Gladbach played very exciting football in the 70s. High pace and very skilled players. Not this endless passing you see nowadays without tackles and defenders who run around with their arms behind their backs
nothing better. I really appreciate you posting these games during this time period. Gives me chills of when I was a young player trying to make it.
Great upload. Actually this is the 2nd leg, played on March 20th 1979, one day earlier than the other Uefa quarter finals for some reason or another.
That strike by Deyna was amazing!
Das waren noch tolle Zeiten . VFL Borussia Mönchengladbach ein Leben lang und darüber hinaus .
Wenn unsere heutige Mannschaft so einen Drive haette
Gladbach is one of the best teams in the 70s..Netzer,heynkes,vogts,wimmer,simonsen.stilke,reiner bonhof...
In addition to the also Danish Jensen who later went to Real Madrid and Lothar Matthäus who played with Borussia M the following year's uefa cup final.
The old Böckelberg stadium. And the Pitch smells like real Football. My favourite time for watching Football
Another good piece of football history documentation. Thank you for this. Interestingly, the footsge is announced as the QF first leg, but the reporter says that Mönchengladbach advanced to the semi-finals with this victory.
This is the return match. In the first game they tied 1-1 in Manchester.
I wonder if former players buy such DVDs to rewatch classic games in which they played? I am sure I would if it was me.
Helen The Bell travelled to Germany to watch her beloved Man City and ringing the bell. 😍😍😍
It's not the first leg - it's the second one 21.03.79.
A cette époque, les clubs anglais perdaient rarement contre les allemands.
1976-1977 European Cup: Borussia Mönchengladbach All Goals (Road to the Final)
