How to play SMT games in general: 1) first skill to acquire should be Media. If possible - on 2 different demons. 2) buffs/debuffs/dekaja/dekunda ASAP 3) never EVER bring anything boss can exploit. 4) try to bring elements you can exploit yourself, or in case of most bosses - what you can null/repel/drain. That will make them lose turns and not harm you too much. 5) enjoy game over screen after random encounter from behind.

Mitsuo was easy tho I had a terrible time with shido in p5 (took me 2 days to beat) and since then, I have given great attention to my buff/debuff skills
In my first ever Nocturne playthrough I steamrolled Matador because I got absurdly lucky with a Fusion Accident. I had been trying to fuse a level 13 demon when the accident happened....and it gave me freaking *MICHAEL* (at level 91!!!!) instead!
what the unholy fuck?? I didn't even know that was possible. I only had one fusion accident early on just past matador and it gave me the grudge hair chick that was like level 35 but her skills were garbage.
@@Moplonn You mean Yomotsu-Shikome? She's actually not that bad, she has decent resistances at the very least, but yeah, without decent skills to go with it she probably wouldn't do that well. And yeah, fusion accidents usually give you something that's not that good (in my experience, it's usually something mostly useless, like a Slime), my first accident in the Remaster gave me an Aeros (when I had been trying to make a Raiju in preparation for the Thor boss fight) for instance, but on extremely rare occasions they can give you something amazing. Michael in fact is one of the best demons in all of Nocturne, as he naturally Repels Expel, Nulls Magic, fully recovers all HP & MP after battle, has access to Tarukaja, and he also has a resistance to Fire, Ice, Elec, & Force. So he's a really good physical attacker demon.
It was even more funny when I realized that first mazan wasn’t slowed down for comedic effect but because the Game is threatening to crash the whole time

Im trying smt 3 for the first time and i finally beat matador! After failing a few times i brought null and rain force demons but got scared shitless when he got to his second phase and use focus + mean physical attacks. Needless to say i survived by a strand
Imagine having a Datsue-ba created through Fusion and armed with skills like Maragi and Mana Aid. Now, imagine that Datsue-ba has over 160 MP, a high Magic stat and can wipe out random encounters in the Great Underpass of Ginza. Imagine grinding like hell for over 80 hours and making your Demi-Fiend to be level 52, and having Kurama, Uzume and Nozuchi BEFORE fighting Matador.
@@user-bw4hy3ph6z Well, that is exactly what I did. The silver lining is that I managed to defeat Matador before he could even pull off his Focus + Andalucia combo. Even if Matador had succeeded in preforming it - it would not even need to have Uzume cast Media. Why did I do it? For the actual hell of it. The demons in my stock were able to take out Orthrus, Yaksini, Thor, Dante AND Daisoujou with the slightest of ease.
I did something similar. There's a really long highway in the area map which leads to a place full of Powers, Principalities, Archangels and some birds. Goddamn i grinded the hell out of that place

I had to be careful doing so because I never know when a Hama can connect against the Demi-Fiend and lay a great deal of progress to waste.

When I saw him heal I had to stop for a second because I realized he didn’t have Media yet. I don’t know how he even made it to Matador on hard.
beside the begining of the game on hard when you are alone the game isnt BS like it when you reach matador.....
I did as well, also without dekunda, I just strategize every battle and use well my resources, you know, as you should in a dungeon crawler
I didn't have Media when I first reached Matador. I fused a demon with it before I challenged him, though.
It probably involved a lot of retreating and a fckton of luck.
