  • A look back on the early days of Lance Armstrong. Here he is riding the Tour de France 1995. He had won a stage in his first Tour in 1993 and became World Champion at a very young age.
This was before his cancer and Tour champion days. He was a young man with fire in his eyes.
His teammate at the time on the Motorola team Fabio Casartelli died a tragic death at that years tour. Young Armstrong set out to win a stage for his fallen teammate.
    English commentary.

Every time I watch the stage win with the dedication to Fabio I always have goosebumps, every single time.
What ever one thinks of Lance he was a hell of a performer, athlete and cyclist.

It is hard for me not to root for Lance. Getting on an Eddy Merckx with a Motorola jersey was the standard setup for those fast Central Park rides. Those were the good ol' days.

Americans are always targeted and singled out. Armstrong is a true champion.

He was a malignant narcissist who ruined countless lives for his own benefit. He also took cheating to a level no one else had ever done or has ever done since. Read Tyler Hamilton's biography to get a true picture of Armstrong.

I'm not American but regarding the Tour de France I agree with you. Bjarne Riis admitted to doping and kept his TDF title. Doping went on from the 90's to the mid 00's but only Lance Armstrong and Floyd Landis were stripped of titles during that time.
