One thing I must say is we have improved a lot on our city cleanliness. Yes we have a long way to go but there is significant difference compared to last decade or so, across the country. Kudos to people 👏
They need to put trash cans on streets all over the country and do daily pickups to empty them, if it is a busy place, then multiple pickups each day.

Narendra Modi deserves huge credit for redeveloping and modernizing the face city . I have a few Gujarati friends who live in ahemdabad and they all told me that if their city / state has made progress it's all because of Narendra Modi.

Absolutely true. I served in Ahmedabad during 1981-87. It has transformed into a beautiful modern city preserving its age-old cultural heritage. Full credits to Narendra Modiji. Those who say go-back Modiji are settling in Gujarat. Jai Hind, Vandemataram Jai Shree Ram
If we keep all the streets and rivers clean , India will be the most amazing country with lots of ‘jaw dropping’ buildings (temples) and nature
I'm from amdavaad and I would say government developed amdavaad so much in last 2 decades. Good to see government and public both are maintaining cleanliness in the city.

@@coptic9656 ahmedabad name came from mughal badshah ahmed shah, he ruled this city and named this city ahmedabad. before ahmed shah city name was karnawati nagar.
gujaratis, marwadis and marathis say it amdavaad because its more convenient.
i would say our city shoud be officially named as amdavad not ahmedabad nor karnavati.
agar government ne city ka name change karke karnavati kar diya to to tumko bhi pata he bawal ho jayega.

My Mom's family is from there and I used to live in Vadodara. I am located in North America. Happy to see you exploring Gujarat. Its a quite safe state (atleast I can say for Vadodara and Ahmedabad).
My city. Ahmedabad is amazing when it comes to street food.

Great video! Brought back great and fond memories of my childhood days and my vacation visits from my home in Mumbai to Ahmedabad to my maternal grandparents' home, which was quite close to the Lal Darwaja gate of the Old City, the "Tree of Life jaali" at the Sidi Sayed Mosque, and the Nehru Bridge across the Sabarmati. In January 2017, I visited Ahmedabad once again after 30+ years; so much had changed after three decades, but there was just enough of the remembered and cherished ambience of my childhood left, especially on the early morning heritage walk with a wonderful guide and the visits to the old havelis. I too enjoyed the soothing tranquility of the Gandhi ashram on my visit there, and imagining all the history that was made there.
Wow! Wow! so much incredible and mind blowing modernization and still very rich and deep rooted cultural values in Gujarat. Many thanks for this presentation Ivana. Ciao

Gujarat has really developed from last 30 years ago. My chachaspeaks on that very often....
if you are in ahmedabad the best place you can go to eat is VISHALA. Go there only for dinner and stay hungry for day and a half atleast because its gonna be expensive then what you have paid at govardhan thal. They charge high because of the ambience and environment that caters to its clientele.....Must GO when in ahemdabad without a miss.
