To be honest the people saying that are just over thinking it / don’t protect their app.
I have limits on the app so vercel cannot charge me more than $100 and plus it’s sooo convenient

tbh it's efficient and very good. i'm more than happy to pay a premium especially if it helps my revenue. either way you're gonna be locked in with a provider. AWS isn't much better
