Was this today , i was flying to EGLL then LEBL and then back to EGLL i noticed the same tower controller was on as i recognize the voice of him. Loved this video! Just wanted to tell you , don't panic on vatsim everything will be okay even if you mess up a bit like you were thinking about , the controllers will always be respectful and make sure to not stress you. Good luck flying on vatsim more in the future.
Great flight - For reference the touch down zone at nigh is the additional lights either side of the runway centreline that ends just after the PAPI's. Great vatsim comms also!
Honestly I think if I watch a few more of the vatsim videos I might be able to fly on vatsim, hopefully not make a mess of things. Love your videos by the way.
Well done on that, you're a braver man than me. However, I'd welcome more VATSIM vids, as I'm getting more confident in handling and operating my aircraft, and I feel the next progressive step would be a short hop (maybe to Dublin?) and get myself back into online flying after a break of nearly 20 years. YAY for more please.
Really good job I think. I absolutely agree with you, VATSIM adds a lot of pressure but I thoroughly enjoy it too. BTW I'm about at the same level of proficiency with it, but only fly the Airbus. I expect making the switch between aircraft adds to your workload too.
Some nice flying there. Pro tip, if you want to improve your radiotelephony, I'd like to recommend you take a look at the UKCAA's CAP 413 document. It's effectively the Bible of how to communicate to ATC effectively and with the correct terminology!
Amazing as usual! Your content is great. Just one thing to say when you are flying on the vatsim network you aren’t aloud to disconnect from the network, it states this when your doing your exam for vatsim-no hate though regardless amazing content just thought I would let you know.
You sure about this? I asked specifically on the forums about this very thing when the 777 came out - they all said disconnecting, enabling auto cruise then reconnecting at 1x speed (assuming you carefully reconnect) was no issue
@ hm I’m not saying you’re wrong but from what I read when I first signed up to vatsim they said “pilots must remain on the network until landing” maybe the rules have changed?
For me Heathrow is normal and gatwick is confusing for me because I fly out of Heathrow on vatsim so much I became used to it one time I got delayed 3 hours because of “traffic” and arriving into Heathrow on rush hour is a nightmare I have to do 50 circles around the airport then I’m rushed of the runway
Nothing at all wrong with the landing. PAPI lights are generally ~300m beyond the threshhold and the T/D zone is ~1000m. Aim for them in the dark and you should be good. The multiplicity of white lights mark out the T/D zone. I enjoy the shaved down online videos - cruise can be very very boring!
Hello! I've been having an issue with the PMDG 777 since launch, and I am unsure how to fix it.. Every time I select "set as arrival" and press fly at any airport, the aircraft launches itself to around 270kts. Is there anyway to fix this? I use "final" as the startup config, and I've also tried using my own but the same thing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If you’re wanting to practice your landings, FSiPanel is a great tool for getting setup. Check out my previous live streams recently, we’ve been using it a lot with the 777.
Hey quick question i have the same specs as you everything but only i have a 3070ti and ryzen5 5600x do you think if i buy a ryzen 9 5900x3d im gonna gain much performance? With frame gen mod
Yeah I love mine for looking around on the ground when taxiing. That’s where it’s most valuable. Got a dedicated video on the channel if you want a deeper dive on it
Observer mode is a good place to start. You can see and hear everyone but they can’t see you. Pick someone to follow and pretend you’re them, see if you do the right thing!
Hate to be that guy correcting someone on the internet but the term is ‘QNH’. It was one of the question codes originally developed at the turn of the 20th century for morse code. If you wanted to ask what the pressure was at mean sea level you would transmit QNH. Likewise pressure at airfield elevation would be QFE (both terms still used today).
I've been flying the 737 for the last year. And now I'm on to the airbus 320. Had no desire to get the 777 upon release with all the website mayhem and initial bugs. I might think about getting the freighter version after 2024 is released. I like to do the opposite of whatever the majority is doing with everything in life. I don't buy into the hype and bullshit of PMDG. I will let the other suckers pay them to beta test their crap first before I drop a dime.
As a heavy Freeware user, I guarantee you the PMDG 777 is some of the finest Payware money can buy in this sim. It’s worth the hype. I can’t say the same about many other companies but this time it’s s the real deal.
"ok, gonna take you around the hole airport then" xD

@@AirNOTT ohh never mind , controller was online a lot then! Safe flying sir
last time i came to heathrow the approach was hella rude and moody but as i listened its because of some child flying 😭
Yes let’s gooo finally a new Vatsim video

hey, im a controller on vatism and i can help you with what you need (only in the us lol idk about britain)
I’ve yet to fly in the US…I hear there’s a bit of a difference?
Thank you!
as a little tip, the touchdown markers will always be abeam the PAPIs
man ur game is so smooth amazing to watch, more video pls
I flew into Heathrow when it was very busy, messed up because it was like my 5th flight, wasn't banned! You're doing good lol
Ah yes, I’ve yet to do a Heathrow landing. Maybe a different experience to taking off?
You should not fly to a busy airport like Heathrow when you are new. You ruin the experience for everyone
@@nascimentol835 didnt mess up until taxi, when i realised i quit instantly

In auto step climb it will adjust the target in the window on the MCP for you.
i was waiting for this one , thank you cpt
Nice to hear someone pronouncing schedules correctly

Man ive had to wait 30 minutes from IFR clearance to push and start, then 20 minutes till taxi at EGLL... still fun sometimes
only becuase rthere are like 100 aircrafts and 1 atc

Any chance you could give SI a new shot? I would like to hear how those announcements work. Still using BATC.
The real 777 and PMDG have auto step climb. You don’t need to set the altitude in the MCP. it will self change
Thanks, Richard!
I have done a video on how the hydraulic system works if it helps 🙂 Great video AirNott and the sim looks amazing!
Amazing, I’ll check it out, thanks!
