People shit on the gamecube nonstop because all the games looked cartoony and for kids. Funny how a couple decades later and now it's all "wow the games are so unique looking". I guarantee in 2040 someone is going to comment on a video of all the Nintendo Switch games with "Wow remember when they made GOOD GAMES BACK IN 2020?!?!?"
At the time I personally thought the GameCube had potential in terms of graphics seeing Resident Evil Remake and Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes on it.
@@SecretPesch no one doubt that, it was Nintendo's fault. But judging the AAA games that NGC has, it had more potential than the other two. Just imagine if it had DVD and HDD.

I love the Gamecube and I was a gamecube purest when everyone was jumping ship to PS2 and Xbox. It had some good exclusives, but this list reminded me of the struggle being a gamecube fan. If you go outside the main nintendo franchises, there's not a lot it has to offer.

Man GC has so many great games. I still loved playing all star baseball easily among the best baseball games ever made, loved how the ones for n64 were 4 player with each player having the option to pick your position and place in the batting order, no other baseball game let you do this as I recall. Super Mario baseball was also great
@@waltersobchak7275 Didn't buy a ps3 so I couldn't say what else they had other than the show series but I'd go with the show being the main one. For 360 the 2k games were the best for that console. For the GC also had MVP which I never likes personally but some did and home run king. Still the mario was one of the best for gc. PS2 there was world series baseball, the show, mvp, all star baseball was great but sadly acclaim died so did ASB, slugfest wasn't bad, triple play and high heat

As powerful as the gamecube was and how in my opinion it remains the greatest console of all time it lacked what a lot of people wanted online gaming i really didn't care much about it then and still don't care for it now.
TMNT(2007, based off the movie), Meet the Robinsons, Surf’s Up, Ratatouille, and Madden NFL 08 were the only GameCube games released in 2007 along with the 5 very last GameCube games overall.
46:12 footage is of YTB2 not Full Power. Surprisingly common mistake. For many years scene dumpers screwed it up and tagged them backwards so most ROM sites only shared YTB2 as FP.
@Tensel Japan isn't a third world country and neither are any country in Europe anymore. Americans must think every nation outside north america is "third world" smh
If anyones reading this and has good memory, I hope someone can help me figure out what game I'm looking for. It was either gamecube or ps2, my dad rented it for me from blockbuster. I remember the 1st level was in the Desert, it was a FPS, however, had a 3rd person fighting, like mortal kombat, when you fought a boss at the end of the level. I remember it was a terrorist you fought at the end of the level. Been bugging me for months (years) I cant find it, I know it exists
I found it after digging more. Ps2 game, Fugitive Hunter: War on Terror. I skimmed it a little bit but it looks so bad 😂 my memory over hyped this piece
So basically, altogether, there are no more than 651 Nintendo GameCube games? That's kind of interesting considering the fact that this video game console's popularity was almost as big as the PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox. Nice history video!
The GameCube sold a fraction of the PS2, it even fell short of the Xbox despite that the Xbox barely sold in Japan. It was a very unpopular system and a lot of people thought Nintendo was going to die because of it. There's a reason they completely switched up how they did hardware afterwards with the Wii.
@@user-is9ff4zh6p No, there was a lot more to it than that. Sony had this hip and "mature" (by which I mean "blood, titties, boobs, swearing, nu-metal/hip-hop edgelord crap") appeal that Nintendo simply didn't have. The latter's games were perceived as "too colorful", "too foreign", "too kiddy", or even "gay" because of how family friendly and Japanese they were. The purple lunch box look of the console didn't help either. I know those sound like stupid reasons for hating a console, but you have to remember that most of the gaming market (at least outside of Japan) at that time was comprised of teenagers and young adults. These are kids that had grown up with the Super Nintendo and were now desperate to prove their "maturity". They frowned upon anything that had less than a T-rating. Games like Mario and Zelda were "for little kids". All the "REAL" men were off playing Grand Theft Auto 3 and blasting Limp Bizkit on their early 2K stereos. That's just how gaming culture was back then: xenophobic, homophobic, insecure, and very, very immature. There's also the fact that Yamauchi was still Nintendo's head cheese at the time. He was notoriously hostile to 3rd parties, especially Square. He could be extremely petty as well. He was so pissed at Square for abandoning N64 that he initially refused to let them develop for Game Boy Advance (which did end up hurting Square financially, especially after the FF movie bombed).
@@marnixmaximus3053 GCN was extremely easy to develop for compared to the N64 and much easier than the PS2. It just had shortcomings like the mini DVD format.
1:48:45 there's a mistake about zelda. it's not the collector's edition. the collector's edition was a part of the wind waker and included almost all older zelda games like majora's mask or ocarina of time
The footage is fine, albeit a bit misleading. The collectors edition disk featuring zelda 1+2, OoT, and MM *also* has a Wind Waker demo on it. There's a few ways to get it, such as it being bundled with a gamecube, or being part of club nintendo.
I had a gc many years ago and it has some great exclusives, but I like the ps2 better, many of these games were released for the ps2 too and the ps2 has thousands of games and hundreds of exclusives. I still have a ps2 and play it sometimes, I played alien hominid, Freedom fighters, NBA street 1,2,3, baldur's gate, soul calibur 2, Need for speed hot pursuit 2, def jam fight for ny, king kong, lord of the rings, lego star wars 1,2, Prince of persia, burnout 2, ssx 3, splinter cell and many many other games on the ps2.
The Zelda and Mario games, The licensed kids games, and ESPECIALLY Neighbours from hell (1:04:53) are some of my most favorite GameCube games/ports ever, hell, they are my favorite games In GENERAL, also Smash Meele is in my opinion, the most legendary Smash game ever released, except maybe smash ultimate

The GameCube is quintessentially one of Nintendo’s greatest consoles ever made! I attest it’s better than the Nintendo Wii and even at times Nintendo 64 were it not for Super Mario 64 and the Zelda games. But perhaps second only to the Super Nintendo and at the same level as the Switch; it is truly one of Nintendo’s greatest systems!

It is amazing how then each game looked unique, now it is the same game again and again with different names.
Gamers are getting stupid . People are literally paying 60 dollars for interactive movies
Videogame evolve, like music, paint, and life.
People shit on the gamecube nonstop because all the games looked cartoony and for kids. Funny how a couple decades later and now it's all "wow the games are so unique looking". The GameCube is/was a beautiful machine!
At the time I personally thought the GameCube had potential in terms of graphics seeing Resident Evil Remake and Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes on it.
I dont think so. Just a few games are pretty good. Most of them are normal or shit games.
@@SecretPesch no one doubt that, it was Nintendo's fault. But judging the AAA games that NGC has, it had more potential than the other two. Just imagine if it had DVD and HDD.
@@sampanda5793 still is
I don't know about beautiful but it worked for it's purpose at the time
These look amazing and have aged well in my opinion.
Never realized growing up how massive the GameCube game catalogue is
The Xbox has over 1000 games, and the PS2 has over 4000 games.
U joking? It has one of the smallest catalogs of any game console ever.

How ??
@@waltersobchak7275I’m assuming he’s going to hack.
It's pretty wild to think that GC only had 651 games where as PS2 had well over 4000 games in its library!
You have limitation to make a video game on 1.5gb mini dvd.
@@YRJ88Game Yup, it's a shame how Nintendo always have to make these weird decisions with their consoles. x)
I love the Gamecube and I was a gamecube purest when everyone was jumping ship to PS2 and Xbox. It had some good exclusives, but this list reminded me of the struggle being a gamecube fan. If you go outside the main nintendo franchises, there's not a lot it has to offer.
If you stored all the games (and a memory card image dedicated to each one!) on a single hard drive without compressing, you would need a 1 TB drive at least.

Man GC has so many great games. I still loved playing all star baseball easily among the best baseball games ever made, loved how the ones for n64 were 4 player with each player having the option to pick your position and place in the batting order, no other baseball game let you do this as I recall. Super Mario baseball was also great
Which baseball games are the best for 360 and PS2 PS3?.

Games looked so different from each other back then !
As powerful as the gamecube was and how in my opinion it remains the greatest console of all time it lacked what a lot of people wanted online gaming i really didn't care much about it then and still don't care for it now.
the other rival consoles and most of games didnt have online back then anyway. only in next generation
TMNT(2007, based off the movie), Meet the Robinsons, Surf’s Up, Ratatouille, and Madden NFL 08 were the only GameCube games released in 2007 along with the 5 very last GameCube games overall.

Did you know Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to North America Spring 2020?
I got the Gamecube ASCII Phantasy Star Online Keyboard and Joypad ; ) was fun
@@sillkthashocker I did not. I just saw it here in the Microsoft Web Store. I will probably check it out.
@@Olie956 I played a few minutes of it, the combat is pretty fluid so it has that. I'll have to try and devote a little more time to it I think
impressive and informative - one gets a feel for the diversity yet also repetition of gamecube universe games
It would be very difficult to preserve all 4000 Switch games now since the library kept rising every week.
Thanks for this. Got a RP2+ coming and wanted to check out the games I want to test on it. :)
I feel this is an incomplete games. Because I have played a few games that wasn't on this list. And I haven't played the slot car game on this list.
46:12 footage is of YTB2 not Full Power. Surprisingly common mistake. For many years scene dumpers screwed it up and tagged them backwards so most ROM sites only shared YTB2 as FP.
Out of the entire GameCube game catalog I find like 60 worth playing
Fire Emblem??
@@waltersobchak7275 yes
Damn, I played 84 of these throughout my childhood...
I just ordered a GameCube and this video reminded me of all the great games I never completed lol well some 😅
Like how someone was singing when wind waker came on! Classic game
The best youtube channel ever made😎😎
Gaming these days is severely lacking in variety. 😭 The GameCube was special.
@Tensel Japan isn't a third world country and neither are any country in Europe anymore. Americans must think every nation outside north america is "third world" smh
Game Cube and Wii is my bestest video console 🤩🤩🤩
9:25 Don't crack my nuts!
As a 2000’s kid. Thank you!
If you have a Wii and the nintendont app you can do wonders
For anyone looking for some lesser known but amazing Gamecube games, make sure you take a look at Gotcha Force and Custom Robo.
DVD players( which was the hype at that time )in PS2 and Xbox with added hardware is what out did the GC. The GC is still one heck of a system!
GameCube was famously hard to develop for by third party developers. Just like the N64.
I still have a ps2 and play it sometimes, I played alien hominid, Freedom fighters, NBA street 1,2,3, baldur's gate, soul calibur 2, Need for speed hot pursuit 2, def jam fight for ny, king kong, lord of the rings, lego star wars 1,2, Prince of persia, burnout 2, ssx 3, splinter cell and many many other games on the ps2.
there were only 651 games? damn
There are actually 657 games.
@@Nate-Dawg921 what are the other 6 please?
N64 only had around 300 to 350 games.

Why didn’t i know this channel existed? MORE CONSOLES YEEA
I absolutely love Nintendo Consoles. I'm basically a Nintendo and PC Gamer.
Everything you said is your opinion.
The wii is a gamecube just a different shape with motion controls and different ui.
