Dan, my first port of call after scanning the vehicle would have been to view live data on the gear selector. This should remove doubt about the position and point you in the correct direction? Hi Diagnose Dan. I have a V W Amarok 132kW CNEA engin code. I have a hard start problem. I scanned it with a Delphi DS150E scantily, brought up P019 error code Pressure Sensor low. I check the output of the sensor signal pin and the voltage was zero. I continued doing further fault finding and found that the pump in the tank is getting to the fuel to the high pressure pump. However the vehicle is starting it dies after a while. I ended up taking the pressure regulator mounted on top of the HPFP out to check if there was any dirt ir metal sgavings/swarf inside the pump, there was nothing. Absolutely clean. Now here comes the interesting part. I ended up disconnecting the high pressure line going to the fuel rail and connecting a hose to it and the other end to a bottle and surprise surprise, no fuel was coming from the pump. Please advise do I replace the pump or regulator(If I can get it) or what other tests can I do to ensure the pump is functional and it's only the regulator.
    Please Assist.

@@Diagnosedan thank you Dan I’m thinking of starting something up eventually I just need the money. You don’t have to check, but on my channel I’ve diagnosed/repaired electronics for years and have a pretty good mechanical knowledge too 🤟 Your videos and strategies are perfect though, you break it down part by part for what the system is and work out in your head the mechanical/electrical logic behind it all. Honestly Dan thanks so much 😎

Rarely do you see oems come up with repair solutions like this video shows. Usually they don't care if you have to replace an entire assembly because of a faculty switch or sensor. Many time I've actually found 5hd supplier of faulty switches and bought 8t directly from them vs buying a complete assembly from the OEM

My dad has a 2014 A6 TDI Quattro. It has a small bit of clunk when coasting to a stop. Somewhere around 20 mph as it down shifts from I think 3rd to 2nd the transfer is not smooth but it is not overly harsh. I think it might be related to the new running software after the diesel retune not matching the original tune for the transmission?

I'd add in the price of gas times 2, plus an extra 100 euros of labor to fill it up.
And I bet low fuel wouldn't be a problem again for that customer.

@DiagnoseDan love the very informative videos!!
I live in the United States and have a 2011 GTI - DSG (MKVI). I'm getting a similar warning, while the PRNDL recognizes it is in Park, after I turn off the car I get the "Move selector lever to Position P!" warning. Then I get out, close the door and the fob will not lock the car. Other than that, the car runs perfectly.
Could this be the same thing? What part would I need?

  • @craigs902

Since this is about DSGs there are videos on UT where you can reset the DSG by depressing the accelerator for 30sec with the ignition on. Does this actually work? Many people say it does but I’ve never heard a VAG tech mention anything.
