I have a roam one, but leave it plugged in all the time unless I go for a short walk. I’ve noticed the battery doesn’t last as long. Are they just dying? They needed to come out with an entirely new model with a better battery and charging system? Has anybody figured out a way to replace the battery like they do with other Bluetooth speakers? Seems like the JBL’sspeakers batteries switch isn’t too incredibly difficult. They definitely sound better.
@@PurpleMrMojo its possibile to change the battery of the roam but its extremely complicated to do so. my roam just died a week ago right after using it. its frustrating..
My Roam constantly disconnects from Wifi. If you google this problem, you'll see numerous complaints about the same thing. Did they correct this problem in the Roam 2?
@ColetteCrisp We did not have any connection issues while we were testing out the Roam 2, but since it has only been available for a short time it's hard to say what will happen long term. We have it on display on our showroom floor so we can certainly keep an eye out for any wifi issues that may come up.
I bought two on Tuesday, everything was great when in WiFi but when you head to the beach you will find you can only play one speaker with bluetooth. How is it that a $99 JBL flip 6 can pair two speakers in stereo in bluetooth and not Sonos?? They could have been great, now they are Best Buy open box for someone else.
@@dnewman6 No you cannot even see the speakers in the app unless you are in wifi. Verified with tech support - why make comments that you are clueless about? I owned two of these for a couple of days.
@@dnewman6are you sure? I didn’t buy the first generation because of this issue, can someone please confirm if it’s possible to pair 2 roams via Bluetooth? Thanks
@TrueCarScottK The newer speakers from Sonos only work directly with Amazon Alexa or with Sonos Voice Control. Google Assistant is only available on the Arc, Beam (Gen 1 and 2), Move, One, and Roam (1st gen).
Sonos really dropped the ball on stereo pairing for Bluetooth. Had a Roam 1 that succumbed to a range light of death. Considering 2 but it's a nasty unknown and disappointing they didn't put more effort into design and features than a Bluetooth button. It is a really nice package for small airplay speaker though.
I was shocked there wasn’t any audio updates. What’s the point of calling it a 2. If anything it’s a 1.5. A 2 would warrant a major change, you know, like audio or battery. Wtf Sonos?
@phildirt3 The retail cost stayed the same on the 2nd gen, $179.00. It's possible that there's a difference in other markets, but in the US the price did not change.
Whoo care about bt button ? Who care alexa on bt speaker? We need chromecast support not just airplay. Sonos looks like they hlave hiden colaboration with apple
I have Sono connected to my tv, I bought a firepit so i can chill outside with a fire. I can see my tv through my window, does this Sono connect to my other wire Sono and I listen to what on my tv.. it football season..I'm not into music as when I was a teen.Tv is my stuff.
@MrJUNE224 If you have a Sonos soundbar connected to your TV you should be able to add the Roam to the audio group to hear the TVs audio through it while you're sitting outside (as long as the Roam is connected to the same wireless network as the soundbar).
Good information.. I’d suggest you’d lower the background music, it’s too loud and distracting .
I’m very surprised you didn’t discuss the battery issue.
Yeah, me too. I have a dead roam one that I need to do something with. Out of warranty unfortunately.

@@mlamb0 SONOS replaced mine out of warranty with a Roam 2 for free
Hope they fixed the battery issue. Otherwise, it's good to buy an additional year of protection.
So they only added a button? And barely changed the sound quality which I compared to my dads Bose sound link and I’m kinda jealous that was cheaper
Yeah, bummer 😕!

Wait so they didn’t improve the sound?? wtf
@GlitchComputer Same sound, but that also means if you already own a Roam first gen you can use it to stereo pair with a new Roam 2.
Yeah, bummer 😕!
TL;DW: they just added a Bluetooth button

That is insane
You definitely can pair two in Bluetooth. You do it in the app.

@camilo9103 Stereo pairing will only work while using WiFi. Once you turn on Bluetooth you will lose the stereo connection between the speakers.
Can use to connect laptop by Bluetooth for this new speaker ?
@Fanfreddy111 Yes, you can connect this to a laptop with Bluetooth.
Music too distracting.
Only Alexa? What happened to Google Integration??

Well that's stupid@@abtelectronics
So you still cant do stereo over Bluetooth?
Seriously
Nope, I bought two and went through the process including calling tech support who confirmed NO PAIR AT ALL stereo or otherwise without wifi.

4:19 ton of changes except sound quality :-)
The comments, by many users, are not positive. It is probably wise to skip the product.
Absolutely not going to be worth the upgrade.
Yeah, 100%

gahh just bought the roam 1
@Gaijin101 Nothing wrong with that. They sound exactly the same. You could always buy a Roam 2 and set up a stereo pair down the road.
Sonos pulled the same crap with the move and move 2 better battery life. Sonos app ia a mess so buyer beware
Yeah, shambles 😅!
These sound terrible, the move is significantly better but significantly larger.
And more expensive
