    Hi about how many cold start driving cycles does it take for transmission to relearn after reset??

    Hi! I have a Kia Sorento 2018 LX V6, when I do the adaptive reset everything runs good but after a few kms I have shift shock again, specially from 2nd to 3er gear. What do you thing is the problem. I already change the transmission, TCM, speed sensor, etc etc.

    Is there an affordable maxisys i can purchase that will allow me to do the same? I am not a shop or garage so soending 1400 to 2000 on a tool i may not use all that often seem cost prohibative for me.

    I'm having delay shifting between gears 2 and 3 . Did you think transmission reset would fix it

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello.
      It is highly unlikely that a transmission reset will fix the issue( has never worked for me) but it is a first step. more than likely there is an internal issue with the transmission which could be pressure/electrical or mechanical.

    Hey Jeremy. 2007 accent, you think autel unlock the smartra module? Thank you

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If its locked, try unplugging the battery and performing a static discharge for 1hr then retrying, this normally fixes the issue.. if not then you might need a new smarta module.
      The smarta modules are not normally locked, this occurs when there has been unsuccessful key programing attempts or a faulty module,
      always verify the circuit in its entirety(Smarta circuit in this case)
      the autel can program the keys on this vehicle-- you just need the pin code.
      thanks for the question and for watching

    If you replace a trans component, say the temp sensor, but don't reset is it possible that the car could go into limp mode as a side effect?

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the parameter reset will set allt he learned values in the tcm to zero, since a temp sensor is variable and its state will change depending on temperature a reset on the tcm will not affect this sensor. on ****ON THESE VEHICLEs****. thanks for watching

    Don't you have to do relearn after the reset? Relearning is driving around keeping throttle 10-20% etc....

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes you do. But it's better to let the client do the learning. Because you drive different then the client. I always advise that there might be a slight delay is shifting after the reset and that they need to go through all gears, city and high way in one trip. Never had any issues so far .
      Thank you for the question.

    I changed the ATF in my 2011 Santa Fe V6 to Valvoline Maxlife two times in 10000 miles. I get hard upshifts off throttle and sometimes jerky downshifts. I wonder if a reset is needed due to old fluid at 120k miles?

    Hi, good informative video. What was the shifting issue you were having? I have a Kia Sorento with a shifting issue and was hoping that a re-learn using the Autel MaxiSys the same as yours might fix it as everything else checks out okay on the scan tool. Cheers. Ollie.

      Is there a C.E.L on? if not
      I would suggest you check with your local Kia dealer and see if there is a update available for your vehicle-- The 2010-2015 Sorento had an update for the Tcm- I have a 2011 and the vehicle was having a shift shock from 1st-2nd gear, early in the morning. After updating the tcm, the shift shock was no longer present. This was the remedy in my situation but you could have another issue also.
      I Also performed a complete Fluid Flush on the Transmission.
      There is a cost for this as it is a TSB and not a SA/SC or RC.
      Hope this Helps you.

      did you fix your shift problem ? I have been working on my daughters 2011 Sorento and it's giving me fits, it's always had some shift problems but started to get worse a couple of months ago and seem to lose power and has very slow acceleration. Will shift from 1st to 2nd fine but anything else is iffy, if I accelerate really slow I can get it to shift up to 4th, sometimes 5th, car will not go over 60. Funny thing is it shifts fine in sport/manual mode (still low power and slow acceleration) but will not work right in auto mode. I pulled transmission and replaced the torque converter, didn't help. Also replaced the throttle body and throttle position sensor, still the same, no codes or check engine light.

    Nice. Will this work of Dual Clutch Transmissions? My car is a 2016 1.6 LX Turbo. The car doesn't want to go into reverse. It's strange because, my car was fine the day before. I'd took it to the automatic car wash. But the next day, my battery was low, where it wouldn't start. So "AAA" came out and jumped started it. The guy from AAA put the jumper cables on, not even 2 seconds, and it started right up. We were both surprised at how short of a time that it took to turn over. Anyways. When I went to drive it, it was sluggish. So at the time, I just assumed that it was the battery, parked it to let it charge the battery up. But when I'd put it in reverse, it wouldn't go. So I ran a scanner, and it gave me a P073E: Stuck actuator on closed position.

      @@JLsAutoSolution thanks for the link. Yes. I had read that a few weeks ago, after doing a scan on my car and looking up the code. Mind says on the :Blue drive" scanner that it's the code, but it gives more details, stating that the actuator is stuck in closed position. I had got some other codes later on that displayed, 1921, P074A and P0620 all are Transmission Control Unit codes. But P0620 is from the Power Train Control Unit. It states a possible short to the generator. I'm wagering that the TCM is bad. But each transmission mechanic that I've taken it to. They have told me that they aren't familiar with the codes and suggest that I take it to the car dealer. So neither have looked at the transmission at all, to see if the TCM unit is bad, corroded or a possible short. I'd went to the dealer a week or two before that and the story kept changing from, it was just the actuator to the car now won't drive in any gear to I now need a transmission. I'd listened to my gut and was right. They'd lied. The car does drive forward. I got my car the hell away from there.

      Inexperience can lead you in the wrong direction.- if you are having circuit codes- then the system needs to be tested first.(power grounds and controls) you might just have a bad valve body( suggest alldata DIY) 30$ get you access to codes/definitions and troubles shooting charts..

    Will it reset transmission getting it out of limp mode?

    • @JLsAutoSolution
      @JLsAutoSolution  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LIMP HOME MODE IS A CONDITION WHEN THE PCM /TCM/ECU IS MISSING SOME CRITICAL DATA INPUTS AND IS UNABLE TO ADJUST SPECIFIC APRAMETERS BASED ON THOSE INPUTS. SO IT USES SOME PRESET DATA STORED IN IN CONTROL MODULE BEIN G AFFTECT IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO A SHOP AND HAVE IT ISSUE DIAGNOSED.
