  • Sting plays his song "Every Breath You Take" live in concert with the San Francisco Symphony before a sold-out crowd at Davies Symphony Hall on February 15, 2024. Every Breath You Take appeared on The Police's fifth and final studio album, Synchronicity (1983). It reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, won a Grammy Award for Song Of The Year, and was credited as being the most played song in radio history. Sting is a Grammy Award winning British singer-songwriter from Newcastle, England who was a founding member of the band The Police.
This was one of only a handful of shows Sting is playing with symphony orchestras, including upcoming shows with the Philadelphia Orchestra on March 8-9 and the The Florida Orchestra in St. Petersburg, FL on May 9. Joining him onstage were Edwin Outwater (conductor), Rob Mathes (music director, piano, and keyboards), Wyatt Underhill (concertmaster / violin), Ben Butler (guitar), Kaveh Rastegar (bass), Nate Laguzza (drums), and the musicians of the San Francisco Symphony.

    Every Breath You Take lyrics:
    Every breath you take
    And every move you make
Every bond you break, every step you take
    I'll be watching you
    Every single day
    And every word you say
Every game you play, every night you stay
    I'll be watching you
    Oh, can't you see
    You belong to me?
    How my poor heart aches
    With every step you take
    Every move you make
    Every vow you break
Every smile you fake, every claim you stake
    I'll be watching you
Since you've gone I've been lost without a trace
I dream at night, I can only see your face
    I look around, but it's you I can't replace
I feel so cold, and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby please,
    Oh, can't you see
    You belong to me?
    How my poor heart aches
    With every step you take
    Every move you make
    Every vow you break
Every smile you fake, every claim you stake
    I'll be watching you
Every move you make, every step you take
    I'll be watching you
    I'll be watching you

Thanks for watching my video. I gathered all the songs I shot at this concert in a TH-cam playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLwdc0qZNx0tYytPMu-Q_-zrxZ9v7kpD8g.html. The songs are The Last Ship, Shape Of My Heart, Russians, King Of Pain (The Police), Every Breath You Take (The Police), Desert Rose, and Fragile. Enjoy!

    What was this recorded on?

I use a little pocket-sized Sony camera called the DSC-HX99. Sony hasn't released a new version of this camera line in almost 5 years, so at this point it's weaker than the newest smartphone cameras on things like the sensor and image processing. The one edge it still has is the 30x optical zoom, which means if I can hold the camera super still (like resting it on a railing), I can get these clear closeups from many rows away. I also edit the videos in a video processor afterwards, which in this case I needed to do to boost the volume, pop the color, and reduce the overexposure on Sting's face from the spotlight.

@@TimBracken I figured it couldn't be a phone by how good the Zoom was.

@TimBracken Areyou just using the internal mics of the camera ,or do you have an external mic?

@PROGROCK-tr9hw - Yep, just the two internal mics. This camera doesn't have a hot shoe or any other way to connect an external mic. I actually think the built-ins are pretty high fidelity. To a fault sometimes. On quieter videos, I hear all manner of little sounds in the recordings, like people opening a water bottle, closing a door, talking to each other, and, if I'm not careful, the sound of the zoom ring. Argh. Anyway, here are the audio specs if you're curious:
XAVC S:LPCM 2ch, AVCHD: Dolby Digital (AC-3) 2ch (Dolby Digital Stereo Creator)

@TimBracken thanks for the info buddy!I currently just use my phone for recording live concerts, but I'm interested in purchasing a camera that's compact. The video quality is fine on the phone but the zoom isn't the best and the sound isn't great.
