- In this video we look at a new release from Cross RC, the Gen 2 upgrade Demon gear box, or GB2. and we install a motor on it to see how hard or easy it is to do.
This upgrade gearbox is a direct fi for your Cross Demon models SG, SR, FR, SU, KR, and VR4

Great review, bro! From what we can see, even in the new (much improved!) version of the transmission, there is no possibility to adjust the distance of the pinion from the spur gear and so it is still impossible to install pinions with teeth different from the one chosen by Cross Rc. Is that it? 🙂

Good info. Wonder if the demon will finally see brushless?? Have an sg4c and always scared what a brushless would do to the trans might have to get one too see if it will hold up lol
Well, these are cheap compared to some transmissions, and from the looks of the GB2 I wouldn't be afraid to put a brushless system in it💪😎
Lee I have 7 demons fr-4, sp-4, sr-4,sg-4 vr-4, kr-4,su-4 and 1 gc-4. You can but from HRP and use there coupons codes and free shipping for orders over $75.00.

I’m concerned about too much play in the gear train where the vehicle rolls back and forth quite a bit. Any thoughts?
Some of that is from gear mesh, but I think the majority is from the drive shafts. I will probably be getting mine back out in a few weeks and will take a closer look🤙

@@BullgearRCvideos I put a fusion Pro in mine to try perk it up a bit I got loads of low end control and good wheel speed just wish woul ld go a bit faster top end lol that the only thing I don't like about this rig is that the gearing is fixed unless u change the gearbox altogether I might stick a scx10 ii box in it
@No Limit RC one thing I did with one of my Cross trucks was to swap the transfer case to and rc4wd that has adjustable overdrive. And if I remember it had two rear outputs that rotated opposite directions. It may be possible to flip the rear diff and play with the gearing in the transfer case to gear up some. But it's been a while and I don't remember the exact details
@@NoLimitRC87 Working on this right now and blew my stock trans. Gonna pick this up but noticed the shaft for the motor got in the way a bit. Did you have to do any trimming?
