Not gonna lie, I kind of wish they made the mask character a 2d cartoon character instead of Carrey wearing a mask. Sort of an evolution on Roger Rabbit’s mixing of animation and live action.
7:11 That's funny, because they actually thought on that and made some test animations with a cgi fish with Jim Carrey's human face. It's weird you never aknowledge that in tour video.
The sketches for Jim Carrey/Limpetfish were only PRELIMINARY, and there was plenty of time to tweak it several more times. No reason to think that the final film would have looked exactly like this.......
You're probably right on that, I mean look at the preliminaries for The Mask. It looked pretty nightmarish but in the finished product it looks freaking amazing, I guess they freaked out a bit too much and didn't give them a chance to do it a bit better.
You may say this looks terrible (which it does) but I feel had this been made, it would've been discovered by millennials and Gen-Z kids that grew up watching and defended it when someone says bad things about it out of nostalgia.
Hmmm, with the right people and visionaries it could work but they should avoid doing the whole "uncanny valley" thing, if they're insistent on using CGI then make it more cartoony like what they did with Sonic's redesign over at Paramount Pictures. But honestly they should do it with 2D animation, it's better that way and we don't get that much traditionally drawn animated movies like back in the day.
@@harrisonlittrell1140 The first one, use CG for the surface shots since filming on an actual ocean is a bit tricky and use traditional animation for the underwater scenes (maybe sprinkle in some CG to make the underwater world look beautiful).
Ok I just passted down to your channel and viewing it thanks to the recomendations I wasnt certainly expecting such a delicious or new channel as I thought with such manners of how you portray your videos you were actually a well known unusual or rare gem but it was an unusual rare gem that only arrived in here and so Im glad to have met your channel Im sorry if that sounded odd anyway.. I do feel odd when Its a bit cloudy
Nice content you will grow fast! I have a question do you like Mexican stuff? Reviews of Mexican films that "Mesa que más aplauda" parody of Shrek in one of your videos. I'm intrigued
The reason Mr. Limpet worked with Don Knott’s was because he had the fish lips! My goodness! That monstrosity of a fish with Jim Carey and those choppers, well it would probably if he was playing a horse or a donkey, not a fish!🙄
The original Mask concept art was quite horrifying too.

I love weird fish movies lol.
Maybe Warner Animation Group could remake the film.

Why oh why must they give the fishes teeth?!
Yeah, teeth does really make the whole thing worse. Kind of like sonic's new design in the movie.

Oh come on! Shark Tale was a good movie! Of course the actors' faces were on fish! IT'S A CARTOON FROM DREAMWORKS!

I agree with you Porpcupine 5:12
I would have seen the weird Jim Carrey version.
Man.. this is one weird fish movie...
.
I don't want another shark tale movie
Ironically, watching the final artwork design, you would now visually appreciate Shark tale than Jim Carrey’s fish
