I’m Thai Buddhist live in the uk and I met my long term partner a Muslim guy from Afghanistan , now we be together for 10 year and got 3 kid , we have no problem at all , we respect each other and no one had to change anything, truly happy. By the way we going back to Thailand next week and my home is in Krabi town , we will be going to Lanta island too , hope will se you guy as I told my parents about your simple life in lanta island and he love it so much , we planing to move back Thailand in 2 year time so would be nice 😊

Religion and religious cannot be separated. My grandma was from Pattani and migrated to Kedah, Malaysia. I guess by now you understood many things and are learning more.

I went through the same situation when the first time I went home to introduce my Muslim husband to my parents.They didn't want to meet us .It was hard to build a good relationships back then,but it got better after my first child was born

I don't mind marrying a non-muslim lady at all. It's not easy for older people to adjust to a new tradition specifically if they live in a place where there is a lot of pressure on them because of other people.

What we all do for the parents and the name of love.
Thank you for telling your story. I personally understand your situation. I went through a similar experience myself. You can say anything, but what your heart is truly dictates who you are. So long as we can accept this by closing one eye and one ear, something we do well in Thailand which helps to preserve our tolerance to differences, we can all live in harmony in society. I wish your family great prosperity and happiness.
You say it very well! As a westerner I first think, why do people just not say the truth, why they have to lie. But later I understand more about the culture and about respecting the elderly, I understand more. And there is also something very beautiful about keeping the harmony and trying to keep your parents happy. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Big hugs to you ❤️❤️❤️

So glad your father in law realised what was really important and found a solution that would make everyone happy! Cultural traditions often get confused with religious dogma. I was also fascinated to learn that you are of Jewish origin! I've been to Israel twice, as a former neighbour of ours got married over there a d settled in a suburb of Tel Aviv. It's good to see that you are a free spirit though, and have not allowed religion to ruin your Lovestory!
@@ReelLifePhotos yeah religion was a hot topic in the beginning of our relationship. And it was never our problem as we saw the world in similar way, but it was a problem for parents and the need of Mon to respect and please them. So happy that it all ended up well indeed. I guess we are lucky in that sense.

Awesome guys and so looking forward to the upcoming visit to Pattani. This was the perfect introduction to us meeting Mon's parents via your next vlog if hopefully they are not camera shy, and experiencing some Muslim culture first hand. Maybe they won't be comfortable with that, if so then a tour of a Mosque would be interesting for sure, maybe an introduction to any variant to Thai food relative to Muslims, ie. differences, if any, between traditional Thai Buddhist foods and traditional Thai Muslim foods if that makes sense. Maybe that's a topic for Mon's cooking class :) Just wondering. Thanks Maayan :)

I'm a Christian and I married a Buddhist. Parents have been an obstacle but we stayed true to our love and we got two handsome boys now. Your story perfectly lended itself. We rarely discuss religion. Our religion was respect for each other's faith. I always tell my wife that if the UN can convene a meeting, why not us? We are just two. The only pending issue is our boys... we're not sure which religion boys fit into.

We are all the same, different cultures, but if there is love between the two, nothing else matters, my wife is from the USA and I am from Costa Rica.
I think you handled that situation really well. I am very happy to find your channel and see the subtitles in two languages. I have more respect for non thais who live in Thailand that learn to speak Thai than I do for non Thais who live there and don't, so I was very happy to hear you going between the languages with ease in other videos. Religion, nationality, race, education, occupation, gender, political views, age etc don’t matter but love concurs all with good communication such as understanding each other’s differences and respect. I just love this channel!
