@@davidjones6470 the chips were absolutely cracking, best I have had in a good while. The pasty was delicious too, and like you say pretty, sizeable, certainly not for the faint of heart 😀
I like Lyme Regis but prefer Sidmouth TBH as not quite so claustrophobic. The chips looked very nice but I would have liked to have seen a few more of them, seemed a small portion. Next time you are in Teignmouth (pretty sure it's tinmouth) you should pay the Jolly Good Fish Cafe in Teign St a visit. Lovely fish and chips!

I used to live in South Wales myself for several years, Cardiff, Newport, Magor, Caerphilly. Used to do that kind of drive down to Dorset a lot myself - have to say I prefer Lyme Regis to Porthcawl !
@@JSC131 I bought a house on the manor Park estate atound 25 years ago when they were newly built. The deeds said it was in Coedkernew, but realistically it was closer to Duffryn !
Hi Greeno,while you're down in Dorset why not try a bit of fossiling between charmouth and lyme regis,loads of iron pyrite ammonites around at low tide.
Hi Christian, yeah normally when down that part of Dorset we do check out the beached for fossils, although the cliffs have been really unstable recently so we passed on it this time. I live not far from Kimmeridge Bay too, that’s a good fossiling location if you’re ever closer to that part of Dorset.
Certainly more fairly priced and better quality than places just round the corner with a sea view! Highly recommended, a buddy of mine was down in Lyme Regis on Saturday, followed my recommendation, and gave it top marks too.
I know I moan about "fishless" fish and chips, but alas, I guess that is why the shops are called chippies in UK and chippers in Ireland, as they are not entirely synonymous with fish. If I were to get a pie or pasty I would have to get a pot of gravy, that way I am not wasting any of the pastry even if it was dry. I am not averse to saveloy but I can take or leave them. Chip shop chip portions amaze me! It is almost like the potato is going out of fashion. I can quite easily share a small portion and not feel hungry afterwards. I know they are a cheap commodity nowadays, but lest we forget the great famine of 1845!

It’s amazing the amount of comments I get from people around the country about how eye-wateringly expensive everything is down here. It’s all relative, like I said in the video, the pasty is about half the price of a piece of fish, so comparatively decent. As for the doughnuts' if you look back at the video I did of the Whole Hog previously I think you’d find I filmed them there. Pretty sure I did anyway ha ha!
The kids and Mrs Greeno were more aggressive than the seagulls on those doughnuts ha ha. Although when I did the original Whole Hog video I briefly shot them in that one too.

Lyme Regis looks exactly the same as it did when I was there over twenty years ago! A timelessly lovely town.

Love lyme we go there quite a few times throughout the year its only 2 hours from our home in south Wales we eat in the ship and pilot beautiful food.

In my local chippy we often order a large portion and share between the 4 of us!!

Like your revues, if you're ever in Scotland try the Full Scottish Breakfast including potato scones, Lorne sausage(square) and fried haggis.
I will get up to Scotland to film at some point, and a Full Scottish breakfast would 100% be on the agenda!
