    not hot enough, keep the torch on it after it pools for another minute or two.

    How long does it take not sped up. I use oxy actaline but it's getting expensive I wonder if propane would save money

      Speed is going to depend on the amount you want to melt. Propane will take about 10-12 minutes with 200g. I use propane to get hot, then I use the Mapp Gas in the Yellow bottle to finish the melt.

    Does a final melt give you .999? Thanks for sharing.

      I’m not entirely sure. But when you remove the SLAG, I believe that’s the 7.5% other metal. I have not had my ingots tested with a computer analyzer to determine the actual silver composition.

      @@pickandswap the slag is anything that isnt silver or copper. some copper is burned off during the melting and some goes with the slag but you ended up with sterling, not 999 fine silver.

    You did not prepare well your crucible and your ingot mold not wipe some oil on it.. .. One torch, one melt will do... It's a d
    Failed..

    You have alot sticking because you didnt prepare you crucible..

      New Crucibles are a bit sticky. Once you do a couple of melts, the Borax will create a glass like lining. Which Helps!
