    Great demo - you're about the only one that shows this guitar doing what it does best, which is swing jazz!

      @@LGuitarB I feel it would also excel at T-Bone Walker/ Charles Brown type of West Coast blues.

    Hello from UK Laurent, and thank you for your really helpful vid of your “impulse buy” Epiphone Century Archtop. Although now almost 80 and primarily a home jazz pianist, I’ve always loved the design, history and sound of an archtop. I now have an Epiphone Masterbilt Zenith c2016 which I love, although my fingers can nowonly manage abbreviated chords. Such a pleasure to hear you do justice to it……I also, when amplifying, use a Fishman Loud Box! Thank you again……please keep posting, it’s such delight to hear such good playing. Best wishes, Trev

      Thank you very much for your comment! Those Loudboxes are good, aren't they? Great that you're still playing at 80, I hope to be doing the same 20 years from now 🙂

    Brilliant playing, and the guitar handled it very well indeed. I'm in the process of buying one second hand, and I can wait to get it. Thanks for the demo.

    I have exactly the same! It is excellent and a very nice part of my collection. I love to play it acoustically as well as amplified. Both good natural sounds. It stands proudly beside my Gibson 175 in my guitar rack.

    Great review man ! Fantastic playing. I just bought one of these and what kind of strings would you recommend for just strumming rhythm. Thanks a lot for the great video. Jeff Clark from ROCKDALE Texas

    • @LGuitarB
      @LGuitarB  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! :-) I'm using 011 here, but I specifically bought this guitar for its better lead tone than my other amplified acoustic, so you might try 012 as well for a somewhat more powerful strumming sound.

    so, in your humble opinion, is it any good for actual jazz?

    • @LGuitarB
      @LGuitarB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Certainly, if you're looking for an acoustic jazz guitar sound. It plays light as well, so any fast jazz melodies can be played well on them. But it is an acoustic sound, so it's a different sound from jazz guitars as were used by Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass or Barney Kessel or so. For that you need an electric jazz guitar.

    Wasthis done with the new Canon cam? Not bad.

    • @LGuitarB
      @LGuitarB  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it was :-) For acoustic recordings I found I can even use the camera's microphone (which I didn't here yet for the song, but I noticed it when editing the recordings), it's a really good quality sound.

    Fake! L'image ne correspond pas au son!!

    • @LGuitarB
      @LGuitarB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not fake. However, I recorded the sound through a separate microphone from the camera, which signal I had to synchronise with the video later. I may not have done that accurately. Furthermore, the same song can be heard in the link in the description (only the lead there is played on a different guitar).
