Just wanted to thank you for the recommendation on Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park. Because of this video, we made reservations for our Texas Eclipse trip. It is a beautiful park!! It was our first time in that area, but definitely will not be our last time! We thoroughly enjoy watching you both enjoying your camping, cooking and eating videos! Y'all are our HEROS! Stay safe and happy travels!!
Thanks to you we have a 10 day stay booked at this camp ground in May! So excited to be able to camp in Florida for the first time. We love this part of Florida, just never camped there. We also LOVE watching y'all camping and cooking!!! And my husband loves watching Adam in the Machine Shop. We Live in East Texas, and love camping in our 30' travel trailer..
@4:50 Family and I spent a week in Destin years ago. We rented a house on the beach (well my Brother made the arrangements) and it turned out we were scheduled ONE WEEK after Hurricane Katrina! It was go or lose the $$$. 10-hour+ drive from Atlanta. To say that trip was an adventure is an understatement!
Love state parks for the separation of sites. Most of mine in PA is only electric so having as large as possible tanks is a must. Thanks for your video!
Bat houses are recommended to be built with rough sawn cedar. The bats claws can better attach to the rough sawn wood. I know some that have lined one inner wall with hardware cloth to give the bats additional material to hook their claws onto to climb up. I may have to try that park. Thanks.
That lichen is often found on higher ground / sandy soil, if you can imagine Florida having higher ground . If its like the kind in the Venice / Englewood area, it also has a unique smell.
Nice video! Maybe you said it and I missed it- camping there also gets you complimentary access into Henderson Beach campground on the Gulf. it’s a short drive. And a great place to camp, if you can get a site.
Adam you can make several "bat" houses out of wood. I'm sure youtube has plans for material and cut list. We have the small Brown bat here in Michigan and a lot of people have a bat house in their yard. Remember bats eat thousands of mosquitos and other obnoxious pests so let's keep 'em safe.
Abby and Adam, I'm always envious of the camp sites you are able to acquire. Out here in Washington, any state park is a 9 month reservation period so it's nearly impossible to get a spot. Oh, and very few can accommodate my 35ft Rv. Living vicariously through your adventures always. Safe travels you two! Were you able to get your Ram fixed yet? I couldn't tell if this one was yours or the in-laws.
Thats a beautiful spot! Can't agree more with you on not to stack people on top of each other, only because you could for the sake of maximising profit.
Great video! Thank you. We are putting together an eclipse trip to Texas and this park may be our first night from Jacksonville. Traveling in 07 class B so we can fit just about anywhere but we are old and like to be close to the rest room. Any suggestions on sites?

Those "moss" are ground lichen. Some kind of Cladonia species.
