    Great videos. How would you compare radiora3 to homework qs.? We are building a new home and trying figure out what lighting control to use. I am worried about going all in with QS and not being able to troubleshoot or make any changes as a home owner. It seems like with radiora3 it is much easier to add lighting or make changes in the future.

    • @adelux
      @adelux  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for reaching out.
      First I would say it all depends on how many lighting circuits you need to control.
      I’ve always found that lutron solutions fit very well the type of project they’re meant to. So there shouldn’t be much confusion there. The solution you should be using on your project should be kind of “obvious”.
      Surely with HomeWorks it’s a bit more professionally involved, but it all makes sens. It’s the nature of it really, not at all an impediment if system been implemented correctly from the start. On top of that user can make loads of programming changes from the app.
      Also with HomeWorks is more like you implement the system fully from the start.
      You may plan to add like “the landscape” in the future. But not like one room or a circuit here and there….
      RA3 seems so cool though and offer that flexibility that a wireless system offers.
      Sounds like you’ve made your choice already 😉😉
      Good luck with your project 🤞🏾👍🏾

    I'd love to see a video on best practices for naming scheme on homeworks QS (location, sub location, device name, location name)

    • @adelux
      @adelux  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I touch on this subject on my earliest Homeworks videos. My take on this is that I always use the same language (naming scheme) as everyone else on site. If there are no naming on floor plans on certain project therefore I will implement it myself and make sure we are all agree with those with electrician, client etc ... Hope this helps. All the best

    I have a Lutron RA2 system installed in my home in Brooklyn. What a nightmare. I have wasted so much time with this system, and it is still not working properly. I don't know why you'd want to get this system in the age of Alexa and Google home. I've spent a ton of money $3,000 to $4,000 to get people here to set up it right (builder had installed it) and it's still not working (that is NOT the cost of the system, that is JUST THE COST to fix it). Insane really. My belief is this company may have made sense a decade ago but now is a nightmare. Their supply chain to reps is not oriented or incentivized to solve problems. I feel a need to warn others.

    • @adelux
      @adelux  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Greg! Thank you so much for your message! I am so sorry to hear about your experience and I fully understand when you say it is not the price of the system but the price of fixing it.
      When clients ask me which brand of lighting control is best? I always reply that it doesn't matter which brand you use. What matter above all is: How your system is being designed, How it is been installed and finally, how it is being programmed. Of course I'm not familiar with you current install and again im sorry to hear about your experience. Our biggest competitors aren't other brands or other professionals but disappointed clients. Hopefully you can find a local professional that can help you solving your issues. Good luck !

    • @adelux

    but i have a question... how many QS Processors do I need in project and how can I calculate it?!

    • @adelux
      @adelux  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! 👍🏾 well you as much QS processor as needed…🙃 that’s the one million dollar question really 😅. All depends of the size X type of project you working on. Impossible for me to give you a one fit all answer that will guaranty the best result for your own project. Let’s just said that a processor is very powerful and can control a lot of equipment. Most of the time one could be « enough » but there’re a lot more parameters to take in considération and very often it make more sense to use more than one.

    Please can you cover Grafik eye QS integration with Control4 and the hardware/software needed. Together with adding further control4 switches and programming

    • @adelux
      @adelux  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe.....one day...for the time being, you’ll need a Lutron NWK interface, telnet into it to get all integration ID’s of all your Lutron équipement. Then on the Control4 side, you will have to use the relevant stand alone Lutron drivers. Hope this helps. Good luck 😉

    • @adelux
      @adelux  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hahaha very good question!! Thanks for your comment and feed back !
      1 - I would say that as long as a Lighting Control System is well designed, perfectly installed and programmed properly they all “virtually equal” - that’s what’s really important.
      2- Personally I use Lutron 99% of the time.
      All the best!

    Great video, very useful information thank you. RA2 Select looks like the best option to retro-fit smart lighting to an existing property without major rewiring, but I can see that on a larger property the 100 devices limit could be reached fairly easily with several zones, controllers, and blinds per room, plus any repeaters required. Is there any way to increase this to over 100 devices? I've seen references elsewhere to RadioRA2 with a 200 device limit, but does it support the same inline dimmers, and is it even available in the UK?

    • @adelux
      @adelux  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment and kind words. You highlighted a great point. 100 is a lot but not enough for larger project. I always advise to use the correct solution based on the size of the project; which will be in this case the use of Lutron HomeWorks QS. Never try to make RA2 select a HomeWorks system, there will be too much to compromise for the client at the end. What you can do however, is to optimise the Homeworks system to fit budget. There're many ways to do this. Hope this helps.

    • @benwillcox8551
      @benwillcox8551 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adelux thank you, I understand Homeworks QS is a much more powerful and comprehensive system, but for a retro-fit in a recently renovated property the convenience of RA2 Select makes it the only viable solution, accepting the limitations in functionality vs Homeworks QS. I saw in this document www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocumentLibrary/3682773_RA2_HWQS_comparison.pdf that there is an intermediate system called RadioRA2 which is a bit like RA2 Select but with support for 200 devices, however not seen any where to purchase this is the UK.

    • @adelux
      @adelux  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      OK, so you're talking specifically about a retrofit situation. Thanks I understand now
      1- It's been around a couple of years RadioRA2 is no longer advertised in the UK. Although it's a wireless solution, RadioRA2 doesn't use in line dimmers (so some wiring involved in most cases)! we were able to do DALI with it so the 200 devices were quite handy.
      2- If you need > 100 devices but you don't want to touch the wiring, You can do a Lutron HomeWorks QS system using Lutron Wireless equipment (Homeworks' in line dimmers, picos etc...- physically same as RA2 Select but with HWQS part number )
      3- Use RA2 Select within system specification.
      This is only my comments / recommendations
      Hope this helps
      Thanks

    Great video. I thought I would mention that there is a price cut-off if there are a fair amount of shades. With Ra2 and Ra2 Select, each roller shade or Roman requires a $250 antenna. It doesn't take much before the upgrade for QS or QSX is cheaper.

    Lutron Homeworks system can be controlling IR devices, like -TV, AC, etc through Global cache IP2IR device or any other?
    also please suggest which integration is better -control4 or savant or crestron with lutron homework system?

    • @adelux
      @adelux  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can build a driver inside Lutron homeworks QS. If I need IR personally, I’ll use the control system rather than homeworks for ease of use.
      As far I’m concerned, as long as the system is well design, installed and programmed all those control system will perform well with Lutron Homeworks system. The name of a brand is definitely not enough to guaranty successful install.

    I have already quoted for more than 100 devices already, and I want to use it the ra2 select on control4, will it work?

    • @adelux

      Thanks for your message.
      Technically you can have the repeaters on the same network, but it will be like you are controlling 2 different systems/houses.
      One single RA2 select system has a maximum of 100devices. If I have more than one devices personally I’d use Lutron HomeWorks QS.
