After seeing all Japanese manufacturers adding some kind of automatic transmission option i am just wondering who was asking for this? There is many others things that could be improved on current bikes like suspension or brakes instead adding unnecessary complexity on top of thing that works already well.
Took one out for test ride. Tbh I was very impressed and the e clutch was nice to use, didn’t get enough time to appreciate it for the hour I used it for. I wanted one but the colour I wanted was 3 months away and that was over summer, so I didn’t bite, shame as I really wanted one and had mad visions of de catting with cheapy Aliexpress race system….I’ve had them before and they are fine. I’m now looking at a CB1000 Hornet now as the pricing point is a no brainer versus this 650 even with e clutch. Nice review 👍
QS works only while you are moving; when stopped, you still have to hold in the clutch lever (or you’ll stall). This e-clutch takes care of your clutch lever completely.
I have the 2022 model. TBH the E-clutch looks terrible from an aesthetics perspective. The functionality is fine but it just looks bad. If they could put it inside the engine casing without the huge lump then I might spec it but until then I would not. Currently Honda NZ are ONLY selling the E-clutch version of the CB650R in NZ which is nuts. I'm so glad I grabbed a brand new 2022 model for a discount.
100% agree with you about cruise control. They couldn't have done cruise control without having a RBW throttle though and if they did RBW throttle then they could have also done better TC, ride modes, up and down QS (without E-clutch) etc and this would have been way more interesting to me than a big ugly box on the side of the engine that actuates the clutch for me. I love Honda but I really wonder what they are doing sometimes. Kinda ignoring their hardcore fans and focusing on beginners? I mean, the 650R isn't a beginner bike IMO. Even if you get the A2 restricted bike, it's still a big, heavy bike with a lot of torque and you probably should have ridden a 250 or something for a while before getting the 650R and if you have already ridden a 250 then you already know how to use a clutch. An absolute novice should not ride a 650R even if it has E-clutch. That's just my 2 cents though.
@@emadreviews That is at the wheel, not the crank. Usually you lose about 15% of power through the transmission so 81.9/0.85=96.35hp which seems a little bit high but maybe they had particularly dense air on that day from weather etc? The bike is designed to be right on the limit of A2 compliance i.e. 70kw which is 93.8hp at the crank.
The bike is a little more expensive, but what value do you put on that e clutch for a person that wants it? Seems like a really nice upgrade. Now that you have reviewed a few of these e clutch models, is it starting to stick on you at all?
It’s a great option for new riders who might feel a bit uncomfortable with clutch control, as well as for experienced riders looking to make city commuting easier or reduce hand fatigue on longer rides. I’ve reviewed a few models with the e-clutch now, and it’s definitely growing on me! Thanks for watching!
I was going to buy one till I found out it had a e-clutch, sissy bike, more crap to break. And the back fender length wow. I don't buy new bikes with more then one mile on it either. Put a real speedometer on there too. Also lower the price 4k.
There was a factory that was made there to make this bike specifically.... Did they take it to Vietnam due to free trade agreement between viet-India? Someone said so
This looks soo boreing. The engine is interesting but whoever designed this bike really phoned it in. I prefer the fast, sporty look of kawis. The design doesnt not compliment the engine. Major fail imho. And i heard it doesnt have a tachometer, is that true?
e-clutch is awesome
It is indeed!
yes, the next model they are going to add training wheels!
I bought mine as a beginner...best decission ever...and a nice review btw very well done...detailed, clear
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your review, Friend! I wish you a lot of new guests!

Product surveys. There were less new riders because they couldn't ride gears and only stuck to scooters which are automatic
what do you expect from generation where guys do make tutorials??
Good stuff man

Hey Em, how do you think E clutch compare with quick shift? Which one is better.

@@emadreviewsthanks for your reply, BTW how is H2 SX SE review video going? Been really looking forward to that!
@ I found one finally🙃 will be working on it this week!

if Honda Corporation was watching this video, what would you tell them about this bike?
Tell them to implement this tech across their line of motorcycles.
Lower the price 2k
@@efonwang for what
It makes 95,6 HP my brother :)
@@manwithplan3735 I trust cycle world’s dyno of the 2023 model year which put it at 81.9 HP and 42.97 ft.lbs of torque.

I need your suggestion please 🙏 I have z900 2024 it's worth it to change it for CB650????
I. wonder if water from rain goes inside the exhaust since it is upwards facing.

What happens bro if battery weak will the clutch work
Shouldn’t be a problem since worst case scenario you can just use the clutch lever like a normal bike.
should have just updated the cb650f, would have looked much better, much more like the old Hornet.
Could you tell us about the nk800 by cfmoto?
I’ll look for one to review! I don’t know much about them
im shocked they didnt just make it another hornet
Will it come to India 🇮🇳?

wrong on all counts dumb ahh
It sounds bad
OEM exhausts will continue to get quieter as noise pollution laws get stricter:(
