Now that was a MIRACULOUS transformation!! The van turned out incredible and the owner reaction was exactly what I'm always hoping for but never get! 🤣 Like and share this video if you enjoyed it!!
That transformation is going to be sick! I can't wait. Just wanted to know if you are going to add your waterproof kicks on your website? Keep it up bro! 😁👍
Hello, my name is Dakota Jackson and I am the incredibly grateful owner of the lovely van you see in this video. First off, 100 thank you's to Mitch and the incredible amount of work he did to restore the old girl to a version of glory I've never seen before. You have no idea how much this meant to me and my little family. It is something that we not only won't forget, but will respect to the highest degree in trying to keep her looking as good as we can. The kids have, of course, been welcomed back into the vehicle, but to my delight they have been saying things like "remember to bring garbage bags mom, we gotta keep our van looking pretty." Secondly, to those that responded with kindness and understanding. Thank you. Please, continue to give accolades to these incredible transformations and use the comment section as a place to converse, ask questions and offer support. Finally, to those who chose to take this very small snapshot of one area of my life and use it to degrade my entire character, please consider the following. Lazy, disgusting or disgraceful are words I've never been called before. I went from eagerly watching the video, excited to share it with others so they can see the incredible work Mitch does, to tears streaming down my face as complete strangers ripped me apart. I am a single mother of four children, the oldest is 7 and the youngest 2. I not only have sole custody of them, but also am the only one supporting them financially. I am a teacher, having finishing my education degree while taking my youngest with me to classes since she was 4 weeks old so that I could both breast feed her and finish my studies, I work at a youth emergency shelter, am a journalist for my local paper, coordinate a music festival, write grants for my small town to help them find the funding for community events and do graphic design and content creation on the side, as well as manage the websites of two local organizations that provide more accessible sports training and mentorship to youth. I left and survived a relationship that required a restraining order, a non-contact order and an order for a psych evaluation for the other individual. I have tried my best at every turn, in every way I could and unfortunately my poor van got the brunt of my lack of time, energy and money. I have been more concerned with keeping her moving this last year then anything else, she has a habit of flat tires, the a/c quitting on the hottest days and random lights turning on for no known reason. So much of the time it was a choice between helping a friend make a logo for her new business or cleaning the van, reading one more story or cleaning the van, staying up to watch a little one with a fever or cleaning the van. There are times that my van should have been the priority but ended up getting knocked off the pedestal with something I believe was more important. Have I treated her the best, No. Does she have to do things that are usually assigned to jacked up 4x4 trucks, yep. Did we neglect her for too long, yah. I take full responsibility for all of it. What Mitch did for us, was take us back to square one and I'm forever grateful for that. I have always believed that there is good in everyone, so maybe your cruel judgements were just the result of a bad day, a bad week or maybe even a bad year. Whatever it was, it's okay. I realize you've already made up your mind about me, and I can accept that but I'd ask one thing of you. The next time Mitch puts out a video of one of his incredible transformations, maybe just pause a minute before you go tappity-tap-tappin. There is more than enough cruelty, indifference and hate in this world, no need for you to add to it. I wish you all the best.
I'm so glad you got out of that relationship!! And wow you are a busy woman!!! Kids are messy sometimes!! Good job mama!! I couldn't imagine how hard it was have a newborn and studying!!
Glad your van got a good cleaning. Sorry to hear you received some roasting. Some of the most talented care givers I know (Including Physicians, Advanced care Paramedics) who are both intelligent and highly motivated individuals, neglect their vehicles. A dirty vehicle is as you say, a snapshot of a person's life. Anyone who has made more of that to you or about you as a person, without knowing about the rest of who and what you are, is just expressing a thoughtless reaction, and their comments should be evaluated as such. Don't take it personally. Enjoy the van, and your family.
I truly sorry for the complete lack of compassion and empathy. People can be real @$$holes behind a keyboard and screen. "There are times where I prioritize the video over my own comfort." Brother Mitch, you are working _way_ _WAY_ too hard. Your filming and editing techniques are so perfect it feels like we're there in the shop with you. No need to ruin your back and hips, my man, you can't restore your body like you can the cars you work on.
Well, we see him clean one or two of the pieces. There's a good possibility that the ones he doesn't show are ones he puts up on a table to make it easier on him! Like watching a movie where the characters are on a 10 hour trip - they didn't actually do it for 10 hours!
He's young and healthy!! This kind of work is actually very good excercise and a good cardio work out. Sitting around doing nothing is very bad for your health.
The reaction to this lady is so priceless. Unbelievably awesome job. She's right, You're not just a magician, You're a master behind your work. I wish there's a lot great creative people like you that does the job and make people happy with your performance. Well done. Keep up the good work.
Seeing detail transformations like these really change my perception of a dirty vehicle because I know the potential it has. Some people might shy away from buying a dirty vehicle, thinking it hasn't been taken care of, but really that's a point of negotiation and as long as it checks out mechanically you can save some money and get the dirty car cheap and then have it detailed (or try it yourself if you have the desire like I do) and it's way better than paying dealer prices for something.
I feel the same way. I’ve been detailing vehicles for years. Been fixing them for the better half of my life. Although I wasn’t able to pursue detailing the way I wanted due to divorce issues, I still have the knowledge. Dirt is always the last issue or thing I look at. And you’re right, as long as it’s mechanically functional, you have a reliable piece of transportation!
There is dirty and then there is trashed. My son bought a car from a person that lives on a farm. It was about this dirty but cleaned up nice. After some basic maintenance he has a good winter car at a good price. Now a car that's trashed usually means no maintenance has been done and everything is broken those you just haul to the junkyard.
Yes, but it also shows how they may have maintained the car. If they let it get absolutely filthy on the inside, they're probably not changing the oil religiously etc.
I dunno. I have a huge phobia about a car that was not properly taken care of as far as cleaning. No matter how clean you get the seats, it’s always in the seats. It’s like sleeping on a used mattress.
Thanks to you I've started my own small detailing business. I've been working on detailing cars for a tow company/repair shop And with that I was able to buy myself a car! So thank you for your awesome videos!
@@daninhaaa how long have you had your smartphone do you still treat it as you first got it? How long u been in your house? Is it treated the same as when you first had it?
This guy is an inspiration to my generation. Hard work, attention to detail, and respect. Plus dedicated to his hobby. He is really living his best life.
Well sometimes they could be on the road and the kids get hungry. And plus, kids are growing and sometimes have growth spurts which can make them hungry all the time. Trust me, I know from experience.
You have done such a good job of promoting the steamer, the undercarriage sprayer and 303,that amazon offers them as a "frequently bought together" package now.
You have the patience of a saint. Your videos are literally therapy for me. My car is almost 6 yrs old and pristine. I swore when I bought it I'd keep it clean. Washed and detailed every 2 weeks. And watching you is further inspiration. Thanks.
The part when she says “So what am I going to do with my kids now” was exactly what I was thinking after the big clean up 🤣🤣 like how am I supposed to keep this car clean with kids😩
I have much respect for this guy to do such a beautiful job. To the single mom who owes the van. I wish her and her kids only the best! She kept the van running (main priority) over lesser ones. That's a smart mom!
"What am I going to do with my kids now?" that was hilarious! I love when you clean minivans because kids know how to destroy a car. The transformations are epic.
@@craigjorgensen4637 seriously! I have 3 kids, and we only ate in the car on road trips, so it was a fun treat for the kids. Not a big deal to have a trash bin in the car and empty it out at the end of the trip.
Oh my! I can imagine the relief the owner feels, one less thing to deal with in her life. Life can be overwhelming, busy, and with all the rushing around with young kids among other things we have to do, we usually overlook the car. Mine looks almost as bad inside. Keep doing what you do mama, they won't be little messes forever. Before you know it they will have their own vehicles and you will have a clean car without trying.
Well that was certainly a great time. I am always amazed by these transformations. The 2 women were so grateful and thrilled with the outcome. It's great to see people appreciate how much work goes into your service. Have a wonderful weekend Mitch, you sure deserve it. Looking forward to more of the build series which is endlessly fascinating. #IStillLikeMike
An incredible result and easily the best customer reaction yet. I really hope the owner decides to invest in some rubber floor mats to protect the carpets and the work you've done--WeatherTech ones are great, but any mats are better than none at all. This one really cleaned up beautifully, but in your hands, they all do. I do like to try to guess how many hours it took you at the end of the video and I usually get it right, but this time I was way off (I predicted 12 hours). Sixteen hours might be your longest detail yet!
Wow that’s amazing! I think a long of people don’t realize the wear that salting roads does on the car too. Running it through a quick wash after having to drive through the salted roads can save so much damage. Great job!
I was wondering how so many people can let their vehicles get so bad. It also shocks me on what people leave in their vehicles. I found your channel recently and I am amazed on how nice they always come clean. I clean mine every week. I could never drive a vehicle as bad as some of them. But I know that is considered job security for great guys like you. Because like always you get everyone of them clean
This is one of the clearest examples I've seen of your process of using that extractor tool until the water/foam comes back clean. The first pass at several times here looks like hot chocolate or coffee with cream!
My absolute favorite part of deep cleaning my cars is just after I finish running the clay bar over it. It's always amazing what I pull off my paint and I do it at least twice a year, oftentimes 3-4 times a year. My second favorite part is watching the 303 protectant make my finishes look brand new
The pressure washing is nice, but it's the before/after shots of the carpet that really does it for me. Or when you see the water in the extractor turn from clear to brown when it goes over a particularly dirty spot.....oooh, so satisfying. 😂
The timing of the shot changes to the music at the end is always so satisfying! That kind of editing is so time consuming, damn dude do you sleep?? Amazing work ☺️
So awesome to have a garage with a floor drain, especially since it looks like you have harsh winters where you live. If she got some wheel covers, had that front bumper covering replaced and some minor rust touch up, it would look nearly new 👍
That reaction... that right there makes all the hours of work so worth it. You worked your magic on this one and it turned out better than any of us could have probably imagined.
26:30 dude it's okay if you keep on the table and work cleaning this much mess is a hectic job just wanted to let you know pls do comfortably as you wish Keep doing the great work 👍
I can’t tell what you love more, the finished product after all that hard work, or the true appreciation and happiness on a customers face every time they leave your house
Your keen eye and professionalism as a detailer and content creator is outstanding. After having our car detailed, you definitely show how much effort and care is taken to make each vehicle sparkles and shines. Thanks for the *many* videos, your hard work is definitely appreciated!
That poor van has been through a lot! It looks amazing now!! Beautiful job as always Mitch!! I especially loved the owner's reaction, she's right you really are a magician!! 🙂
I run my car through the car wash monthly and vacuum it 4-6 times a year and call it good enough. I’ve never had my car cleaned to this extent. Great job as usually Mitch. Happy New Year!
Mercedes had them since the 90s, so likely a carry-over from the DaimlerChrysler era. Those can also be found on some Volvos and European VWs btw (Touran & Sharan)…
I just came upon the videos of The Detail Geek today and have been trying to watch as many as I can. It is extremely gratifying to see the results of hard work and the transformation that takes place. I think many people don't know where to begin when a vehicle becomes rather unkempt. Keep up the great work. As for Dakota Jackson, the owner of the van, thank you for allowing us viewers an insight into your life. It is easy for people to make judgements about another and, upon seeing the van come in so dirty, I, too, was wondering how it could get that way. Sometimes there just is not enough time in a day to raise a family, especially for a single mother, and make a living as well. May you be blessed for all you do for your family.
I love that you treat every car with the same effort. I do get a little frustrated that a lot of people don't remove personal items before you clean it. Oh well. You do an awesome job!
@@Flwrluna not positive but you would think they would have to schedule. If so then they should have time. That's just what I think. However he obviously doesn't mind.
I’d like to say two things, 1: this guys videos are relaxing, enjoyable and just nice to watch, he does an absolute fantastic job at what he does and 2: I live in Houston Texas, I’d literally drive to get my car cleaned by this guy😂
I used to detail vehicles for a living....people would always say "I just don't have time to clean my vehicle"....I disagree with that statement, you don't have 45 mins to clean the garbage out and vacuum? I just never understood how people could get into a filthy, messy vehicle every day.
DG, excellent work - always great to see an old workhouse cleaned up like that. Far better than some 'hypercar' that just sits in a garage, never driven.
Weirdly I'm the same! I prefer seeing 'run of the mill' cars getting a good detailing over some expensive but lovely bit of machinery, I find it really satisfying!
Just finished the video and wow! This was an incredible transformation Mitch! Not that I am ever surprised though. You put so much care into your work and it truly shows!! Please make sure you are equally prioritizing yourself too even with how busy you are. As someone who tends to be a bit of an over achiever and people pleaser, I know from my own experience that sacrificing your personal well-being or comfort for work or even others does catch up eventually. Anyways I loved the video Mitch!
I detailed my car like you do except without a garage with fancy wall vacuums, put neoprene seat covers in and carpet floor mats as well as deep rubber floor mats for extra protection. My car came up awesome thanks to watching your videos and learning from you
Mitch and his magical wizardry has done it again. What I wouldn't do for a chance to have you detail my car! It is NOWHERE as dirty, but would still be honored to have you work on it❤❤
Oh man, I can totally relate to the kid mess lol. No matter how hard you try, those little turds find a way to sneak in a chicken nugget under the seat, or spill a drink you didn't even know they had! I was happy about cleaning my old Camry out, but now after watching this video I feel like I need to start over because you do such a crazy good job!
I appreciate what you’re saying about sacrificing your comfort to get good camera angles for us and we appreciate that. But im thinking maybe in your new garage space set up a table with rigging above with ring lights and a spot for your camera so you can get those perfect shots without incurring major back pain. Then its set up ready to go so you dont have to take it down and its not in your way. I dont want you to be arthritic by the time your 50! Take care of your body its the only machine you have.
That was great reaction! Thanks for capturing that. Great job as always and thanks to you, I’m at taking better care of my own interior and realizing how important it is to at least vacuum if nothing else. Have a great week!
That was a LOT of mud! Bit disappointed you didn't show off cleaning the 'Technic frame' that held the storage bins in place. I was looking forward to seeing that I do wonder though how long it will remain clean though, seeing the pile of snow outside the garage!
Wow!!! As always Mitch, an absolutely stunning transformation. And the owner’s reaction was just lovely. I always hope they’ll react like that but maybe Canadians are just more reserved in their reactions.
I never thought watching a detailing of a car would be so satisfying to watch but what you do to the vehicles is incredible. Awesome job and wished you lived closer so you could do my vehicle.
Well done! This takes an insane amount of patience, time and skill. It looks though like you could use another upholstery cleaner. Some of those stains should come out with another cleaner.
That transformation was every bit as EPIC as I thought it would be! Loved the Owners reaction👍🏼 her mom’s comment about “NOT feeding her kids in the van 🚐 “ echoed my thoughts exactly 😂
Mitch, looking forward to seeing your new studio completed and the detailing that goes into the vehicles that people bring to you to get CLEAN and maybe even sanitized. Good job on that last one.
There’s no way I’d ever argue with your success if this channel. You obviously know what you’re doing and I think your detailing is amazing. Love seeing the transformations. But is there any way you could do an alternate version of the video without the music? I’ve found myself not watching all your videos anymore because I cannot stand the music on here. I know I could just turn the volume down but then I’d miss your cool commentary. I’d love to hear the actual sounds of the detailing instead of the music. I know that’s impossible with the action being sped up for time but maybe you can figure something out. You’re extremely talented at the editing too. I know I’m just one guy ranting out of millions of subscribers so I don’t really matter to you but it was just something I wanted to say. Sorry this was so long. Good luck on your new shop Mitch. You deserve all your success.
I think in on his second channel you’ll find long ass videos of real-time camera shots and the work is not sped up so that’s at least something Second thing is, the music needs some change because they’re the same songs every single video
Dude RESPECT! Love yr dedication and work ethics. After a job like that was hoping the would clean shoes before getting in. Amazed how you clean carpet to look new. I agree there should be options for rubber flooring!
I love watching the carpet cleaning, would love to see the footage from a go pro mounted to the extractor, just seeing all that dirt flow through and eventually turn clear would be awesome 👌 Great content as usual mate 💪
I love that you treat every car as if it was yours :) recently found your channel and I didn’t know I needed this lol if you ever need a break, go ahead my guy, you work so hard. 🙏🏼 much love
I always wonder if I am going to recognize a vehicle owner one of these times (I live in the same city as Mitch). The interior transformation was incredible! Excellent job as always 👍
I love how you take "product placment" literally by just placing the all purpose cleaner on your counter. As always, nice video and that van came out really good looking
As a retired detailer, I enjoy watching the videos. On these vehicles, a rubber/vinyl floor should be standard, and the carpet should be the upgrade for extra charge. Thanks for sharing the videos with us.
I can only imagine what a messy house would look like if you're going to clean it up, with your amazing equipments/tools, of course, huge ones designed for cleaning a house, LOL...your perseverance to clean that muddy and messy car was amazing🌝👍👏👏👏
I am so happy she has a working trunk again! Yikes! I can't imagine how inconvenient that was. Weather certainly was a HUGE factor here. Definitely a rough outside, but the inside wasn't terrible in comparison to other vans. This one was probably the cleanest of all the vans on the inside, but takes the cake for the outside. Mother Nature can be rough to work with!
Love the videos and the process is hella satisfying but i never understand how cars can even get to that state in the first place. I have a car that was used by my dad for about 20 years and then I've been using it for around 4 years but apart from vaccuming and occasionally cleaning out the rubber carpet cover thingys I've never done any extensive cleaning. It just doesn't get that bad. Take care of your cars people. (Obviously work trucks are an exception)
This is so therapeutic to watch. Like ASMR. Great work. I'm curious how much you charged that lady. I feel sorry for anyone who has to clean a car that dirty. Must have been big bux! :D
He has his prices up on his website. I once went to see strictly out of curiosity since we’re not even on the same continent. It’d be a little far for me to cross the Atlantic just for a detail lmao
I have a question. You may have already answered before. When you spray cleaner and stream the speaker grills, does that affect the speaker? How do you keep from soaking the speaker in water? Awesome job on the van!
If you use a steamer with a microfiber towel on top it can soak up a lot then you can vac out the loosened up goop and then hit with detail brush to clean up rest this is what I do
I gotta say my favorite part was whilst you were cleaning the trunk. You saw the doll and immediately set it somewhere away from the trash, such a kind heart love your channel ❤️
@@skylined5534 It’s “bastardized” with a Z not an S. If you’re going to criticize for the way people talk, make sure you correct yourself first big guy.
I imagine you're really making a name for yourself in your town and surrounding areas. I'm sure when the new Shop is finished, you're going to be busy with excited patrons. Also: (Note, there are people that will just blatantly let their places/vehicles literally go to shit.) To those of you who say Lazy. There are people (With kids) that are so busy that their vehicle is the least pressing thing on their mind. It's very easy to let a vehicle become dirty. My kids were pulled from their mother (because of poor living conditions) and moved to me. I had my car spotless before they moved in. Now, I love my kids, but they do their absolute BEST to accidentally make as much of a mess as possible every single day. When you have kids, are working constantly, have poor mental health because of everything going on the previous few years, etc... the Cars aesthetic becomes last priority. Cleaning it is literally a Once and a while thing, when we have the energy and time (Do need both of those to clean a car). It's also a treat for people like me, to finally have a clean vehicle again, whether we do it or find time to lend it to a detailer. So, to all of you that don't have children. You don't have perspective, be mindful. For those of you who have children, but are able to keep your car clean. Congrats, i'm happy for you. We're all not the same and you may not be dealing with what I (or others like me) are dealing with. Don't judge without knowing the circumstances.
I just found your channel and I’m so hooked! You do an amazing job and I love watching the transformations. I was wondering, since I haven’t seen you clean the inside roof of the cars, do you clean the inside roof and if so, what is your process for that? (or maybe I haven’t seen enough of your videos yet lol) In the mean time I’ll keep watching more videos, it’s so relaxing to watch and the end is so satisfying to see the cars get so squeaky clean! I love it! Keep doing awesome work!
My first job ever was detailing cars. Even well after in life i still enjoy doing my personal vehicle and it’s amazing to see these transformations. Question: Is there a reason you decide to do the outside and then the inside, in that order? No problem at all with it, i was wondering if you find trash and debris blowing back onto the vehicle after going inside. Traditional car washes offer the outside to be cleaned before you go to the vacuum section as well (which is always great). But do you see pros in doing the inside first or does it even matter in your perspective? Thanks ahead for any insight & answers. God bless you

I like cleaning too
Thanks to you I've started my own small detailing business. I've been working on detailing cars for a tow company/repair shop

Probably the most satisfying and enthusiastic customer reaction I’ve seen on the channel. Always nice to see your work genuinely appreciated
Love the grandma, "Well maybe don't feed them in there" - perfect! This one made me even more grateful for my garage❣️
I got to tht part as reading this
Yeah. Sit them around a table. All the family at once. Good opportunity to teach kids manners that way too.
Well sometimes they could be on the road and the kids get hungry. And plus, kids are growing and sometimes have growth spurts which can make them hungry all the time. Trust me, I know from experience.
Sometimes they probably need to eat on the run…. But most humans suck at cleaning up after themselves and they fail to teach their kids the same.
Hello fellow feline
She’s trained them to not respect anything, vile little animals.

"What am I going to do with my kids now?" that was hilarious! I love when you clean minivans because kids know how to destroy a car. The transformations are epic.
Simple! Don’t let the kids eat in the car! We never did and had no problems!
@@craigjorgensen4637 right! Common sense works. But people don’t know how to parent these days so this is what you get
@@craigjorgensen4637 seriously! I have 3 kids, and we only ate in the car on road trips, so it was a fun treat for the kids. Not a big deal to have a trash bin in the car and empty it out at the end of the trip.

The interior of this van, after you finished cleaning it, looked practically as good as a floor show model.

Strangely yeah, just some nice plain ones, would make a world of difference!
Wow that’s amazing! I think a long of people don’t realize the wear that salting roads does on the car too. Running it through a quick wash after having to drive through the salted roads can save so much damage. Great job!
I was looking at it and thinking Jesus, I'd hate to replace a ball joint, exhaust, track rod end etc! Salt, it's a bloody menace 😂
You are in a league of your own. You my friend are a detail master! Great job!
My absolute favorite part of deep cleaning my cars is just after I finish running the clay bar over it. It's always amazing what I pull off my paint and I do it at least twice a year, oftentimes 3-4 times a year. My second favorite part is watching the 303 protectant make my finishes look brand new
Who else was more pumped about seeing the pressure wash than anything else? Phenomenal job once again!
The pressure washing is nice, but it's the before/after shots of the carpet that really does it for me. Or when you see the water in the extractor turn from clear to brown when it goes over a particularly dirty spot.....oooh, so satisfying. 😂
@@dreednlb in all fairness, I can't argue lol.

Sir I am in awe of how you go above and beyond to get these vehicles as clean as possible. Well done sir, well done.

DG, excellent work - always great to see an old workhouse cleaned up like that. Far better than some 'hypercar' that just sits in a garage, never driven.
The beauty shots at the end with the 'like a boss' music that celebrate the car. Always worth waiting for...and the guitar solo. 😎🎸
Also: (Note, there are people that will just blatantly let their places/vehicles literally go to shit.)
To those of you who say Lazy.
God bless you
It's always amazing to me just how much dirt gets stuck in every crevice. It seems like there's always more left no matter how long DG sprays it.
I did that recently with my car, it's clean... oh, more crap! Finally, clean! Uh-oh nope... more! Argh!
