As a parent of a child who was affected by these things, I totally agree with Bobby. My son was 3 and had terrible sleep, only 5 or 6 hours in 24 hours. He would complain his head and tummy were 'swirly'. At 3 he was diagnosed as ADHD. Dr wanted to put him immediately on drugs. I asked Dr to wait as I wanted to try diet modification. Dr laughed at me but agreed. I took Mr3 to a dietitian who gave me a list of 70 food additives, preservatives and colours to avoid. We did this as a family, not just Mr3. Within a week Mr3 was having afternoon naps and going to bed at a decent hour. His behaviour settled immensely, he was never a naughty boy though. Less than a year later his Dr withdrew his ADHD diagnosis. Mr3 is now Mr24.

Great story, good for you sorting this out with diet. It is sad most people are too lazy to control their child's eating this way (and are often obese or eat unhealthily themselves anyway. Less additives can ONLY be better for kids, so parents should at least try it first!

This is why we need to get rid of lobbying. Big food companies give politicians money to create laws that favor their processes & profitability, and our health is what suffers. The really disturbing thing is that the individual amount a politician will receive is insanely low compared to the billions that the food companies earn, and the billions people wind up paying in health care due to poor nutrition and constant consumption of harmful additives.

Hey! What works for me is I look at weekly ads for different stores and buy where the food is at a discounted price. I also use apps like Fetch and Upside to earn on everyday things. I check what brands give the most points on Fetch and try to buy those (if the price is within my budget). I also plan my meals for the week and try to eat things that have the same ingredients. For example, milk can be used for multiple things (I’ve even used it to do bath soaks). Also, from my own research, not EVERY food needs to be organic. For example, strawberries should be bought organic but a pineapple isn’t necessary to buy organic because it has the outer layer as a protection (similar to avocados). One last tip, I reuse my food. Instead of buying organic bone broth, I just keep the bones from whatever meals we ate for the week or if I have vegetables that are going bad soon, I’ll make a broth from it to.

I feel like America is so far behind in so many ways we will never catch up because people will not change. They close their eyes and continue on doing what they have regardless of the consequences. Then when they get terrible illnesses they cry and wonder why.
I wish more people would open their eyes and demand change in the Food and Drug Administration. But as long as the people in those jobs are unethical and can be bought and paid for by the companies using unsafe and sometimes deadly products, it will never change.

Bobbly could you please research how they now spray oats to desiccate them with Round Up which then is in the ground over Winter , for next year’s crop. It means they spray Round Up just before harvest on oats used in Oat products. The oat is not GMO ready ; Round Up is being used to kill the oats so harvest can be scheduled. We need Round Up free oats!

@@TotalBorroto I live rural and partially grew up on a farm. I observed a very large field of oats had been Ariel sprayed , and then the oats promptly died. I asked amongst the farm community, what was that. Farmers explained to me the process of dessicating ( drying out the crop for harvest by killing it with Round Up) , thereby being able to “ harvest “ the grain on schedule. The Roundup then is there as a pretreatment of the field for the next years’ crop of corn. I was very shocked to learn of this method. My grandson is highly allergic and can’t use dairy products. So he drinks oat milk. The U S now has products labeled “ glysophate free(Roundup “, as they test the grains for glysophate. In Canada we have to buy organic to avoid oats sprayed with Round Up( glysphate).
