Haven’t actually fought matador but I’ve been doing planning to see which team works best with him, and I decided a team with MC, Uzume, Bicorn, and Makami. MC because obvis lolz, just put the Hifumi Magatama on him and ur all good my g (I think that’s the right magatama anyway) Bicorn has Sukukaja naturally, and learns Bright Might at lvl 17, which makes normal attacks crit when the kagatsuchi phase is full, so that’s overall very good. Makami lacks Inugami’s Force weakness, and if you evolve him from said inugami, he keeps all of his skills, along with an increase in his stats (his MP gets a massive upgrade from base 60 to base 108, which is very stellar.) Inugami has Rakunda, Fog Breath, and Media, which are all decently good skills to have. Fog Breath sucks up a lot of MP though, so use it wisely. Uzume is basically a classic choice for Matador, she has media, which Makami gets too I guess, but a backup Media user isn’t the worst, especially because Makami’s MP wears out fast after using like 2 Fog Breath’s. There isn’t much else of a reason to use her, but she voids force, which is pretty good to stay away from Matador’s Mazan’s. so yea, that’s basically the team I’d use to beat matador’s ass lmao. Edit: don’t use hifumi magatama, I did some research and apparently Kamudo magatama blocks phys attacks, which is actually better for the 2nd phase of the battle, because Andalucia hits harder than Mazan (especially if ur taunted by Matador)
Matador’s duel of death was unfortunately spoiled for me, so I know the general strategy beforehand and beat him in one try. That said, he also nearly killed me anyway, so I definitely understand how bad that fight can go for a first timer
Smt "Oh hey, a bonus boss. Ah, he's not so bad" Back to SMT 3: "Everyone's dead! He 2-hit my team?! Why the hell does he know Dekaja?! Why do none of my demons know evade boost?! Why is he in like the third area? Why? WHHHHHHHHYYYYYY?!!!"
The bass always reminds me of Cynthia's theme. Fitting that these two ptsd inducing themes are similar, or it's just that the intensely repeating low bass is naturally intimidating and so it shows up in a lot of pieces meant to be intimidating.
In 2019, i'm still playing it on emulator for about a month now. First time play; reached Matador. He "Red Capote" himself up, I didn't have correct skills and even party, he destroyed me about 20+ times (no joke), and finally forced me to realized I screwed up everything in terms of demons and skills, also lack of knowledge, started again from the beginning. The fiend that I find to be annoying is... Either Hell Biker or Pale Rider. Hell Biker because of his Hell Spin that he loves to spam instead of Hell Exhaust (if you expect him to do that and bring out anti-force party for him,) Pale Rider because of his goddamn Loa summons that can just spam Debilitate or Last Resort you without any warning is enough before Pale Rider add insult to injury with his Blight (physic, poison) to Perstilience (insta-kill poisoned party). Black Rider can be a bit of a frick if you backing away from attacking him or if you are just focus on trying to "incapacitate" his Legion summons before attacking him. He'll spam God's Curse, or Megidola (powered up with his costum Legion's Makakaja.) Red Rider can be mention too, it's his Terrorblade and his elemental (Wind Cutter and Bolt Storm) that going to be a nightmare.
I only play nocturne, so i'm not a legitemate SMT fan to begin with... So there you go. Also, my reason is going to be ridiculous (so laugh at it if it's fun) to try play an SMT game like Nocturne because the "Featuring Dante from Devil May Cry" and that's it. And when you poor and don't have any means to get an "legitemate" things, nothing more needs to be point out. Hope it clears things up for you.
For matador, you have to get a magatama that nulls force spells and I suggest reach level 18 to fuse ame no uzume. She nulls force spells too and she has media. And maybe make your inugami become a makagami. It'll inherit fog breath
Matador is a newbies/noobs destroyer, not gonna lie. I had to restarted from the beginning since I screwed up my own skillset, my demons, and broken in macca. I then read bunch of guides, tried to understand the game's gimmicks of buffs and debuffs, fusions and evolution, hero build/skills, and so forth. Now, whenever I'm going to fight the Matador. I have to be in at least level 25, to have fog breath in my own skillset. Then ingest null force magatama (Hifumi), for the demons, I go with Ame no Uzume, Nekomata, and Nozuchi since they null/drain force attacks. Both three I get through fusion and do a sacrifice fusion to at least they have one or two levels up, and small exp to get them up to the next level so they can learn their preset skills. Once have all the set up ready, Matador barely have any chance if he choose to keep spamming Mazan. The only other thing that need worry about Matador is him using Focus and then into Andalucia. No Rakukaja at least (Nozuchi have it), then good luck in try to survive the damage.
This theme could definitely be a boss theme for a factory or a steam power machine or something like that with that "hisssss" noise. Love this theme lol

Also, did you know you can use Stone Gaze on the Virtues and Powers? Yeah, they are weak to that. My first playthrough , enters a room and a massage said something about flame of monorach, i was like dahek with monorach?? And then getting wiped by metador 😂
I actually beat Matador first try, on my first playthrough. Went into the fight with everyone at half health, one demon paralyzed, two demons weak to Zan. Sukunda Jack Frost and Rakukaja Inugami saved my ass. That and all my MP items and 3 Bead Chains. Took a lot of items but I'd still say it's worth it though.
That feel when you remember you have a magatama and party members that eat Force attacks. Matador: [cast Mazan] Hitoshura: [absorbs] Fiend Theme: [record scratch] Matador: Wait. That's illegal. Hito: [uses Focus] Matador: WTF THAT'S ILLEGAL TOO. Hito: [punches the shit out of him] Matador: Oh fuck. I am in DANGER.
@@airbornezombie7655 not really? It means the same thing but isn't literally saying "Demi Fiend" in English. The sound of the word "Hitoshura" sounds nicer, is what I'm trying to get at.
Yet it turns around during the Rider fights where the bosses will have trouble keeping up. Their minions use healing and buffing/debuffing, several Meditations/Life drain/Mana drains later and that threat becomes null and void. You can get Mana Drain from Blob, a relatively early game demon as well as from a Magatama.

When I figured that out I went.... I think it was Hifumi, then Ame-no-Uzume, Kodama, and Nozuchi
Or you could do I did which tarukaja+ force + sukukaja featuring monmofu and bicorn
I thought I was ready for Matador more or less considering I've beat IV but NOPE. 4 LEVELS OF EVASION IN ONE TURN?!?!?! Okay game, okay.
Only in Nocturne, man... Which is why the others will never be quite as ruthless, lol.
Still one of the most badass rpgs ever
Great, time to deal with Red Capote in HD now...
Use buffs lol
Grind up dekaja stones lol
Raise Preta to learn Sukukaja.
Haven’t actually fought matador but I’ve been doing planning to see which team works best with him, and I decided a team with MC, Uzume, Bicorn, and Makami.
MC because obvis lolz, just put the Hifumi Magatama on him and ur all good my g (I think that’s the right magatama anyway)
Bicorn has Sukukaja naturally, and learns Bright Might at lvl 17, which makes normal attacks crit when the kagatsuchi phase is full, so that’s overall very good.
I probably overthought/overprepared on how to beat Matador, but if he’s such a casual filterer I guess anything goes w him
Lyrics: "This is epic music"
I can hear the echos of the word Zio while reading that comment… NICE
Matador’s duel of death was unfortunately spoiled for me, so I know the general strategy beforehand and beat him in one try. That said, he also nearly killed me anyway, so I definitely understand how bad that fight can go for a first timer
I heard of a skeleton crew but these guys are insane!

Back to SMT 3: "Everyone's dead! He 2-hit my team?! Why the hell does he know Dekaja?! Why do none of my demons know evade boost?! Why is he in like the third area? Why? WHHHHHHHHYYYYYY?!!!"

The song that plays when you know that Death is near
oh hello I am death and am 100 miles from you sooo start running
The bass always reminds me of Cynthia's theme. Fitting that these two ptsd inducing themes are similar, or it's just that the intensely repeating low bass is naturally intimidating and so it shows up in a lot of pieces meant to be intimidating.
tfw a random skull guy killed you for a chandelier
When I got to Beelzebub I realized the fiends were just training wheels.
Love this theme lol

i struggled more with white rider and god is he insanely good, but what i did for the riders is i just didnt kill the minions, i did all my damage on the rider, and then just dekunda whenevr they debuffed me
@@Windygowastaken White Rider is easy, he spawns right next to the shop that has all the counters for him. Buy Nirvana, then roll up on his ass. Also, did you know you can use Stone Gaze on the Virtues and Powers? Yeah, they are weak to that. The Riders won't use Dragon Eye, since the minions are still out, but now they have no one supporting them.
My first playthrough , enters a room and a massage said something about flame of monorach, i was like dahek with monorach?? And then getting wiped by metador 😂
I unironically imagine it playing every time I go make my physics test

Super late to this game bit I just beat trumpeter today and its s little bitter sweet these boss fights were quite cool if not frustrating
SMT 3 SWITCH PORT ANNOUNCED TODAY BB!!!

Thank you Uzume 🙏

Of all the SMT battle themes this is the one that feels the most like fighting something that's trying to drag you in to hell
the theme of me not knowing mother harlot reflected phys and one-shotting myself

Hitoshura: [absorbs]
Fiend Theme: [record scratch]
Matador: Wait. That's illegal.
Hito: [uses Focus]
Matador: WTF THAT'S ILLEGAL TOO.
Hito: [punches the shit out of him]
Matador: Oh fuck. I am in DANGER.
Why do people call him hitoshura? Like bro just say demi fiend
@@airbornezombie7655 I like Hitoshura because it sounds more like a real name. "Demi Fiend" just makes him sound like a bland object.
@@lazkennedy well hitoshura means demi fiend so that's a dumb reason
@@airbornezombie7655 not really? It means the same thing but isn't literally saying "Demi Fiend" in English. The sound of the word "Hitoshura" sounds nicer, is what I'm trying to get at.

The "Unsufficient Mp" Song
Yet it turns around during the Rider fights where the bosses will have trouble keeping up. Their minions use healing and buffing/debuffing, several Meditations/Life drain/Mana drains later and that threat becomes null and void. You can get Mana Drain from Blob, a relatively early game demon as well as from a Magatama.
