I'm sorry to tell you, but from 916 the one that changed the world of motorbikes, 996/998 the dream....but what gave it the character was the sound, the music, the balance, and the goosebumps that gave and again from a Ducati. From an Italian who had recognized motorbikes only by their sound since he was 5 years old. The only way to make me dizzy and search with my eyes were and are the Ducatis.
Nah. I’ll take a 999 over a 916-998 any day. They haven’t aged as well as the 999. Own a rather special 999R with a full titanium akra RS system. It sounds, looks and handles amazing
Cool back story thank you for sharing; so the 999 was panned by fans of the 916-998 even though the 999 was better in every performance metric. Is that repeating now with the new V4 vs '24< V4s?

My ultimate dream bike. The 999 is what opened the world of motorcycling to me. Has its own beautiful look that ruffled a lot of feathers.
This was the bike that brought me into the Ducati family. Unfortunately I had to let her go during the Covid crisis, but someday I'll get another one.

The 999R fila was a 204.5 model not 2005. Only 50 were sold in the USA
