    Last year I flew with United on a 777-300ER from Frankfurt to San Francisco and I was interested in seeing how American Airlines would compete. So I found a similar route from California back to Europe with AA once again on the 777-300ER. American’s service was quite competitive to that of United’s offering a solid product but without much extra. Still, it is always a joy to fly on the 777-300ER due to its large and modern interior and incredible GE90 engines. I understand that AA tends to be seen as the worst of the U.S. big 3, but honestly, flying them long was an absolute pleasure and I wouldn’t mind doing it again.

    Gosh, I can’t even imagine flying in first class. It would make the flight a million percent better.😅

    I am hoping for a better long-haul experience than I on my previous two long-hauls with American. Both were on 767s in 2005 and 2012. One was ORD-OGG and the other was JFK-BCN. On ORD-OGG they ran out of food you could only purchase before they even got to my row, and neither flight had IFE’s. I was on a 777-300ER for Air Canada in 2018 for YVR-YYZ and it was great. Found out yesterday we were changed from a 777-200ER to a 777-300ER like this for our JFK-FCO flight in June 2024. So maybe it will be good.

    Oohh that seat to seat chat looks cool. My kids will love that! Did you get to try it? How does the receiving party know they have a message? We'll be flying with this aircraft in a month same route. We are in 21 & 22. We were supposed to fly this aircraft LAX-MIA this past June in First class but the flight was cancelled and moved to a flight using 787-800 Max

      Unfortunately since I was flying alone I didn’t end up using the chat feature. I would assume how ever that a notification may pop up somewhere on the screen notifying the user that they have a message. Sorry to hear about the downgrade last summer but I’m sure you’ll enjoy your upcoming flight!

    You forgot to mention the pitch for Main Cabin Extra, which according to AA’s website is 36”. IIRC, the MCE seats also have up to 2” more recline; that’s the case for the A319s w/ the seat back TVs

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that I didn’t personally measure the seats in MCE but 36” sounds right

      @retroflashbackdude ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theplanefacts one thing I do wonder is how you found out the seat recline for Coach and premium economy cause I’ve looked everywhere for the recline and AA doesn’t publish the amount of recline on their website

      @theplanefacts  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@retroflashbackdude the reason why I have the measurements for the seat recline is because I carry a measuring tape with me on all my flights to get my own numbers

    I remember before they were serving drink and snack before the meal do they still serve that? and how was the crew because the crew who was front door he was a little bit rude no smile and nothing

    • @theplanefacts
      @theplanefacts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately no snack before the meal. In terms of crew, they weren’t super friendly but definitely not rude, which in my book is a win because I really don’t expect much from AA at this point.
