This is the most intensely american sequence in cinema history. Something about Don staring dead-eyed into the camera and marching is sending me into hysterics. Gotta love Don Knotts
This movie is 1964 in a nutshell. The perfect patriotic movie to lift the United States up after the assassination of JFK only months before. Only Don Knotts could have pulled off the lead role.
I agree with you..100!% Classic movie lover..It would be great to suggest a Henry Limpet Day". I love this movie and the performers..who worked on this film.

I loved this movie as a kid. Don Knotts was pretty popular back then as Barney Fife on Andy Griffith. The fact that is was real people and animation in same film was revolutionary back then. Color tv had just become something available on home tvs.
I've actually always found this whole bit to be kind of sad, since he imagines himself returning to his human form after his mission was complete, which of course wasn't gonna happen.
Northrop Flying Wing to Manta Ray...that takes a creative mind. Brilliant.
I really love this movie. I’m like Mr. Limpet, only I wish I were a dolphin because they are playful, cute, and intelligent. I love them.🐬

Wish both Denise and Stuart were spun off into their own show. I liked the characters.

Don Knotts' best movie!
Except it's too tricky for Cartoon Network to air.

The sung part at 1:08 sounds like a familiar tune. Does anyone know if that was already part of a song?
