    OMG! This is me! Seafood all day long! Yes please. I really do need to visit this place. That Thai place had be dribbling and drooling all over the place. I often get a Thai Seafood sharing starter supposedly for 3 people from a local takeaway but scoff the lot myself. I am in heaven with seafood and when it is Thai, then all the more so.
    The lobster roll also had me jealous with greed. If I could solely live off fish and seafood 24/7 I glad would. The only minor exception is cooked salmon; the texture is just wrong. But I do love smoked salmon, especially with cream cheese and chives in a bagel.
    Mrs Greeno really knows what she is doing. Her lobster and Mac & Cheese with crab looked stunning.
    As we are on the seafood subject, I am going to throw in a recommendation if I may...The Brighton Shellfish & Oyster Bar, is one of the best places for casual seafood stalls, but the quality there is 10/10. Just stay away from the fakeries like "crab sticks" etc stick to the genuine items and see if it gets a "Greeno 5/5" 😄It does have a website but TH-cam never lets me post links, so you may want to take a look before deciding. Although please wait until September at the very earliest, I do not know how true it is, but I am a strong believer in fresh seafood can only be eaten when there is an "r" in the month!
    I respect the fact it cost nearly £110 overall which is not to be ignored, but £40 was just entry and drinks. IMHO the seafood prices by themselves were not too bad.

      I think the entry fee was a bit of a cheek (I note they have pushed it up to £15 a ticket this year!), but the food was in the main very enjoyable.
      Thai flavours are great aren't they - often very delicate and fragrant, but all the way up to the jungle curry. Yum !

      Yeah, someone somewhere was making some money… £10 a ticket, should at least have got a drink voucher or something with that. The squid guys probably made most though, flogging deep fried frozen squid at £10 a portion!

    Seafood is my favourite! I love it all apart from whelks! I’d like to try abalone but I’ve never even seen it in person before 😢😅
    Britain sends most of its best seafood abroad unfortunately .. that’s most likely why I’ve never seen abalone for sale before.
    My favourite seafood is probably crab. I like the little Atlantic prawns that you peel yourself too they’re so much more meatier and sweeter than the ready peeled mushy ones.

    • @GreenoEats
      @GreenoEats  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's strange isn't it, that we as Brits don't have a taste for much of what we land around our shores. Crab is great, we get some fab ones round here, Portland Crab is very good.

  • @The-KimP

    The £20 admission was far too much. Plymouth do an annual 3 day Flavour Fest which is free and includes cookery demos so that seemed a bit too much like a tourist rip off IMO. The grilled lobster was better value that the lobster roll for the same money, at least you get to fully appreciate the meat without a load of mayo/dressing. The Thai tempura seemed like the best value.

    • @GreenoEats
      @GreenoEats  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, the food festival on Poole Quay we went to last year was free, and had some extras. If you’re charging for the ticket then you should maybe get a drink voucher or something thrown in. The Thai food was definitely the best value, I don’t think the mac and cheese was a bad price either. That squid was an abomination though!

    • @GreenoEats
      @GreenoEats  ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess they justify the entry fee by the fact they have guest speakers and workshops etc. In the main the food was tasty, well apart from the squid which was garbage. Some better value than others certainly, the Thai food was good value, the lobster roll was nice, but 15 quid for a sandwich is strong by anyone’s sandwich. No meal deal on that one😂 Oh and before I forget, who are you calling a fool, surely not moi 🤣🤣🤣

    • @GreenoEats
      @GreenoEats  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I think the organisers certainly made their money, I imagine the pitch fees they charged the vendirs, plus the entry fee for the punters is a double whammy. I won't go again unless they change the pricing one way or another.
