    I live in this area and I visit Paynes Prairie often. If you want to see horses and especially bison, I recommend waking up early and going to either Cone's Dike or Bolen's Bluff trail early in the morning. A year ago, I lived in a place so close to Paynes Prarie, I would just walk straight to the north entrance where La Chua trail is. In fact, I think I recognize that same alligator you guys saw. If you want another place where you can see alligators up close, then I recommend Sweetwater Wetlands Park which is in the exact same ecosystem. You guys probably passed Sweetwater wetlands and my old home when you went from Bolen's Bluff to La Chau. The limpkin squawks on La Chau really brought back some good memories.

      Wow! You really lived close by and you brought back some great memories for us naming all those trails we recognize! We'll have to check out Sweetwater Wetlands when we're in the area again. It was such a cool area to see so much wildlife. It really felt like we were in Jurassic Park! 😮🐊

    Haha, at the 7:10 min mark you talk about how there's definitely gators in the green puddle.... and you are so right! Last weekend I swung by the state park with my mom and saw a mama gator and her 10-15 babies in that green little swamp pond off the side of the trail. It was awesome! Great video!

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh awesome! We always hope to see the gators on the trails, but from a good distance! 😅 The babies must have been a cool sight to see! 🥰

    The bird on the rail was a white egret, the flying bird was a hawk, the brown bird was an ibis, the bird with the big fish was a cormorant. I really like you two, so fun!!!

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome, thank you! The one we weren't so sure about was the loud brown bird on the wooden walkway. We've seen Ibis before, but never heard them be this loud!

    I lost my RV after hurricane Ian but with your videos I am still camping every week. Paynes Prairie was the last park my family and I visited before the storm. We saw bison, they came right in front of the tower and the visitor center. Keep up the good videos, you guys bring joy to my life. Thanks for sharing your adventures ❤

      Oh wow. 😮 We're so sad to hear that. We hope you get back on your feet soon and get to get back in a cozy RV sometime soon. And we hope we can at least bring a smile to your face through some of our travels. We have a lot more planned especially in Florida this year. Sending a lot of love to you and well wishes adridimar. 💖

    Oh I love watch towers!!!! (:

    Cool video! That gator 🐊 was pretty cool. Paynes Prairie is beautiful. It’s always a beautiful site when traveling up or down 1-75. I haven’t been to the main state park in a while, but I’ve hiked the Bolen Bluff Trail and got some nice views on that observation deck. UF is my alma mater, so I’ve hiked many of the trails in and around Gainesville.

      Whoah! That's so awesome that we were in your neck of the woods. You must have seen some cool things on those hikes. We can only imagine! We've also heard there's some interesting bats around the area that we'll have to come back and see. Great to hear from you Victory! 😊

    Paynes Prairie is a beautiful park! We saw the wild horses from the top of the tower. No bison on our visit. We saw a few Alligators, too. Lol, when we were there, the trail had a lot of poop and mud. Such a beautiful area! We did sit at that bench with a gator just sitting there. That must be the hang out spot for them. 😂

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's awesome that you went and saw the wild horses too! Poop, poop everywhere... Wonder how long that bench has been there? It's the perfect viewing spot. (Although it's really a bit crazy to sit that close, isn't it?!)

    Gm 🌻 I was watching one of your older videos when you first rented the van remember Sarah saying she like the Ford I had the same van for work my old job and I remember we need to have the battery looked at or changed or something like that it's underneath the driver seat but we should have taken it to the dealership because it was very difficult to get to see off so if you don't take your van to the dealership make sure you ask them if they know how to do what they're doing the van is very special the battery is huge I hope that helps can't wait to see the bikes where is the video have a great day guys

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good morning! You're right Kerry! The engine battery for the Ford Transit is under the drivers seat. We haven't had to do anything with it yet but knew it was there if we did. We'll have to figure that out when we get there! Ha! We finally got the bikes in the van and they're so cool! Can't wait to film some of that on a few trips we're taking very soon all in Florida. Woohoo! Always love hearing from you! 😊

      A van is a gamechanger when it comes to travel. Especially if you get a van that you can stand up in! It makes adventuring so much more comfortable when you have everything you need with you. We didn't want to disturb the alligator and definitely didn't want to make it angry. We couldn't believe that bird walked right in front of it! 😮😮😮

    • @PSAdventures
      @PSAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, we haven't heard anything like that, so I hope we can still see them on another trip! We haven't called the park, but based on some quick online research it sounds like there could still be around 50 bison in the park. I read one article that talked about some male bison having to be removed recently due to them being aggressive. I sure hope we can still see bison one day!
