When I was waiting for hip replacement and went on a cruise, I used a cane. My biggest fear was trying to walk up the long, relatively steep gangway to board our ship. I worried about it for weeks before the cruise. When the staff saw my cane, they directed me to an entrance to the ship at ground level. After my surgery I still had trouble climbing hills, and I just explained that to the woman guarding the door. She'd had two knee replacements, so she let me enter on the lower level. It's been a year since my second replacement, and I will be able to go up the gangway on our next cruise!
Thank you so much. A good tip I saw in another video is to put a piece of tape with your room number across one side of your suitcase where it is easily seen.
I always book travel during peak times so that we have at least 48 hours leeway if we are trying to meet up with a ship. We use the extra time on arrival to rest up and tour the port area. And I have all my important documents in my carry-on packed the week before we leave so I can be sure I don’t forget anything.
Lovely video! Thank you for sharing some great information. Your wrong passport story reminds me of one of my biggest fears - forgetting my passport! 😊

I'm so glad that you were able to find a way to board the ship comfortably.

Great suggestions. Thanks!
Do you usually purchase travel insurance when cruising?
Always!
