I would have listened to jonh sing the theme song to the hill street blues tv show from an out house in Alaska on a cold winters night cause he would have done it with heart I figure it must have taken him the whole next day to get to heaven as much soul as he had to rise . he was an uncommon common man and my world's a better place for haveing his music in it and if I might say so so is yours .
I was privileged to see John and his group of musical friends in Lagrange Ga. last spring. They electrified an open air venue full of old and young. After he did a jig around his guitar and left the stage, we were reminded that genius does not get old. I hope that gentle currents are carrying him towards the Rochester dam.
I did not "discover" John Prine until after his passing. Missed seeing him in person, but trying to make up by listening to him everyday! Best lyrics ever not to mention the music. RIP.

My dad and Billy were buddies in grade school. Maywood Illinois. Dad remembers John when he was a nobody playing on the front porch

Opened with the usual humor of John. This song is the one that introduced me to the talent of John, and a youth that I could relate to.
His spirit is wherever Fiona is. He will never be forgotten!
Something tells me his spirit still hangs out in Meuelinberg County. Or at least were Fiona is at. Never to be forgotten!
Imagine having John Prine as your older brother.. cool..
Had to share. Miss you JP. :(

John and Fiona have a house in that region. I've been to that establishment, but oh how I would have loved to have seen John and Billy there.
