    • @asymsolutions
      @asymsolutions 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not him but they are all over the place, some are just an andriod OS with AA/Car play able to be brought up, some are a custom skinned linux OS with AA interacting. The problem with the former is they are way to cellphone-ish which doesn't translate well into driving and the a bunch of the later are using out of date cheap hardware that lags which is actually a real issue when driving.
      There is a few good ones out there but you will be paying for it.

    You've got good taste Topher. I was dailying my 05 passion red S60R for about 4 years, now I am driving my black 2nd gen 1995 4runner 3.0 V6 with 2in OME lift and 33x10.5 inch BFG KO2 tires every day.
    Can get about 18mpgs if I try, its very comfortable and versatile. Obviously not as quick but does well in offroad. Only has 127,000 mi. I installed new speakers and a Kenwood DDX370 double din. Looks sharp with all the chrome. Has a brush guard. I added a rear tire carrier so I will need to upgrade the rear springs again. I can drive it anywhere without fear of breaking down like in my caR.
    Really does feel like my $3000 4runner feels like its worth $13,000

    I like the sitting position for the driver, I'm 6'1" and I like how it's like I'm sitting on the floor. My wife is 6'1" and her knees are up almost to her chest when in passenger seat.
    They really, really, really need to make the 4Runner about 4 inches taller inside the cab for us tall people.
    The 3rg gen, even though it looks classic, has the worse sitting position I've ever seen in 40 years.

    • @keithveloso2822
      @keithveloso2822 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm like the opposite. I took this same model for a test drive and I didn't like how low the seats were and like you said, almost sitting on the floor... and the windshield angle was so steep, it felt like I'm inside a bunker. i want to seat high up with lots of visibility so I went with a 2008 Honda pilot instead.

    Nice 4Runner that you can enjoy driving instead of worrying about getting dents on the GX. My 23 year old third generation, supercharged 1999 4Runner is also my preferred daily driver. I owned it for the last 17 years and drove coast to coast a couple of times. Nimble on the trails, super simple to work on, and the parts are relatively cheap compared to Land Cruiser parts. My other vehicles are the GX470 and LX570 and they are primarily used for family overland trips. Final note regarding aftermarket exhaust. I had TRD exhaust in the 4Runner for 8 years but I got tired of the droning sound on the highway. Your wife/kids will likely hate it. I eventually replaced it with a 5th gen 4Runner exhaust muffler. Much quieter in the cabin and I can enjoy hearing the supercharger whine.

    4runner looks great! Love the mods so far. I'm thinking of picking up a 4th gen myself as a daily. I hope you have more 4runner vlogs coming soon!

    I noticed some 4th Gen 2009, SR5 6 cylinder come with car play is it possible they upgraded the stereo? Also is the rear spoiler or wing necessary? I notice the one I’m looking to buy has neither Apple car play or spoiler. Although it’s super clean and 99.9 set on buying it, proving my mechanic approves. I’m just curious about these two options.

    What advantages does this gen 4runner give you over the current V6 model? I would be looking at doing light to moderate offroading and, moving PPG Gear, Bikes, and potentially towing (not very often). Thanks

    If you want a nice sounding exhaust setup, go with a Gibson cat-back and a K&N CAI, it sounds good when you get on it but if you just want to drive around normally and not have any idea you have a modified exhaust, you can. It’s totally worth the money, I’ve got that setup on mine right now.

    Nice 4runner just picked up a 2003 v8 out in clinton Township. Drove up from the birch run area didn't even know there is an off rd park in Holly. Do you still have your truck? I've been thinking about lifting mine. Would be nice to communicate with you . I would love to see your setup. Tx
