    you're doing great work mate. There is so much misinformation (particularly from vets) out there and it's great to have guides made available so people can feed their dog a balanced wholefood diet without the complexities

    I don't have a dog but feed my two cats a raw diet. Fully raw. Best choice I ever made for them. It's amazing what a fresh, unprocessed, balanced and biologically appropriate diet can do. It's crazy to think we have drifted so far from reality that most think a diet of highly processed starchy floor scrapings counts as peak nutrition for carnivorous animals 😂

    As a testimonial, I have been feeding my dogs raw for years. When I got Frank my 27 lb mixed breed dog, he was eating a low quality processed diet. His teeth were in horrible shape and I got him on raw (gradually). Within the first 30 days I saw the plaque receding and his teeth were in amazing shape. He is now 13 years old and is as vibrant as he was when I got him at 3.5 years of age. No one can believe that he is 13 years old! I also got a small 20lb mixed breed female who is now 10 years old. Same story, no one can believe she is 10! Treat them like family, feed them appropriately. They will give you many loving years and limited visits to the vet. I have only had one major situation in all these years. Frank was admitted to the ER shortly after I got him with HGE. The vet staff performed life saving measures and he recovered. I shortly after switched him to a raw diet and integrated probiotics. They told me the HGE could reoccur but thank goodness, it never came back. They have been healthy, vivacious, and keep up with the best of em' even at their ages. Long life to all the pets out there!!!

      I have been cooking and gentle cooking for my dog for the past two years. He is three. I recently started with our raw food journey. It’s been a little bit over a week I’m very familiar with adding supplements etc. based on his home-cooked diet from before. I recently switched to roll instead of cooking because I have to have surgery on my hand and cutting food is hard. I did purchase raw vibrance from Dr. Harvey’s. I did noticed that most of the ingredients in the dried mix or what I was putting in my dogs food hence minus all the labor. It’s quite expensive and my dog doesn’t really like it lol any tips on how to make this journey a little bit easier for me? And thank you.

    • @thedognutritionist
      @thedognutritionist  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi! Pumpkin seeds can either be raw or roasted. Raw seeds are generally preferred as they retain more nutrients and enzymes, making them easier to digest. If you choose roasted seeds, ensure they are unsalted and free of added oils or seasonings. Regardless of the form, pumpkin seeds should be given in moderation.

    I've suggested this to people, but they choose not to make the time to learn, or to make it. Then they get upset when their pets get cancer and other diseases, and are willing to spend hundreds, even thousands for vet care that so easily could have been prevented with a quality diet. Yet they claim they don't have the time or money to feed raw. Anyone else see the hypocrisy? They have time and money to go on expensive outings and vacations though, and get upset when the dog they "love" suffers. Not liking truth and facts doesn't invalidate them. If you actually love your dog, prove it. What you prioritize speaks volumes about you.

    Im always scared to give my dog beef bones...or chicken bones ...I mean what happens if it gets stuck in her throat...those chicken leg bones are thick and Sharp....her teeth are worn down because of her previous life...(she’s a rescue dog)she loves to chew things like toys balls ect. ❤

      You can get a good quality grinder. Research grinders. Don't get the cheap ones they don't grind chicken bones. You can grind the whole leg or the whole chicken including bones. Bones are a nessasary item since you get calcium, fats, and other whole food nutrients. The bone marrow is so important for them too. Organs, green tripe, bones, and muscle.

    I follow Dr Judy Morgan, she is a certified nutritionist, animal activist and teacher how to feed and care for our animals. I came across you and I like getting samples of new ideas, but I must disagree with you about your form of processing the veggies, eggshells, and fruits, if you do not process these ingredients to a smooth, no bits, or soft cooked and crushed, these ingredients do not digest, they go in one end and out the other end. Folks look at your dog's poo, you will see bits of these ingredients, why, because they did not digest, and the dogs and cats don't get the benefits of those ingredients. Your proteins (meats and fish) are okay to leave in bits or chunks, they do indeed digest, but not the veggies and fruits. And be dang careful with bones, grind them up, you do not want to end up at the vet needing surgery due to blockage. If you feed raw, use a meat grinder to combine meats, bones and fruits veggies eggshell, or a strong food processor, like Vitamix or similar of course I am not sure they can process raw bones, but meat grinders can.

      I've fed raw to my current dog since he was eleven months old. He is eleven months old now and I am not young. I've never had any problems. I fed my last dog raw for the six years I had him. He died at ten years. His prior life before me was awful. He was fought, used as bait, had a horrible life. He was in such bad shape from his first owner. It was a blessing to give him six wonderful years. I miss my boy. Raw food extended his life. I know since saw him how bad he was before he came to me. Thankfully my brother in law and my sis gave him to me. They had him for two weeks before his first rescuer adopted him and left him with my sis. I wound up with him in the end. He was a gentleman and kind creature.
