Even when we were kids, my dad never allowed us to make a mess in his car. He passed away in 2021 and left us a Toyota FJ Cruiser, and even now when we use it, it is returned to it's parking spot clean and washed to respect him even after he is gone. This car was his absolute pride and joy!

I don’t think it was used. More than likely a child took it out of mom’s purse and unwrapped it thinking it was candy or a snack. The red spot was on the wrong side and blood doesn’t stay red, it turns brown. It’s probably ketchup, jam, a melted fruit snack, etc.
It utterly blows my mind how people can let their cars get this disgusting! I also don't seem to understand why people in Canada drive around with carpet floor mats... If I lived there I would take them out and never put them back. Heavy-duty all-weather or leather floor mats are the way to go. Great detail! Amazing transformation!
Actually, i prefer the carpet mats over the all weather ones i have in my other vehicle. Too easy to hang at the car wasg and spray all that dirt out. They dry very quickly.
@@kippy2995When it comes to cars, there's a big difference between dirty and disgusting. I rarely wash my car and there's some dirt on the outisde and dirt tracked in on the driver's side floor. But I don't have old food, discarded tampons, and other such filth littering the interior.
I live in Southern California and I have those floor mats in my car. When all the sand & dust gets on it. Take it out shake em off and even use a water hose to spray them off. I hate a dirty car I agree with you like NOBODY is that busy where they can't clean/tidy their vehicle. Just lazy dirty people

I hate the "I have kids" excuse for dirty cars. Growing up, we had a 1994 GMC Vandura as our family hauler despite five kids, it was always clean. It doesn't take but 5-10 minutes tops to clean up your kids' mess after a car ride. Vacuum it every week or so, I doesn't take that long either. I'd rather take that time out of my day than to drive a rolling biohazard.
It's a cheap excuse honestly, you need what, 30 minutes per week to keep the car relatively tidy and clean. If you can't force yourself not to throw everything in the car like it's a trash bin and give it a quick wash at least every Sunday, that's not the kids fault, it's you.
My rule is no food in the car snacks and drinks are fine and if I'm on a road trip with family we stop and go inside and eat it keeps your car clean and doesn't make your car smell

As a parent I know sometimes bloody noses show up at strange times. Sometimes a tampon is all that is available. We've used them before. I hope that was the case here. Love this channel. What great content as always. For some stubborn carpets, it sometimes helps to run a dry clean drill brush over them to loosen the dirt from to fibers. Had great success with this process in my experience. Thanks for a great video.

I used to to detail for a used car dealership, worst car I ever got was a trade in that the previous owner used to drive around with live chickens (I assumed by the feed and poop) in the floor of their van. I had the bare minimum equipment to do it too 😅😭

I am not a professional detailer but I am a car dude. Usually when this happens, the only permanent fix is to replace the dashboard. You could also try a dashboard cover. This issue seemed to plague certain Infiniti models from the late 2000s.
@@lukeheffernan i work in a shop & i second this. the dashboard material in certain 2010 mazda 3s degenerates when exposed to high temperature/humidity. the dashboard is sticky because it’s literally melting. cleaning won’t do a damn thing but waste money and time. mazda extended warranties so customers could get this issue fixed completely for free

What do you recommend for someone who has hard water as there source of water? Down in west Texas And we have some of that water that’ll leave seeable white water marks on a white vehicle it’s so bad. I work in quadrants and clean around the vehicle trying to keep the vehicle wet as I move around then once finished with my last spot I dry the whole vehicle as well as I can with my drying towels but when I do my truck and my wives car I have to use a quick detailed around the vehicle to remove the hard water spots that might have gotten away from me and when drying it can leave a white streaking look which I’d why I always quick wax/quick detail after washing fully to get rid of it.

my best friends family van is absolutely terrible, not this bad, but bad enough. She cleans it frequently tho, but not to this extent. Her house is spotless though. A lot of people just dont care enough to clean their vehicle, or cant care due to mental illness, or life effects, or just laziness

Seeing this kind of car I always ask myself four questions. First: How on earth can you let a car get this disguisting? We raised 3 children and our cars NEVER looked even close to this … but we had rules … Second: How does it look at home of this mother? Third: Why do you let him film and publish it? And fourth: How can you show yourself on camera? I would be so terribly ashamed I wouldn‘t neither want my car nor myself being seen on YT 🤣!! But at least we have the fun of watching this car come back to life, awesome job!!

Here's a tip for the winter months. If you spread some newspaper under your floor mats, when it's time to change it (every month or so in the winter depending on how much precipitation), the newspaper has absorbed all moisture & dirt. The rugs remain perfect.

Watching your videos made me buy a Bissel cleaner and clean my entire car. I didn’t do as well as you, because I couldn’t remove my seats by myself but I got where I could reach and it’s much better than it was. I had to get the cigarette smell out since I quit. It stunk so bad. 😬

i'm pretty sure that tampon wasn't used for what it is supposed to be used for :D First of, it's fresh. Blood is not black ore even dark. It's bright red, fresh red blood...like 1h fresh if not 15 min. The tampon is not puffed at all, just torn down, and there is very little blood. I'm sure it wasn't placed where everyone thinks it was placed. Other wise it would look different ;) Over all, it looks more like it was placed there on purpose... probably fore some drama effect.

As a mom I feel for this van owner. My kids would tear up everything and a few times opened maxis and tampons out of their packaging. Always awesome to pick up a friend to go out and they sit on a piece of chocolate or find a tampon 😆 My gosh toddlers are sometimes like a test in humility

I agree that was completely disgusting, but as a sports Mom, I have seen coaches use tampons to stop bloody noses after a bad hit. I would like to think on the positive side and hope it was that kind of situation and not a lack of care about disposal of a hygine product.

When you clean carpet floor mats, I presume you use your Bissell to extract as much water as possible out of them. After that, what kind of fan do you use to help get everything dry?

My mother had four boys, and her house and car were always spotless. The tampon is a dead give-away that she's a pig. Stop hiding behind your children.
While you are right that it is not an excuse also know that there are people with mental health/neurodivergence issues. But they should get help sooner and our communities should also provide it. A used tampon should not be in a family car.

As a parent I know sometimes bloody noses show up at strange times. Sometimes a tampon is all that is available. We've used them before. I hope that was the case here. Love this channel. I would like to see a video of the cleanest vehicle you've ever cleaned. Just to see if you treat them any differently.

What great content as always. For some stubborn carpets, it sometimes helps to run a dry clean drill brush over them to loosen the dirt from to fibers. Had great success with this process in my experience. Thanks for a great video.

I used to to detail for a used car dealership, worst car I ever got was a trade in that the previous owner used to drive around with live chickens (I assumed by the feed and poop) in the floor of their van. I had the bare minimum equipment to do it too 😅😭

I'm always impressed by your work! You make these cars look brand new. I have a 2010 mazda 3 and can't figure out how to clean my sticky dashboard from the sun. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it!
I am not a professional detailer but I am a car dude. Usually when this happens, the only permanent fix is to replace the dashboard. You could also try a dashboard cover. This issue seemed to plague certain Infiniti models from the late 2000s.
@@lukeheffernan i work in a shop & i second this. the dashboard material in certain 2010 mazda 3s degenerates when exposed to high temperature/humidity. the dashboard is sticky because it’s literally melting. cleaning won’t do a damn thing but waste money and time. mazda extended warranties so customers could get this issue fixed completely for free
You worked another miracle with this one. Glad the owner is pleased and I know she has kids, but seeing a certain personal item on the carpet...well, cheetos and french fries are one thing, but that was beyond what I've seen you tackle thus far. Fantastic job--you made that interior look new again.

What do you recommend for someone who has hard water as there source of water? Down in west Texas And we have some of that water that’ll leave seeable white water marks on a white vehicle it’s so bad. I work in quadrants and clean around the vehicle trying to keep the vehicle wet as I move around then once finished with my last spot I dry the whole vehicle as well as I can with my drying towels but when I do my truck and my wives car I have to use a quick detailed around the vehicle to remove the hard water spots that might have gotten away from me and when drying it can leave a white streaking look which I’d why I always quick wax/quick detail after washing fully to get rid of it.

my best friends family van is absolutely terrible, not this bad, but bad enough. She cleans it frequently tho, but not to this extent. Her house is spotless though. A lot of people just dont care enough to clean their vehicle, or cant care due to mental illness, or life effects, or just laziness

Seeing this kind of car I always ask myself four questions. First: How on earth can you let a car get this disguisting? We raised 3 children and our cars NEVER looked even close to this … but we had rules … Second: How does it look at home of this mother? Third: Why do you let him film and publish it? And fourth: How can you show yourself on camera? I would be so terribly ashamed I wouldn‘t neither want my car nor myself being seen on YT 🤣!! But at least we have the fun of watching this car come back to life, awesome job!!

Not sure if you’ll see this but since the drill isn’t included with the drill brushes on your website, could you use like a normal drill (like one that you would use for building things) or would you need a special drill (if this makes sense haha)?
Yep you can. I use my husband’s corded drill. Goes in just like a drill bit, easy peasy .
Question: when detailing the interior how do you clean the seatbelts?. And what about the headliners!
Headliners are fragile, and when it comes to seatbelts, a good wipedown may be all you need

As a professional detailer myself for the last 15 years. You might be the greatest (attention to detailer) I have ever seen.
Here's a tip for the winter months. If you spread some newspaper under your floor mats, when it's time to change it (every month or so in the winter depending on how much precipitation), the newspaper has absorbed all moisture & dirt. The rugs remain perfect.

Great video Mich'! I've been a watcher for over a year now and it's always satisfying to see these cars having the well deserved cleanup that they need! I've got a quick question regarding the van, why was it missing the front bumper? Did the owner get into a small fender bender?
What puzzles me is why she spent a few hundred bucks on a detail when the front bumper is missing?
@@alexbrown1995 perhaps the front bumper is at the body shop getting work done to it so it could be put back on the freshly cleaned up car.

Watching your videos made me buy a Bissel cleaner and clean my entire car. I didn’t do as well as you, because I couldn’t remove my seats by myself but I got where I could reach and it’s much better than it was. I had to get the cigarette smell out since I quit. It stunk so bad. 😬

i'm pretty sure that tampon wasn't used for what it is supposed to be used for :D First of, it's fresh. Blood is not black ore even dark. It's bright red, fresh red blood...like 1h fresh if not 15 min. The tampon is not puffed at all, just torn down, and there is very little blood. I'm sure it wasn't placed where everyone thinks it was placed. Other wise it would look different ;) Over all, it looks more like it was placed there on purpose... probably fore some drama effect.

I agree that was completely disgusting, but as a sports Mom, I have seen coaches use tampons to stop bloody noses after a bad hit. I would like to think on the positive side and hope it was that kind of situation and not a lack of care about disposal of a hygine product.

When you clean carpet floor mats, I presume you use your Bissell to extract as much water as possible out of them. After that, what kind of fan do you use to help get everything dry?
Usually after extraction the carpet mats are pretty much dry so I'm not too sure if they'd need to be fan dried after

He washed a smart fortwo and he seemed to do the standard procedure, albeit taking extra care on the roof, in my experience, a good rinse works, unless there is a stain

While you are right that it is not an excuse also know that there are people with mental health/neurodivergence issues. But they should get help sooner and our communities should also provide it. A used tampon should not be in a family car.

Mitch you are the best car detailer in the world. I watch every single video you put out. Yeah, you can find some pretty odd stuff in a vehicle. I found a solid gold pocket watch under the back seat of a station wagon back in 1981. Lot's of pot in bags. People out there are crazy man.
I have a 2020 Grand Caravan and watching this helps me with my OCD. There is no need for me to clean my car until I find another job not using my car. I literally clean it and the next day it looks like I didn’t even do anything to it.
