Gall Law, all complex systems that work evolved from simpler systems that worked. If you want to build a complex system that works, build a simpler system first, and then improve it over time.
I am in the same shoes, but have some excuse for waiting before starting building so trying to come up with simpler stack for my app. The thing is, I don't know if nextjs is the right choice for this. It's architecture is really complex for understanding and you never need like 50% of the framework. Also spending hours on some weird nextjs issue doesn't help. It is capable framework, but doesn't look like good choice for solo dev So now I am experimenting with astro and remix both of which are much simpler with similar capabilities. Have you considered other frameworks or languages to make your life easier? Either way, hope it works out for you.
The challenge of choosing the right tech stack is something common not only among solo devs but also big tech companies. There is no ideal tool. I have tried and worked with different thing, php stuff, python stuff django/flask, other js stuff. any of them could work. but so far, nextjs is the quickest option, both backend and frontend, simple deployment with vercel. and a lot of support and tools around it.
wow! thank you.

Cool vid! Did you implement any rate-limiting for Codemizer prompts? and/or for guest vs authed users?
Just using the Google captcha would be enough to control the requests.
Why would you not choose express as a backend instead of python django ?
He used nextjs which is practically express on the backend
