An issue with online renewal. My daughter had difficulty getting the passport system to accept her uploaded photos. We tried and tried, even using a white sheet behind her and extra lighting with an iPhone 12 pro, but never could get a picture that the government passport system accepted. After many tries, we drove over to Walgreens and had them take the photo. They also emailed a digital image that we were able to upload. I don't know if others had that same issue, but I wanted to share our experience.
Linking SSN to passport is BS! The infernal revenue service should have absolutely nothing to do with the state department’s legal obligation to grant passports to all citizens. 🤬
Public Corporate is as public corporate does where the plantation management system and the herds are concerned. Public corporations masquerading as government that is. They are consolidating control everywhere. Making a list and checking it twice.

The SSN is owned by the Social Security Administration and not the IRS. The IRS is a user of the database. Likewise the states use both the SSA database and the ME system at the IRS to compare income. This is further emphasized by the fact that employers submit W-2 data to the SSA and not the IRS.

@GenxGypsy. Dublin Airport has had Preclearance by CBP at least since June 2007. It is currently in Ireland, Canada, Caribbean and UAE. It's wonderful upon return to the US to bypass CBP. However, be aware the wait times at departing airports can be up to 2 hours! Most of my 10+ trips in Ireland and Canada have been near 30 minutes in line. A CBP Officer a mother with two preschool children trying to cut the 2 hour line & sent her to the back of the line with the threat of refusing her ability to fly at all that day! The people in line silently snuck her to the front of the line, lifting the line control ropes to hide them behind groups of tall people! The people in front watched for the CBP officer, whose rounds brought herto our line a few times. Everyone in line was completely silent about moving this family forward to catch their flight. The kindness in face of the officers threats was beautiful.
We nearly missed our flight home from Dublin because of the lines and lines and more lines back log. So far it’s the only one I’ve experienced and wasn’t a huge fan. Personally…it was more stress/panic inducing for the mom of 5 heart than it was worth.
From the Homeland Security website - As of today, according to the Department of Homeland Security, all states, the District of Columbia, and all territories are issuing REAL ID compliant driver's licenses and IDs, meaning no states currently lack REAL ID capability; every state is now considered compliant with REAL ID requirements. What were you referring to when you said only 70% of the states?
Good video, but a few parts need to be clarified regarding the ETIAS. Around 6:00 of the video, you mentioned that you would have to apply and pay for the ETIAS (visa?), but a bit later, you said that if you are over 70, you do not need it or have to pay. That info sounds conflicting to me. Also, it does not say " if you are coming from or going to an EU country." It is only if it is from or to a country that is (or was) part of the Schengen Accord).
Easy, if you're an old gizzard like me U get a break. One of the joys of my living now in Central America? they give "tercera edad" discounts. Makes me feel like a king buying overpriced goods!!! lol,
Bare feet while traveling is literally stupid. If you've ever had to get out of a wrecked car, train, bus, plane? Does the thought of walking through broken metal and glass, BAREFOOT, and then staying barefoot until someone can find shoes for you, REALLY SOUND SMART?
I was shocked when I got off the plane from another country and passport control just let me walk through because they already identified me from face recognition. They greeted me by name, and welcomed me home. I never showed my passport. This is actually a little scary. What happens if someone running the computers decides to cancel you?
I also went through US Customs on the Ireland side when I flew out of Dublin. Was great to land home and just go on with my life instead of having to wait in a massive Customs line after a big flight. Would honestly love to see this become the norm in more foreign airports.

I understand that buying luggage that suits the most restrictive airline is a good way to go, for example if a bag is ok on RyanAir you’ll likely be ok on every other airline out there

Correction, it is not the EU countries but the Schengen countries.Switzerland, Norway, Iceland are not in the EU and you will still need to apply for the ETIAS because they are all members of the Schengen Agreement. On the other hand, Ireland is an EU member and no ETIAS will be needed because Ireland is not part of the Schengen area. The info you presented can be misleading.
You need to remind people that starting on January 8th that US citizens and others 😊non-British nationals need to apply for the UK ETA. It was super simple. They have an phone app and I got a reply within a few hours. They have several days to reach out… but it was a quick response in my case. You don’t need to carry anything with you according to the e-mail that I received. It is good for two years or until your passport expires or is replaced.
Most women "over pack". When I went to Spain in 2019, my sister told me to get a carryon only, and I did. I had zero room to bring back souvenirs. I luckily had a large hand bag, and my souvenirs had to be minimal, and fit in my handbag. I made it work....but my sister and her daughter had so much luggage. I was so upset with her because I did without certain items, and she totally ovetlooked the "pack light rule".
One trick for carry on only is to pack a few clothing items you are planning on getting rid of. Wear them while on the trip and donate them at the end. I just did this on a recent trip. That leaves you some room to pack souvenirs. The other option is to pack a lightweight duffle or purchase one or a suitcase at a thrift/charity shop near the end of the trip and check it in. I've also done this in the past. Traveling with a carry on and small backpack or personal item is so much easier and your luggage doesn't get delayed--which has happened to me several times!

This is not the visa soon to be required by the European Union (ETIAS), but a separate one because the United Kingdom is not part of the European Union. For American citizens travel to foreign countries is going to get more complicated in 2025 and require more pre-planning before you leave home.
True, and this is the same if you are traveling to Australia. You will be prompted to purchase a Visa for temporary stay or whatever duration of time each country requires, and you can purchase online, which is cheaper or purchase it at the airport, much more expensive. The “kids fly free” thing isn’t right. Anytime someone is taking up a seat, they should have to pay for it. The airlines will just raise their prices on the rest of us to make up for the “free” flyers.
Wait, what? Children under 13 fly free with their families? Who exactly is footing the bill for those seats? I’m beyond frustrated with constantly subsidizing other people's kids. If you choose to have children, it should be your responsibility to cover their costs, not mine. Why should the rest of us face higher fares so your kids can travel for free? They're your kids, after all. The entitlement some people have, expecting the public to shoulder the costs of their choices, is truly astonishing. Outrageous!
Right, first time I have ever heard this. I think it said 13 and under. 13 years old is an eight grader getting ready to go into high school. What the heck !!
No, she didn’t say 13 and under travel for free. The rule is the airlines will seat kids aged 13 and under adjacent to accompanying adults at no additional fees above the cost of the seat.
Yes! Thanks Jadore! The Family pays for the seats! SOME airlines don't immediately assign seats. Some Families arrive at airport & learn that (for crazy reasons) they are scattered around the plane! And the airline could require a "convenience fee" to conjoin the family seats‼️🤬 Think "Home Alone". 😢
ALL kids are welcome and we should encourage and subsidize kids because when you are old and gray, those kids will be working and maintaining the system that affords your perpetual wealth… don’t be like China
@ It would be nice to know your child is not alone somewhere on the plane sitting with strangers, and not being ripped off having to pay even more money to sit with your child.
Tough love, don’t postpone the Real ID date because people or states didn’t comply. We need to start going back to the days where there are consequences for not complying with requirements. There’s no excuse for not getting Real ID taken care of by now. There is too much chaos because there is a lack of enforcement with laws. Time to be adults.
Some states are trying to make real ID meaningful, others are half-assing it. We're still a Federation of states, and the Federal government still has to defer to the sovereignty of the states in some things. Tell me how Real ID makes you safer in any real and meaningful way.

Well, since many Americans don't travel outside of the US, they don't want to pay the money to get a passport. I've have hundreds of college age students who do not have a passport nor show any interest in traveling outside of the US.
The U.S. is a big place with a large variety of cultures/climates to explore all on its own. If you only take a trip every few years, you could go decades without ever having to leave the U.S. for novel experiences. Couple this internal variety with the cost and hassle of international travel (vs just throwing some stuff in your car and driving off), and many Americans can't justify trips outside the country.
Many Americans have very provincial attitudes and don't value experiences over material things. They rarely speak a second language and are intimidated if they go someplace where English is not the official language. Many people don't even travel outside their own region in the USA and have very negative views of people and places they have not even met. We have many wonderful places to see here at home and they don't even travel for that and they don't have the excuse of not having a passport.😢
Y'all... they are just FEET. They are probably cleaner than hands because you don't use them to wipe your butt and you can't get your toes up to your nose to pick it. And don't even bother telling me you wash your hands after you use the restroom. I wash my hands the recommended amount of time (because I'm a pediatrician and I know better), and typically a minimum of three people "wash" their hands in the amount of time it takes me to wash mine. And then they grab the faucet with their "clean" hand to turn it off. 🙄
Seriously we need to pay eight dollars to visit some European country when American’s been paying taxes for damn near a century to protect their butts. This is lame.

You go directly to your next gate upon arrival in the US if you have a connecting flight.
Don’t forget that the UK is having its own ETA starting in January for Americans. Similar to the EU ETIAS
No different to UK travellers having to pay for ESTA’s and ETA’s for US/Canada for years
@@tray2811 That’s correct but I was pointing out the new UK requirement that was not mentioned in the video of 2025 things happening that travellers need to be aware of.

I don't know if others had that same issue, but I wanted to share our experience.
please do a video on passport renewal online, especially how to send in the photo online with the application.Thanks.
Linking SSN to passport is BS! The infernal revenue service should have absolutely nothing to do with the state department’s legal obligation to grant passports to all citizens. 🤬
Like the Freudian slip, "INFERNAL",
Do you have to link it?
Public Corporate is as public corporate does where the plantation management system and the herds are concerned. Public corporations masquerading as government that is. They are consolidating control everywhere. Making a list and checking it twice.
That’s for people who owe the IRS then they will hold your passport and you will not be able to travel until you pay off or make a down payment towards whatever is owed . It happened to my brother in law … so make sure you don’t owe Uncle Sam any money in order to travel … hopefully Trump will stop that one . 🙏🏼.
The SSN is owned by the Social Security Administration and not the IRS. The IRS is a user of the database. Likewise the states use both the SSA database and the ME system at the IRS to compare income. This is further emphasized by the fact that employers submit W-2 data to the SSA and not the IRS.

When we visited Germany on a company trip, the Americans could go through the EU line when the regular line for Americans was full. Our sysadmin, from India, was not allowed to use the EU line, though; that was too much for the gate guards.

13:00 There are U.S. Customs Agents in Dublin. You went through US Customs, you just did it in Ireland. What you're referring to is different. You'll do Customs in the US, but you won't have to go back through security screening.

Same with most major Canadian airports, too

My sister and I were on a flight August 13 from Atlanta to Orlando. The lady in front of us had her bare feet on the food tray. It was so disgusting.

Bare feet while traveling is literally stupid. If you've ever had to get out of a wrecked car, train, bus, plane? Does the thought of walking through broken metal and glass, BAREFOOT, and then staying barefoot until someone can find shoes for you, REALLY SOUND SMART?

I also went through US Customs on the Ireland side when I flew out of Dublin. Was great to land home and just go on with my life instead of having to wait in a massive Customs line after a big flight. Would honestly love to see this become the norm in more foreign airports.

This is down right crazy..
Thank you for the information. Is the ETIAS renewed for every trip, once a year, or other length of time?
I believe it's every 3 years - unless your passport expires before the 3 are up
You need to remind people that starting on January 8th that US citizens and others 😊non-British nationals need to apply for the UK ETA.
Most women overpack is a huge blanket statement
One trick for carry on only is to pack a few clothing items you are planning on getting rid of. Wear them while on the trip and donate them at the end. I just did this on a recent trip. That leaves you some room to pack souvenirs. The other option is to pack a lightweight duffle or purchase one or a suitcase at a thrift/charity shop near the end of the trip and check it in. I've also done this in the past. Traveling with a carry on and small backpack or personal item is so much easier and your luggage doesn't get delayed--which has happened to me several times!
Just renewed passport online, submitted on Tuesday and received book on Friday and card within 10 days . For a government service it was incredibly easy,
Why did you choose to get both the passport card and the book? Just curious.
@@PinkieSmith First off, I don't believe this commenter. Submit renewal on Tuesday and have Passport in hand on Friday. Not even possible with a Rush order. Having the Passport Card in your wallet for domestic travel to Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean islands is just more convenient.
If that true the kiddos to you but I've never heard of such.
WARNING-This video is very incomplete. She did not even mention the new visa requirements to enter the United Kingdom starting January 2025. If you are an American citizen, you will need to apply for an online visa to visit any part of the United Kingdom.
She is discussing general travel changes. 😉
Thanks for the information and you have gorgeous blue eyes.
Great updates. As a fellow gen x traveler I like to take photos on film. Do you know if the ct scans harm the film? I am taking a flight later this month to Italy and will be taking some rolls.
I've personally never had film affected (I use Fuji) and I've traveled the world regularly since the early/mid 1970s and into 2020. You can use those film-protection bags although you might have to take the film out of the bags for inspection after it has gone through the x-ray machine at the airport.

The “kids fly free” thing isn’t right. Anytime someone is taking up a seat, they should have to pay for it. The airlines will just raise their prices on the rest of us to make up for the “free” flyers.
They are still paying for the seat. It’s the fee to pick a seat that is going away for children.
@ Thanks for clarifying that.
And the airline could require a "convenience fee" to conjoin the family seats‼️🤬
Think "Home Alone".
There's problem with Real ID for illegal aliens, but now, after lost election, this will go faster . They got only two month for signing by Joe few executive orders. You know, Joe has short working day, from 11am to 4pm, when he takes a nap.
Yes Karen! We definitely need to stay with state issued drivers licenses instead of moving backwards with real ID helping authorities increase their surveillance state powers on the individual to further monitor and imprison you in their digital gulag...
You may accept that. It’s your right. But I will not give up my right to choose what I will and will not do! Hitler does NOT have power and control of America! Despite what communists think of Trump!
It's nice that you have the ability to be so judgemental of others. Women face an added requirement of showing proof of each marriage and divorce. It takes time to get this paperwork especially if they were from out of the country. Not everything is always easy for everyone. Feel free to keep your judgement to yourself.

With regards to the liquids, we were in Spain during October. In Barcelona we had no issue with liquids in containers larger than 100 ml, yet in the Asturias Airport they confiscated a shampoo container of 375 ml. Each airport is making its rules.
Have never understood why US Citizens seem to have such resistance to getting a Passport. I’m from UK and have a Passport since I was 16.
Well, since many Americans don't travel outside of the US, they don't want to pay the money to get a passport. I've have hundreds of college age students who do not have a passport nor show any interest in traveling outside of the US.
From the US and Melanie me too…in my passport and passport card…
Cost.
The U.S. is a big place with a large variety of cultures/climates to explore all on its own.
