out.....all the way up to now and watching this for the first time in YEARS......It's the first time i realized the T-Rex roar at the very beginning is roaring out the word "SEGA".
There is only one thing sweeter than sweet baby dinos and those are my sweet vidz. Also I played this so much as a kid that my dad thought I was a statue built through the carpet of the house.
I remember getting this for Christmas. The rafters was a bitch, and I almost everything to collect the items. Couldn't pass the raft for a while, stopped playing the game until a friend got gamer magazine and gave me the codes to skip levels.
Great playthrough I only ever finished this game once as Doctor Grant, I more often than not ran out of ammo. I'm honestly surprised that the Raptors didn't agro you at the end.
IsaacRyanMathews I dont remember how I learned where to do that, I think somebody told me probably my cousin since he knew EVERYTHING about video games while I was growing up.. but had I not known that it would've frusterated me to high heaven. Since I knew that though, after some practice, beating this game wasn't that bad.
I about shit my lil power ranger whitey tighties when i somehow made it to the raft level. Needless to say, I died and never made it back. I used to play as the raptor too but always died in this weird spot that I can't even find ppl on TH-cam reach in any gameplays. Then 24 something years later when I picked it back up via emulator, I still couldn't beat this shit, lol. The music is effortlessly badass. LOVE the way the Genesis made games sound so sinister.
I don’t know if it was intentional of the game developers, but the T-Rex wrecking the car in its mouth during the opening is accurate to the breakout scene in the Crichton novel, which didn’t happen in the movie
Ugh I miss this game. I used to play this for hours every day back in the mid-1990s. I really need to buy this game again ('thank you' to the jackass that stole this from me...).
Cool! I don't know why I never had this game back in the day cause it looks really good! I loved Jurassic Park on the Game Gear it's pretty similar to this.
The old days of when kids used to rent games from Blockbuster lol
And when games actually had demo stations at stores. This one was always on demo when I would go to the department store with my mom.
Lol ik right
The music used to scare the shit out of me as a kid and gave me nightmares... but I kept coming back to play it O_O
Icealote Finally, someone I can relate to!
Same here
I was terrified of the dinosaurs as a child. Now that I had the nerve to watch the movie the T-Rex is still one of the scariest creatures I’ve ever seen. Awesome movie.
T-Rex: *Growls, sounds like: "SEGA!"*
Don't forget level design itself is fucking nightmare fuel.
The intro with the T-rex destroying the car is kinda scary lol
the music used to spook me a little when i was a kid
How T Rex was looking at you in the car tho
Scare the shit out of me
Can't tell how many times I smashed my controller as a kid trying to beat the raft level. Fuck that shit!
Omgggggg, for realll.
haha yop that stuff was hard, like it wasnt hard enough to navigate and dodge the dino, you also had to collect the f**** gas -.- aahh fun frustrating chilhood times :D
i was always so scared of playing this game alone, especailly the levels with raptors chasing you.
***** That level was easy. I had a pain beating the next 3 though. The final level was easy.
***** Haha same here!
Yea I did the same lol
The raft level actually takes place in the novel. It's cool they put it in the game.
+Mighty Soul Yeah It was pretty suspenseful too with Lex sneezing while the T-Rex slept on the riverbank. They barely made it out once the T-Rex started swimming for them.
Never realized that
I was terrible at this game I couldn't ever get past the 3rd level thanks for the walk through now I have seen the ending 20 years later
Me, too :D . I have been in the last lvl playing with the raptor but I never managed to beat it and when I saw how to do it I was like ... seriously??? THATS IT????
Same
Man I loved this as a kid. I spent hours playing it.
George Perez .....hours? Man I spent days in total, this game was my drug when I was smaller
Lol you just had to one-up him, didn't ya
Good for you 'cuz objectively, this is not a very good game. Has some good ideas (stun weapons, some inventive level design like brachiosaurus riding & boat level, cunning and resourcesful raptors), but averagely done. That fucking raft level alone takes several weeks to get through - minimum.
Oh the 90s when level design and enemy placement didn't have to make since. The Visitor's Center would totally be right next to an active volcano filled with dinosaurs chillin XD
bloodmoon0746
Right? Also, only ballers go to the jungle in white pants.
If you look at the map, the visitors center is actually a good ways from the volcano.
Jurassic world fallen kingdom
For some unknown reason, the music scares me?
I could never figure out what to do on that last bit with the raptors. Now, 20 years later, I have finally seen the ending :P
FrozenEternity it took me HOURS to figure it out and I figured it out by accident lol
Ikr
Yeah I’d make it to the final part and that’s it because I had no freaking clue what to do with those raptors. I would shoot rockets, lasers, smoke...It wasn’t until a year ago I watched a play through and saw how it’s done. So specific and vague.
FroznEternity Don't feel bad #metoo
I never completed the game because of those raptors.
That damn raft level.
Good ol days.. And streets of rage was kick ass!
Yessir! Blockbuster video on Friday night.
omg i remember that game lol
Golden axe honorable mention
An I have both of the streets of rages 1 an 2
Anyone else remember renting this from Blockbuster back in '94?
Gene Erols Video for me lol
I owned all Jurassic park games on genesis, sega cd they were amazing to play through
Ahh the memories. I always liked the art design and atmosphere in this game. The spitters sound like enraged, mutated chickens.
Man those really were the good ole' days, back then Sega was the shit. Despite being ridiculously expensive, I absolutely loved going to BlockBuster to get a game. Right? This game was ridiculously hard. I never beat it.
I know the feeling. Kids nowadays will never know what its like to be that eager of renting a game physically, not buying it with no almost no effort from some cloud provider.
This bring back memories
Daron P Of anger and frustration... This game is hard as balls.
lmao hell yeah @ZerglingOne1
Really hard game, but boy was it beautiful, and what a soundtrack! I kind of want to play it now.
Really goes to show how far video games have come in the last 30 years.
Sega had amazing games during 92-95..its one of them
Yea like Road Rash and Toejam and Earl
This playthrough is incredible. You can really tell that you've mastered this. Timing, jumps, all of it. Like poetry on the Genesis. And as someone that really enjoys watching other people play games online--it's amazingly entertaining to watch. Great job mate.
"Did the T-Rex just say Sega?!"
You can always count on the avgn
no he really does say SEGA in the game.
Oh, the tension when I used to play this. I'm still getting nervous watching this at all the spots I subconsciously remember where raptors are going to be, haha. I remember throwing five million grenades at the T Rex head and still being afraid to pass because he might eat me. I just relived my childhood through 27 minutes of intensity! Thank you for the upload 😊
Man, this brings me back to the day.
I swear that I prefer Genesis/SNES graphics rather that playstation 1 and nintendo 64 haha
Eric Plourde They age better
T-Rex (Roaring)-"Segaaa!"
The T-Rex saying Sega brought a smile to my face
Always loved Alan's little death/hurt noise, lol
I played this at a Toys 'R' Us on a Sega Genesis demo unit before I even bought the system. The raptor roaring "SEGA!" was the best part! Now I got this game and the Genesis console in my video game collection.
+Mighty Soul uhm... you mean the T-Rex at the beginning? lol
*****
Sorry, I totally should have caught that.
I miss this game! I still remember the last level password for it.
CVVVS8ER
Good times
only god knows how much i loved this game..me and my sister played this day and night!
Ah Sega. Back from when games based off movies were awesome. Jurassic Park, True Lies and Demolition Man. All awesome sega games.
The terminator was a great game too, I really enjoyed it (hard as fuck as well) and there is a Sega CD version with better music and more levels.
That damn T-rex was everywhere.
I really loved this game back in the day. My favorite sega opening ever
The opening scene where the T-Rex breaks loose is actually terrifying. Yeah. Being a young kid, playing this game all alone in your room late at night with the lights out, and that crazy strobe effect starts making the room flicker? Yeah, that was some scary stuff.
I like the map song
Me Too! This game is pretty baddass!
I never played it but i thought about picking up a old copy off of Amazon or something.
I would watch my cousin play this for hours at my grandparents house in South Texas. Oh the nostalgia!
Great memories.. The music and the sounds really take me back to when I played this as a kid. The boat level was always the hardest part for me lol.
The brain is scary sometimes lol
Holy shit. These were some of my favorite memories growing up. Sega Genesis got me threw a lot of shitty years.
it was a hard game..never finished even level 1..this back ti mid 90s
wow you fucking suck then
@@gdicommando4456 Most people I knew sucked at this game.
I kicked this games ass and rampage edition funest games EVER
That's some good nostalgia.
I loved this game! Especially the soundtrack. The last levels felt as if you were really in a urgent situation. I wish I could forget and play this game again!!
I was all about this game as a kid. This one and Rampage Edition. I liked the SNES but hard and no save points. Never beat that one.
i know that T rex saids sega now. but then i was young i always thought it was vadar lol
davidevgen and the funny thing is, your little kid mind doesn't even question why it would say something so random, lol.
I was never confused!
I thought it was LEGOoooo
You must have been a pretty stupid kid to think the T-Rex was saying that when the SEGA logo normally says "SEEEEEGGAAAAA" but instead is the T-Rex saying it, even with the words in big letters right there in case you didn't hear properly. The fact that you edited your very basic brief comment proves my point that you're not a smart individual.
GDI Commando how long it take you to come up with that you old fat kid who smells like bacon
as a kid I was obsessed to this game and used to see them in my dreams
I remember playing this when I didn't have a PC.
Fuck this was so much fun.
haha man man memories. as a kid the first level was already to hard.. when you fall of the trees in a looping. we called the support number which was in the game case for help
I remember getting pizza and renting these games at the Hollywood video store. The good ol days!
dude this brings back crazy memories for me, thank you
90's memories. My all time favourite saga game. Music is just so good.
This game was so brutally hard for a 10 year old. I never made it past the volcano as Grant. You killed this game, good job
I remember seeing someone play this in 1994 and thinking how good the graphics are.. Jurassic park was my favorite movie an still is. Weird how they have comps when they weren't in the movie yet.
Wow the nostalgia
Que nostalgico, que dificil y que miedo me daba cuando era joven
Muy bueno!
Oh yeah, this game does look great for it's time! I remember renting it from Blockbuster back in 1993.
miss the 90's
Always loved the raft scene.......It was very difficult
I forgot just how creepy and sinister the sound effects are in this game was. Between the dinosaur roars, the human screams and the music, this game could've easily been modeled into a horror game.
After all those years when this game came out.....all the way up to now and watching this for the first time in YEARS......It's the first time i realized the T-Rex roar at the very beginning is roaring out the word "SEGA".
Hard but still WAY better than the SNES version
وش اسمها العبه في العربي
Im near34 i loved this game bk in the day. I bout cried looking at this
Holy shit. The moment when the music on the Main Hall level at the end hits
Wish we could turn back time to the good old days, when I had my gameboy now its xbox...its xbox... :'(
omg I had to look this up because I had a flashback and I remember having so much fun playing this. I am glad you uploaded this. thank you.
That t Rex "SEGA" is still awesome!!!
Great playthrough I only ever finished this game once as Doctor Grant, I more often than not ran out of ammo.
I'm honestly surprised that the Raptors didn't agro you at the end.
Brings back so many childhood memories. Thank U so much for this.
I always used to shit my pants when the T-REX smashed through the background
I just found this for $2.00 at Goodwill. Case and book too.
what a score dude👌👍
Man nostalgia! This game was super hard and I'm convinced was made to never be beaten lol. I never made it past the third level
I finished the first three levels as a kid, but that was it. So I finally decided to see how the game ended. The last level has some kick ass music.
I remember this! Used to be one of my favorite games on sega
Well good thing an asteroid took care of this. Next it's us.
Holy crap..LOL I forgot about the Talking T-Rex "SEGA"! Lol that was funny shit back in the day.
this game was so darn awesome i still play it on the sega genesis.
REALLY?! You just freaking stand in the middle of the raptors and lob nades until the bones fall??? --___--
You have no idea how many hours I spent trying to kill those last 2 raptors 20 years ago -_-
i had no clue, could never beat that last level, and it was so easy lol
IsaacRyanMathews I dont remember how I learned where to do that, I think somebody told me probably my cousin since he knew EVERYTHING about video games while I was growing up.. but had I not known that it would've frusterated me to high heaven. Damn that intro was pretty scary !
My Grandma and Grandpas old TV had this wierd color change setting. So I was genuinely surprised when the gas bombs were white instead of pink.

I never could get past that one level involving the T-Rex let alone that level involving the two raptors.
I don’t know if it was intentional of the game developers, but the T-Rex wrecking the car in its mouth during the opening is accurate to the breakout scene in the Crichton novel, which didn’t happen in the movie
holy shit this brings back memories, I've never finish this game to this day
7:26 Dr Grant gets bit by T-Rex: "OOOHH"....lol
Oh god, i remember those spawning out of nowhere freaking compies...
oh the memories.... god damn this game. Iam lookin at YOU raft level. lol anyway great work :)
Man, you make all that look easy. But that shock though! Lol, this is an awesome video!
LOL
The intro is actually scary
this is old school gosh i remember playing this!
