    You just made the job so much more work than it needed to be. You measured the distance from the bottom of the adapter to the sole of the club, and then did a bunch of math to figure out what length the shaft should be to get the desired club length. What I would have done would be to install the adapter into the head, then slip the shaft into the adapter, and then just measure the club length. If the length was 1/2" more than desired, I'd just cut 1/2" off the shaft and be done with it. Same results, just a whole lot less work. It's. simple and easy and far less chance of making an error doing any math, that we all know could go wrong. Your way works, My way works, but is a lot easier and faster to do the same thing.

    Thank you for the mention! Unfortunately, I didn't realize that I had sent you Titleist driver tip shafts and not fairway wood shafts. I just sent you the correct adapter (fairway wood) tips and shafts again. Totally my fault. Looks like delicate and exacting work. Thank you again for providing this service. I hope I am not being a pain by resending them.

    It's actually Quaranta. Which is the number 40 in Italian. Which they used because the shafts are Raw weigh in the Sub 50 grams range. Love the videos! I built a shaft puller based on the one I've seen in your videos with the Bottle Jack.

    Wish I had found this channel before I tried to rig up my favorite driver to play the past weekend... Nike Vapor Fly Pro shaft adapter had its threads stripped and couldn't be tightened enough to prevent rattle after just addressing the ball. I stopped playing with it that day out of fear of the head flying off luckily. However, out of grief and poor judgement decided to fill the threads with lock-tight Red and tighten it as much as I could before it slipped. Well I haven't touched it yet and am fearing it won't last and will make replacing the shaft adapter even harder. It is set to the spec's I play at so if it doesn't come apart good, but I should have just did it the correct way from the beginning!

    Very nice explanatory video. Thanks for a great job.
    I have an inexpenxive MD Golf Superfit Driver Head on a JavlnFX Mitsubishi Rayon shaft which I REALLY like. This driver has adjustable loft but it is the type that you have to turn the shaft to go up or down any degrees. This of course makes my grip alignment off from where I like to place my hands over the marking to make srue I have the correct angle of my driver.
    My quesiton is can I put on a Callaway or Titleist adjustable adapter on this set up? Can you use those on ANY head of shaft? Or do you know of one I could use that is the cog type I could put on so I don't have to turn my shaft when I want to chenge loft angles? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you very much for your time and keep up the good work on the videos.

    Thanks for the video. I recently obtained a Callaway Alpha 815 3 and 5 wood at a garage sale. They have Callaway Optifit adapters on the shafts. On the ends of these adapters is a small sleeve/bushing that appears to snap onto the end of the Optifit adapter. This part is the first part that goes into the clubhead when attaching the adapter to the clubhead. I noticed that on the 3 wood that this part is broken into two pieces, and I have to hold the pieces together on the adapter end while reinserting the adapter into the clubhead, or else the pieces just fall off. Can I buy this adapter/bushing as a single part? If so, where would I get it, and what is that part really called?

    A lot of adapters may have a small or big ferrule to it. When you remove the adapter the way you do it, does that ferrule follow or stay behind because it is clued to the shaft. I have found to get replacements you have to buy the adapter to get it. To get the exact ferrule is almost impossible, oem won’t sell it, what do you do.

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      the ferrule is replaced when I do the removals. Titleist is easy to find at golf works so is Taylor made. The hardest IMO is Callaway as it only comes with the adapter. However I come close with 1/2 collared ferrules

    Hoping this is a the appropriate place to ask for advice. New to golf so trying to save some pennies I am trying to put together a driver, I had the head and adapter and recently found a shaft cheap online. When I got it home I noticed that when they sanded the tip it was not done evenly. When I slide the adapter on it is obviously crooked. Is there a way to build up the tip then re-sand it? Perhaps epoxy putty?
    Thanks

    • @theprodigalprophet
      @theprodigalprophet 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, he's not answering you, but I can: you errored in purchasing a shaft on the cheap. My approach: I only want to buy things once. Better to spend more for a quality product, than buying a cheap product 10 times.

  • @williamelliott3778
    @williamelliott3778 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My question is how do you get the shaft to be tight but not too tight with the adapter? Sometimes it seems the adapter is a tight fit--and it's touchy on how much to sand--AND then sometimes you put an adapter on and it gets stuck. How vigorously do you tap it down? Before you pull it off with a puller...and start again. thanks

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      in any case the idea is to seat the shaft at the bottom of the of the hosel. adjustable or not. if it takes a bit more sanding becasue of added layers of paint then sand a bit more. If it is loose and depending on how much it is loose consider a shim or some centering beads

    There's much ado about spining shafts and all that good stuff. My question is doesn't that really go out the window when speaking to an adjustable driver, you can literally rotate the shaft 365 degrees. As always thank you for your great videos.

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 things, 1) it depends on the adjustable driver. Callaway does not twist, you set cogs in the position. Again it depends on the maker.
      2) if you have been fit and the builder puts in the spec and in the adaptor then there really isnt a need to move it after. but if you did then yes

    Hi. I have a Cobra driver. My Q is.....!.....What is the lowest loft/degree adaptors can be set to.
    Believe me!....I need a 5° loft. Yes five degrees. Lets not argue. Bryson de C use a 5.5°......probably custom built by Cobra.
    If you didnt know.....The late Calvin Pete who held driving accuracy nr.1 spot for 10yrs used a 4degree driver.
    I naturally hitball high. So I loose a lot of distance as result.
    Higher equals wider.....fact!
    Lower is staighter!
