Simple answer, high wages make shows a difficult proposition for many theme parks. As various states/provinces increase minimum wage, there will be moves towards automation and perhaps video/less staffed shows.
i think they should put it next to Funway Arcade and remove some of the games on the midway. the best spot would be to put it exactly where Funway Arcade is built as that is the most "open concrete" area of the park which is in a high traffic area with room for people to stand around.
How about get rid or relocate Sling Shot and put something between Gemini and Steel Vengeance? That location also has a wide open midway and a nice potential backstage area. Also, if you get rid of the maintenance building which I think is the sign shop you could build a good sized indoor venue there if you wish. I am also thinking somewhere on Millennium Island would also be a nice place for a large stage built at an angle that the park skyline would be in the background.
@@MTigers006 I like both of those ideas. I don’t think the island idea would work though unless they can find a compelling reason to funnel people onto the island.
They have space where snake river falls and frontier island. I don’t think they know what they’re going to do with both of those spaces yet anyways or with the snake river expedition ride area since they closed that too.

People like to call Cedar Point an amusement park rather than a theme park, but they do pretty good with keeping an old time-y feel in Frontier Town and Frontier Trail. For that reason I don't see them putting a large show back there. I think Red Garter, Jack Aldrich Theatre and Lusty Lil's and the current kid show areas will be the only venues where "people go to entertainment" otherwise they will probably be mixed purpose with performances at restaurants. The "entertainment to the people" part is interesting and reminds me of a street magicians, hobo bands, or barbershop quartets. It will be interesting, but I am thinking the dance only entertainers may be on the chopping block.
They need more flat rides in this park. The old "Million Dollar Midway" back in the day with rides like the old Bayern Kurve, Schwabinchen, Monster, etc., and stop adding RESTAURANTS.
I for one am so very very glad the stage is leaving that area of the Midway. It clogged the flow through that area shut Iron Dragon down and made it difficult to flow through the park and get to the train. When they took out Wildcat they totally ruin the look of that Midway. I certainly hope they don't desecrate the boardwalk area it's beautiful it flows it is awesome the way it is it doesn't need a stage. While I enjoy entertainment my main focus to go to Cedar Point is to do the rides. I don't think their priority is to do big stage entertainment because if it was they would not have gotten rid of the Oceania theater where they could have done venues . They also got rid of the Good Times theater the old IMAX theater which also could have sat a lot of people anyway they don't need in my opinion another big stage area keep the stages smaller areas that don't block views or closed down rides which is people's main reason for going to Cedar Point
