Hi everyone! What kind of applications can you think of for this kind of animation? Let me know in the comments below! :)
I think it could be applied when you want to animate a quick evolution of an organism, for example a timelapse of an embryo development. It's exactly what I'm tryin to do with this tutorial, btw thanks man!
@@enricogarozzo8077 Mr Enrico, how are your embryo animation? Do you start with one cel, the egg? I am trying this too but it is very hard to get. Today I saw this video above and I will try again.
How to animate a cell multiplication, from one cell, the human egg, for example, until the morula stage, that have about 32 cels but within the same space or volume. This embryo growths only in cell number, keeping the same volume... the cells will divide but, at the same time, and each one is decreasing in size to mantain the same volume, same radio or space, inside a kind of shell. Mr Enrico Garozzo seems to have the same problem to solve. Sorry some mistakes in english. Is there some animation node that could do this? Think how a chicken embryo developts inside the egg... The number of cells increase but the egg don't increase in size... Thank You in advance. Rogerio, from Brazil.
In the first seconds of your video, you sound like a guy offering a candy to a children and kidnap them lol XD but great tutorial dude!
@@bulbulitobayagbagan9633 That's...kind of rude, but glad you liked the tutorial I guess
Awesome! I was actually in search of a freelance animation guy for hire, to animate some of my 3dCAD models as they deform under external pressure and eventually collapses in on itself.
But now that you gave me a decent understanding of the work flow for such animations, I realized that I am perfectly able to do this on my own so I really don't need to hire an expert.
Thanks again for making these tutorials, I will surely check out more as I go on learning myself to use blender. Cheers
This is exactly what I've been looking for, thank you!
Glad to hear it!
@@TheCGEssentials Same here, just got me excited about trying something. Thank you!
Thanks for this! I had a biology project where we needed to make an animation of a cell reproducing and I finally found what I was looking for after a lot of research!!
Maybe use Meta balls, to do the effect of them spliting
I’ve been thru this more times than I want to admit! I’m also in 3.1. I get the same result over and over using a glass sphere and a heart. Result is part of the sphere show up on the heart, but not more than a handful of vertex shapes. I’ve tried selecting from mesh view, getting front and back parts.
I’m new to blender, so forgive my poor use of terminology.
One of the best channels. Vary high quality content and straight to the point. Thanks!
My mind is popping with ideas for this - thanks for sharing!
Perfect!
You sir, are the best person on the planet right now. This is exactly what I needed and your tutorial was perfect. Thank you so, so much.
Very very useful. I have watched tons of videos about Blender but this one about morphing was the first! Please keep up posting more content. 🙏
JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR, GREAT VIDEO MR CG ESSENTIALS!
Already subscribed and liked!
Exactly what I needed! Thank you!
Glad it helped!
this is a great tutorial, A+ for not laughing while smooshing doggo into a ball
I bet having the roughness and metallic values keyframed as it turns into a sphere would have the Terminator 2 vibes. Going to have to that a go. Great tutorial video as always.
Brilliant! I was looking for a way to morph game objects for a video game project I am planning for and this explained a lot.
Awesome!
Thank you so much for making this video. My mind is exploding with ideas of what to do with my Zbrush models. I feel giddy. Blender is so cool. Thank you.
VERY FAST AND HELPFUL WELL DONE
Thank you! Saved my life!
Great video dawg!
I was looking for that, thank you for knowledge.
Glad to help!
Is there a way to do this with an animated character? I want to do a ontogeny sequence that has an animated character.
THis is awesome thank you!
Nice, thanks, that's pretty much exactly what I was looking for ;)
Amazing video! Helped me so much thank you!
Thank you so much. This is extremely helpful and informative.
Really helpful. Thanks buddy 👌
Glad it helped
Thanks man, this was super helpful!!!
Glad it helped!
the creapiest intro i ever seen
crazy and good describe :D
Well of course, I'd like to see if it works with a wolfman or other transformation type animation ;
Well it should work for most any kind of transformation animation...
Great!!! Thanks a lot!!!
👍
@@TheCGEssentials The option to Apply as Shape Key is no longer available in the current Blender version, what's the workaround ?
Appreciated this was very helpful.
I was a bit confused momentarily while watching this excellent tutorial. Instructor mis-spoke: 60 frames, not 60 seconds.
Woow. Thank you so much
No problem
Reminds me of quagmire toilet morph
thank you! :)
No problem 😊
Does it work the same if you start from the cube and morph into the dog?
Thanks!
I fucking love you bro this is so sick
Lol - glad you liked it
3:06 what a chonker
LOL
3:05 That went from Lassie to American real quick.
LOL
Amazing tutorial! Thank you so much. Does anybody know how to morph between holed objects like for example a rock and ring? The shrink rap is not working for me 😢
Amazing video.
Thanks!
That good Blender 3.0 but how about morphing move exactly follow eye, lip, nose, and ear from human face to dog face?
thank you
Welcome!
Helped a lot❤️
Glad it helped!
@@TheCGEssentials i was completing an order and was wondering how to morph shapes and this actually helped me completing my order. Also checked out many of your other videos which actually help a lot. Keep up the good work sir❤️ appreciation and love from asia❤️
@@mohammadawaismalik6900 Thanks very much!
Hi Justin, I loved your The Sketchup Essentials Channel. Can you upload the video of male character animation in blender herre.
Would I be able to import it into blender
Is there a way to transition from one material to another separate material? Or will that not work due to UVs?
i have a problem, and im very new but i have an animated cube moving from side to side and i want it to morph into a sphere but when i select the shrinkwrap and select my cube it doesn't adhere to the sphere shape it only pops in when it gets within the sphere
Instead of adding a cube with shift- A, can I just file> import > another obj. File Of a different animal and then shrink wrap that onto the sphere? Morphing from one animal to another? Please help ASAP x
With the transition to the cube do you need to set a base key frame at frame 1 as well as where it starts to transition?
In other programs I've used key frames, anything before the first key frame isn't taken into account
This is old Blender version, Can you make same Morph for Blender 4.1.1 because there is lot change and lot feature.
The tutorial: how to ship shape
Me: trying to make a remastered version of the bad Apple (totally not touhou fan)
Key mesh: hold my beer
Good stuff! I have a question regarding shape keys specifically the "Join as shapes" option. I noticed I can select my source then target and it works nicely. But if I try to further edit my source shape the target doesn't auto update the way it does in Maya. Is there a way for Blender to behave this way?
why only to basic shapes? 😭 Is there any tutorial for morphing between complex shapes????
Is there a way to keyframe what materials go on what faces over the course of the animation? For example, if the dog was the first object and it morphed into a globe, I would want to keyframe the colours to blue and green but also change the faces the colours were on. Great video by the way!
You should be able to keyframe all those values in the shader editor
@@TheCGEssentials awesome thank you!
dog do be kinda thicc doe
Don't be hatin on my dog! ;p
👌👍👍👏👏
Nice. How about animating to a completely different material and not just colors. I am trying to animate a decaying object so the base material is quite different with the decayed material? I cant seem to find an animation setting for two completely different material/texture. THank you
Wouldn't you just set a keyframe for one material at the beginning, and a different one at the end? You can keyframe just about any setting
Hi there, I need to make a Tomato morph into a logo - how do you use morphing in Blender, I can do it in 3D Max - But then you have to buy extra rendering software!
Why does subdivision surface cuts my object into two? 😭
Mick Jagger uses blender!
Need help with alphabet morphing for my son's project, can you help? please

I don't know the answer to this - this is probably a better question for some kind of forum, like the Blender Artists forum...
@@TheCGEssentials Thank You, I will ask this overthere. Have a nice week-end!
it doesn't work when the forms are complex((
I'm in 2.79- how do I find the button next to value to allow keyframes?
No clue - why don't you download a version after 2.8?
The CG Essentials
I was able to figure it out. You hover over the button and press I (that’s i not L) with your cursor over the button. That makes the frame.
I also didn’t download a newer version yet because I just got back into animation and that’s the version I had and knew most.
nice. But can I use it for unity animation?
It's a Blender tutorial (and channel), so...I have no idea?
@@TheCGEssentials thanks for your reply. I just figured it out :)
@@iskandarjava6608 so, can you?
@@neotokyoh yes, I just need import it to fbx.
Hey man can this be used to transform a rigged human character into a monster as an animation sequence?
I would assume so - don't know what it would do to the actual rig setup
@@TheCGEssentials I got it to work!
@@TheCGEssentials used shape keys!
Seems like this doesnt work with complex shapes, like one sculpted head to a different sculpted head, the object gets deformed and crinkled. Would love to be proven wrong, but I think I've watched literally every blender morphing tutorial on here and it seems that its always complex shape to a cube/sphere, never one complex shape to another.
i mean. you could set the initial shapekey, and then manually edit to have the different parts match to their corresponding parts (head to head, etc) before shrinkwrapping. might take a step further break up the parts using vertex groups and creating copies of target mesh broken up so you can shrinkwrap awkward parts like the mouth
Do they need the same numbers of vertices. And does the transformation have to be smaller then the initial shape. Thanks I'm advance good video
I don't believe so
@@TheCGEssentials but it need the same numbers of vertices
@@deadman-zc5ro The Sphere and the rectangle definitely do not have the same number of vertices and it worked fine...
@@TheCGEssentials then why it gives me this error?
@@TheCGEssentials will you right it work but the mesh doesn't morph good I think cuz it's different object one with a cape and deferent topology and the other is just in unform it's very hard i don't know if will find a way to make what I'm trying to do is martian manhunter shape shifter power
why my sphere does'nt dissapear after apply?
You have to remove the sphere yourselft
How would that work if the first object (dog) was rigged?
Don't know - haven't tested this
If it doesn’t, you could have a duplicate and animate the visibility so your rigged model does whatever the rig does, then the still model morphs.
4:06 sixty frames not seconds
Da doggydoggy baaaaalllllllllllllll
LOL
I tried to morph my object into a sphere but it ended up looking all weird - like trying to be the sphere but not quite. I'm trying to morph a modeled door into a diamond. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? The shrinkwrap modifier doesn't seem to be working like it does in the video. Thank you!
Ever figure this out? Experiencing the same issue.
lol, you look like my pfp
No
@@TheCGEssentials nooo im just joking ×D
